This is sort of trivial when you all are talking pandemic depression and shit. It's also pretty personal and maybe TMI so apologies.
My wife and I are having trouble conceiving, but she always thought she'd have a tough time with her health issues. She got blood work done last week and I had my bullets tested Monday. Got the results this morning and it looks like I am the problem. It was a real punch to the gut. I did not expect it.

shit dude, I'm sorry
thanks man. I'm probably overreacting but it still sucked to see. Count is good, motility is bad.

I am sorry. There are things that can help. Try Co-Q10. It’s a supplement you can get at any grocery store that has been shown to help get those guys moving.

Thanks for the rec! I'm willing to try (almost) anything!

Sorry for the tough news. If it helps, that's a solid joke you got out of it at least. Haha.

That’s rough! So sorry to hear that!
My wife and I are also tryin’ to get her knocked up and we’re havin’ issues too. We were both tested recently and it while my stuff looked okay, she suffers from PCOS now. We’ve got some options to discuss, but it just sucks that we tried to be responsible and wait to have a kid until we could better afford that lifestyle and now this.

Clomid and Metformin help with the infertility due to PCOS. I’m sure you can overcome this obstacle. Just going to take a little more time than you anticipated. I hear not listening to AWOLNATION helps also.

I actually hesitated to post this because of the private nature and stuff, but I told my wife the joke and she was like "well, you have to post that, don't you?"

She's obviously right. Plus, it's good for you to get the issue out there with people, and I feel inforoo is usually pretty good about being respectful of real issues.
To give you a positive story, a friend and his wife were going to a fertility doctor after having trouble conceiving. Not sure what the issue was or whose issue it was, but things were apparently at a place where they had begun the process of fostering children with plans to adopt in the long term. Their first child was born in the last couple weeks, so there's hope yet for your situation.

One of my friends from high school was adopted because her parents were told they couldn’t conceive a child. A couple of years after they adopted her, her adoptive mom got pregnant with her younger brother.

Nothing trivial about that! Hope you're able to get it sorted <3
I pay 370 a month for a health insurance plan with 8k out of pocket max. With my immune meds, I am always going to hit that max. 12,500 dollars a year for the privilege of living. It's completely barbaric, and there are people who have it far worse than me. I basically just didn't get treatment for a couple years because I couldn't afford it. Diabetics don't have that option. COVID got me back on it, but every year is a new reminder that I'm paying rent's worth of money for the privilege of living.

Shit, that is rough. I'm so sorry our healthcare system sucks so terribly and that you have to pay that much out of pocket.

Our healthcare system is absolute trash in this country. Hell, I'm only alive and on my current insulin medications BECAUSE[/b] I'm so (taxably) poor I can't actually afford my medications. I'm hopin' this'll be the year I finally leave restaurants and bars behind as my primary source of income and that I can land a job with some decent benefits. I'm sorry you have to deal with such ridiculous expenses just to live. It's just not right that we value profit over people in this world.
Yeah I was in the restaurant game for a few years before COVID hit and it's rough. Don't want to go back. It never really lived up to its promise for me.
they've got me on the hook for 2015 taxes because they think I lived in NC then, but I was both working AND living in DC that entire year (and paid taxes there, accordingly). I had to pay the $870 out of pocket today since it had already gone to collections, and I'm in the middle of buying a house so I can't have that shit lingering around my financial record--and will now have to compile a bunch of proof, including paying another fee to order my 2015 W-2 copy from the IRS which I definitely don't have anymore, to show them that i didn't fucking live or work in NC that year.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

randomly dumped by my partner today, 9 months down the drain 🙃
I'm so sorry. Deciding things aren't working and ending a relationship is one of the worst things. Don't look at it as time wasted though (its not), look at it as learning for what you do want to find in someone.

Fuck that sucks. Saying randomly makes me feel like there weren't talks happening about it before it happened which makes it even worse. Take some lessons from this one and apply them to the next one. Helps with the feeling of time down the drain.

Breakups suck, especially if blindsided. I am sorry. Also, I mean at least it was only 9 months and not after 9 years. I am sorry though and we are here for you. HUGS.
thank you, it's been absolutely the hardest thing i have ever been through, but i think i can finally accept it today. It may have only ben 9 months but i loved them more than anyone ive ever been with. Its going to be a long and winding road but i will get over them and i will get better

Ugh. I'm really sorry. If you need to talk to someone, I'm always available. Breakups are so hard.

I took a second test, and it wasn't much better than the first (but was a little better). My wife had her testing done, and it also was not great. Basically, she doesn't ovulate. Our doctor told us today that we probably should do some intervention to make it happen. She is not taking it well, and I tried to console and it didn't work.
We will definitely adopt, that's not an issue. Just sucks to have a hard time doing something others do so easily. And it's one of those times when everyone around us is having babies.
It doesn’t matter how your family comes together. It’s your family. As someone from a mixed adoption/natural family, I’ll vouch 100%. There’s nothing any of my sisters and brothers (regardless of blood relation) can’t ask me for, and I’ll try to make that happen.
You didn’t ask for advice because it’s the GRR thread. But I’d suggest you try all options but continue to see the fertility doctor just in case they are able to pull something off.
It’s minor league, small-g grr vs what your ole lady is going through, but I put 2 bikes in the shop a few weeks ago. They had been laid up in a garage in Pcola since 2011. They were only $100/125 bikes from back then, but they needed work. So I spent 125 each on restoration. Today was walk a couple miles day, but I figured I’d go ride since I got the bikes fixed. 3 miles from home one of my sprockets (one of the small s shaped ones by the small gears) broke off rendering the chain useless. Nobody else is in Florida at the moment so I said fuck it. I’m going to walk a couple miles after all. I did get to a spot by the Pensacola Inter-Galactic Airport where it was slightly downhill for a couple blocks. Fn s. Back to the shop this weekend.
