Michi-who? Didn't they lose like 4 games, 3 to unranked teams... 1 to APPALACIAN STATE?! Haha, Michigan is a joke... better luck next year second rate X-men...
Screw OSU! Virginia Tech was #3 in the standings and they won the ACC Championship. How did OSU play hopscotch with their week ass schedule and make it into the BCS champ game?
they are gonna get beat worse by LSU, so bad that the Illinois loss will have looked like a 1 hour couples massage.
Will it be as bad as the whooping that LSU put on VT 48-7? That's the main reason that VT didn't make the title game, people will not forget about that. It was a beat down.

They lost to #1 OSU, Wisconsin who's ranked # 18, and Oregon who is a top 5 team with Dixon. Games against Division 1-AA teams don't count in official NCAA statistics, so it shouldn't be considered in the BCS picture. You have to take injuries into consideration too. Henne and Hart have been hurt all year, if they were healthy they would have easily beaten Wisconsin, so that just leaves you with losses to Oregon (who was top 5 caliber when they played) and #1 OSU. That's a much better resume than LSUcks has. You wanna talk about unranked teams, how about Kentucky and Arkansas?? Please. And don't give me that triple overtime stuff. That just means LSUcks had multiple chances to win the games and they blew them repeatedly.
At least Michigan will get the chance to avenge the mistake the BCSec made last year by beating Urban Cryer and the Gaytors in the Capital One Bowl.

Only thing is that VT's two losses were to #1(at the time) LSU and #2(at the time) Boston College.
Don't get me wrong, i still believe that LSU is the best team in the country at this time, but i have a strong belief that VT would have made it to the championship game in a bracket format. At the end of the year, they were unstoppable...

I'm not taking anything away from Michigan, well maybe a little bit for the App.State game...
but OSU...seriously? Youngstown State, Akron, Washington, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Kent State, Michigan State? Gimme a break...

The flaw in that is that BC had absolutely no business being ranked #2. Any other year they would have been 6-0 and ranked #10. This just happened to be the craziest year in college football history. They ended up where they should be at #13.

Yeah, I'm no OSU advocate, but unfortunately with them having only one loss they have to be in there. Purdue and Michigan State aren't horrible teams by the way.
Michigan has to hope Henne and Hart are 100% and they get a couple turnovers from UF so they can win in a shootout. Florida's offense is pretty much the worst case scenario for UM's defense. I guess there's still a slight chance Miles could end up at Michigan but after that fiasco on Saturday it's pretty doubtful.
wow, i wonder what made him change his mind... i mean, he was more back and forth than a schizophrenic bi-polar robin williams. i'm glad LSU made the right move... i guess 2013 is when you should mark your calendars for.
ps- no bad blood man... just sports talk! :-) especially sinced i crushed you 2 weeks ago 145-107 in Fantasy! hehe... jk jk i guess the 136-89 loss to you in the early going wasn't the best either...
Post by Hipster Doofus on Dec 6, 2007 17:17:09 GMT -5
Oh, it's cool man. And if you couldn't tell, I was being slightly sarcastic with the UM for BCS talk. Obviously it's been a very very disappointing year.
And no hard feelings about fantasy football....unless of course I don't make the playoffs....then I'm blaming you!!
i'm from louisiana and will more than likely be going to lsu, so no doubt i'm going for lsu and will more than likely be going to lsu. being a pretty big lsu fan, i'm so glad that they made it to the bcs game after going down pretty low in the rankings after their second defeat in double overtime.
Oh yeah....it was AUBURN/USC for the National Title in 2004...oh wait!!! No!!! That was...OKLABOOOHOOOOOMA/USC in an embarrassment of a BCS that year BCS(ec) my youknowwhat

Ouch Some michigan fans are leaning over the LSU's loss to KY. Michigan had no Defense this year. Its simple as that. Wisconsin just blew them away on the line...Like every other team they lost to.

Another joke! You're right, Auburn got screwed.
LOL! I know...we SEC fans just have long, bitter memories....sigh But hey, we did get voted National Champs by Golf Digest that year! Bet that was a first....

OK, the loss against a D-1AA team definately still counts, if for nothing else than simply pride. And everyone has to deal with injuries. You have no right to say that if Henne and Hart were healthy the game would have been won, you still lost to App State when everyone was healthy. It's a very flawed argument. The 3 losses to 2 losses most certainly is not a better resume.
I know you were joking, but I just got around to reading it haha

How about a little respect for App ST? They may be "only 1-AA" to most people, but they happen to be back-to-back National Champions of 1-AA, a Division that actually has play-offs and earns real Championships on the field, in a four- round play-off, not a mythical championship awarded by voters in a couple of polls. 1-A Championships aren't even recognized by the NCAA.

Touche to that sir, and they are currently still in the playoffs this year, right now in the semi's. If they win, they'll be in the national championship once again. The game is actually on ESPN2 tonight, starting at 7 p.m. central time, if anyone cares to watch.

Deathreau, i wish i had a camera that just focused on Jake Long the whole OSU-Michigan game. Then you'd be able to watch him get smoked for 3 hours straight. ;D

What?? I've saw him get beat once. Most of Gholston's plays came when he was lined up at left end.
Post by ziggyandthemonkeys on Dec 10, 2007 16:13:03 GMT -5
He did only get one sack against Long, the only he allowed this year. I'd say its the most trouble Jake Long had all season, when he lined up over him. It would have been worse had he lined up there the whole game.
