Jess, how was it? I thought about driving to Plainfield on Friday for the late night showing but I wasn't sure how Greyson would do and I'd hate to drive 90 minutes to not see it. I'll probably try to get up there this week.

I think there is something wrong with me... I should love paying bills and eating frozen "food" and watching TV and working for most of my waking life. Right? Grrrr for jaded-ness

So why is it that my stepsister acts so Leno that it hurts sometimes??? ::Deep breath:: Ok so I had a relatively crummy day at Target today. It started off worse than it ended honestly...but it was still a bit frustrating. (Saturday) I walk home (very close so why not walk right?) and I see a full trashbag sitting next to my door. It is the garbage from her room.....so...she expects me to take out HER trash for her too? I am not her personal servant....and she acts as though she is all for independence. THEN TAKE OUT YOUR OWN GARBAGE! Just thought I'd GRRR a bit. I feel better now.

I went to the gym this afternoon to get some swimming in. Sunday afternoon is usually pretty slow and the pool is empty but for some reason it was jam packed today so I couldn't get my swim in. Swimming helps me relax, clear my mind and just let go of everything which I really needed today but couldn't get. Grrr.

GRRRRR put up my tent yesterday, checked it and found a couple teeny holes so I went and bought a repair kit, by the time I got home it was dark - so I was planning to hightail it out of work today and immediately patch it before I start dinner....but guess what? it's raining. And guess what else? husband didn't put the rainfly on like I asked him to.
so now I have a wet tent and won't be able to patch it until Thursday maybe due to obligations the next two evenings after work. not good.
oh well....better when its set up in my yard with no one in it then to have this happen this weekend with me in it :-o

Lame! That reminds me, I've got a not-too-large-but-getting-larger-every-time-I-use-it hole in the screen door of my tent. Need to patch that Leno ASAP!

I started a new job in January, and it's fine, but a few weeks ago, I applied for a much better job that I really, really, really want, but I'm starting to give up hope. The job was posted on April 13, and I mailed my resume on April 23. On April 29, I got a letter saying that my materials had been received, and they would call if I was selected for an interview. It is now May 11, and I don't think they are going to call. But the thing is, the job listing is still posted, and I know that as of last Wednesday, they hadn't conducted any interviews, so I haven't given up hope entirely, but I think it would be easier if I could because then I could just get on with my day-to-day life and stop wishing the phone would ring.
I will explain my previous post now. Up until yesterday it looked like we had a magnificent crew assembled for the Hangout festival. 8 good friends, in a condo, on the beach. Yesterday morning three of the girls who were going cancelled, for stupid reasons. Today, my roommate and her boyfriend said they weren't going because her brother was killed in a car wreck. I'm very sad for her, it's just horrible, really. However, since I paid for the condo and was expecting to get paid back (not entirely, just somewhat) by these 5 people, plus the ticket I bought for my roommate's boyfriend who I'm not going to ask the money back for, I'm out about $400. On top of that, we now have 3 people in a condo meant for 6. Oh and we are down to one car now, so even if I can find friends to buy and give tickets to, I'm going to have to rent a car just to haul us all down there. This had to take place a whole day before we leave. &^$)*W%@*&*^@

Holy crap. L's brother was killed in a car wreck? Good grief...how devastating.
I'm sorry about the carnage others have wrought upon you. You know what they say:"The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray."

In general, I don't mind sharing my office. My officemate is a nice guy and we get along pretty well. But, when we first started sharing an office, he asked if I would mind if he played music. Of course, I like music, so I agreed. Little did I know that I would be sitting through 9 hours a day of bullsh!t soft rock. Seriously, there's only so much Michael Bolten a girl can take before she goes a little nuts.

GRRRR just had to listen to a patient read scripture and preach to me the entire time I was in the room with her. It had the opposite effect from what she intended I think. I feel like being really wicked now.
GRRR... well maybe not a GRRR more of an OH NO. I have to take a friend to the ER when I get off work. He has a bad rash on 40% of his body, and it's getting worse. The walk-in clinic won't treat him because he has an auto-immune disease and they are afraid the rash is just part of a bigger problem, so they want him to go to the ER. He doesn't have insurance (because of said auto-immune disease, it's difficult for him to find affordable coverage), and now I'm nervous they are going to admit him to the hospital.

That is an Uh oh I hope he is ok. Zen, whenever people do that to me I just tell them I am a recovering Christian and ask them to keep it down.
^^ the individual was also bipolar so I just kept quiet nodded and tried to refocus the conversation. I drew the line when she started trying to force literature on me though. i like the recovering Christian line though.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he doesnt have to be admitted but I think there's a fairly good chance that he may. then again depends on other symptoms, such as joint aches or swelling etc that may be present. maybe its just a severe contact dermatitis/allergic reaction and they can load him up with a liter of fluid/pepcid/benadryl or hydralazine and some decadron. if thats the case he would turn the corner pretty quick after all that.
poor guy. another example of whats wrong with our healthcare system.

Jess, I am totally stealing that line
zenfnp, I hate it when patients do that. I can't tell you how many times I have an elderly patient who has fallen and they keep repeating, "Jesus, help me, help me Jesus". I so badly want to tell them that they should be asking me to help them because I'm the one who's going to find out what is wrong with them. Jesus has nothing to do with it. I've gotten into religious arguments at work before when I was younger. I know now to keep my mouth shut. That way I can get their exam done faster and then I won't have to listen to their nonsense.
