lmao! one of my friends has a bracket pool going in his office, and apparently one of the women who is participating isn't good at it. she has a dead bracket!!! check out her choices...

what really gets me is that she picked ut-arlington over memphis. i mean, i'm all for picking a few upsets, but if you have no idea what you're doing, i would think picking a number 1 seed over a number 16 seed just seems a safe bet.
although, now that i think about it, she probably thought those were the scores!!!! hahahahaha

exactly! Atleast there was some sense behind my bets...
I filled out 2 brackets... The one on Yahoo with this group I completely forgot to go back Wednesday night and change a few major games that I realized were stupid for me to pick. This includes WVU over Arizona and then Duke (my other bracket has WVU goin to the final 4!) and I also had ND losing at the appropriate time on my other bracket, whereas for some reason on Yahoo I felt like they'd eventually upset UNC.

^^While I highly doubt that, I honestly can't pick a team that can beat them with just talent. I really feel like someone else is just gonna show up to play harder one day

after watching them crack the century mark yesterday during the AK game, i just feel confident in their ability to go all the way. the razorbacks aren't a BAD team, and nc just SPANKED them. while i know this wasn't a big game, i also look at teams like ucla and memphis who are playing teams they should walk all over, and it comes down to the wire.
haha...i'm not either. i think it comes from being an Aggie and ALWAYS being the underdog. you get used to rooting for them.
I'm just happy that one underdog finally did well: Davidson College. I've been grinning ear to ear about that, today. We're all mainly just a bunch of nerds from a teeny little school, more interested in academics than athletics. I had my heart broken by a quick first round loss to Kentucky in 1986, while watching from the stands. It sure feels good to finally be a winner.
But apologies to everyone who had Georgetown winning that game. In fairness, so did I.
Well, apologies twice over to you, hippienaustin! Wish I lived where you do, this year. You're a lot closer to being able to see the Final Four games than I am!
But a ticket to Detroit would be nice about now, too. Doubt we'll be able to handle the Badgers on Friday, but I sure would like to watch it live.
Deep down inside, I was rooting for Davidson... despite what my bracket tells you ;D
Aww. Thanks. With only 1,700 students and far fewer alumni than most schools, every little bit helps. Karma!
And I can understand how it would feel to be that close, but unable to attend. Raleigh is only 4 hours from me, but I couldn't make it down for either game. At least I'm likely to see all of the next round on television this time. Yes, Tennessee's game was good, yesterday, but I really wanted to see all of the Davidson/Georgetown matchup!

I was going to buy Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight tickets in anticipation of MSU playing in Detroit, but then I decided against it. If I had bought them, they'd be yours right now.

Thanks so much for the thought! As it is, couldn't skip work to make it to the game on time. TV with the few other alumni in town will have to do it. At least it's a much shorter drive home, if we don't manage to handle the rather scary Badgers. Wisconsin will be a tough battle.

Davidson going to the Sweet 16 was the highlight of my weekend! Be pulling hard for them next weekend too. Teams from the SoCon are serious overachievers (ask Michigan...)

YAY SOCON!!! ;D Michigan couldn't beat App ST, but Georgia Southern did. (in a re-building year with a new coach). ;D

SoCon is a much heavier conference than anyone seems to give credit. People forget that the ACC teams started as SoCon teams! Which is sort of amazing, considering how big the conference is now. Imagine how huge it would be with the ACC teams still in it. I'm just hopeful that the performances of recent SoCon champs at the big dance will finally put to rest the grousing about automatic bids from mid-major conferences. Fun fact: the oldest conference tourney in the entire U.S. is the SoCon tourney!

Come on Louisville! Everyone picked UNC and Tennessee on the brackets at work, so if Louisville can somehow pull it all off I've just about got it in the bag. ;D
Overall, I'm fairly underwhelmed by the tourney thus far. With the upsets coming the way they did, it really created some uncompelling Sweet Sixteen matchups.
Xavier-West Virginia was a decent game, but the others have been pretty subpar...
***Edit*** Once again, I spoke too soon. UCLA is once again going out of their way to play down to their opponents and reinforce my belief that they are the most overrated 1 seed in this tourney...

That Louisville game was fantastic! I had Tennessee that round, but I can't help enjoying a well-fought game.
UCLA? Yeah. Not looking so good. Can't believe I picked them to go all the way. I watched Davidson play them both and thought I had a pretty good handle on it all. Carolina is looking pretty unstoppable, now. Props to Xavier, too. Well done. My brackets are toast, but great game.
Davidson vs. Wisconsin at 7:10 eastern. Pull for us. We'll need it.

i have ucla in the finals, but i have NC winning it all. my bracket isn't looking too hot right now, but i think its mostly due to the losses that carried over to the next round. in any case, i think dudezer is right...they are pretty overrated for a 1 seed, which is not something i expected out of them.
