This has probably been mentioned before, but it would be good if there were a way to know which posts you were smitten/exalted for. Not necessarily the person who smote/exalted you, because I like the whole anonymity of the way it's set up, but just for general feedback.
I totally agree! I would like to at least know what i said that caused a downswipe of my Karma.

i think smiting is just unnecessary, personally. perhaps i'm too hippie at heart for my own good, but why smite someone? if you don't like what they say, just don't exalt them. those who are rude will have little to no karma, and those who aren't will have plenty of karma.
honestly, i don't really care if my karma is 1000 or -1000, but in my perfect world, that would be the solution.
^^agree. Speaking of which... Strum, have a smite to help you get back down to that magic number. Your karma was getting way out of hand there for a little bit!

lol See how useful smites are!? I don't know what I would do without the option of smiting... Maybe if we replaced it with a better sounding euphemism, then nobody would have a problem with it.

some of us aren't
it's kinda why this site became low on my list when i found other boards like infobury. everyone treats each other with respect and doesn't act like a dbag to someone they've never even met.

the respect is pretty low these days around here
Be careful when you step down off of your horse hippie - that first step is a real doozy.
Seriously - it gets bad around here at times but I have found youjust kinda have to ignore it - if you do - it goes away - remember don't feed the trolls.
besdies - we can't all be smiling, happy and bubbly like you are all the time

i'm not on any horse. i'm just calling it like i see it. i'm not claiming to always be a bucket of sunshine, but i most certainly have never intentionally disrespected someone.

I was teasing you - but I guess that is hard to convey over the internet no matter how many smilies you use

I think you've said multiple times that you could care less about your karma level and that you aren't losing any sleep over it?? If that's true, then why do you claim to not feel the love over some loss in karma? I mean, I've paid attention to it since I first saw you bring up the "serious bidness" several days ago and it's dropped a whopping 3 points from then. I mean, are those 3 points really that disrespecting?? I'm just sayin for someone who claims to not care about their karma and not losing any sleep over it, you sure do bring it up a lot
Perhaps I'm being disrespectful in just writing this, but I sure don't mean to be... I mean, I've never met you in person so how can I? ;D
My personal thoughts are if you're searching for disrespect and the negatives of a message board then that's what you're gonna find. And I guess you've found it...

the disrespect comment was not directed solely on the karma...sorry for not making myself clear.
the condescension is strong in this one, though. because obviously my life is so pathetic that i just lie awake at night thinking "omg i hope my karma is still the same when i wake up!?" give me a freaking break. i can have an opinion on something and not take it seriously.
^Well there is not a lot of disrespect on this board IMO, and really none at all since the mods started cracking down on it a couple of weeks ago. Also as I have said before the karma comes and goes, mine has been as high as 125 and as low as 65 this year. I know when I make a smartass remark someone will more than likely take it the wrong way and smite me. I would like to add the fastest way to lose karma is to post bitching about it in my experience on here.
ahhhhh. the ever so tried and true, "why log into inforoo to 'complain' about Bonnaroo" post.
fishingIdiot: i stood by Bonnaroo 09 being ridiculous when nobody i knew was even trying to hear it. I endured it's worse year by far, and i still claim it as my resident festival, and because i withstood 08, i will knock on roo whenever. This IS the forum to opinionize thoughts on Bonnaroo, i'm not mocking it, i'm looking forward to it. The karma system, on the otherhand, i will mock all day.

Hmm you can't take a joke and you call me an idiot....
Seriously boots, aside from it being completely infantile of you to refer to me as "fishing idiot" it irrefutably reflects your considerably substandard intellect. Believe me pal, I'm someone at whom you want to fire the first shot.
kay why ess
Yes you may.
I would like to add boots, that such behavior is completely uncalled for. When have I ever spoken a word of aggression or ill will towards you ever. Seriously, what is your problem? ???

I am not sure why you thought he was referring to you - he could have been referring to Dude - Stallion - Becca - Alyroo - and any number of other people.
Believe me pal, I'm someone at whom you want to fire the first shot.
Note to self: The best way to defend being called an idiot is to in turn make a blank threat on the internet. ;D ;D
And I think Boots was just defending the right to log on to Inforoo and stating your negative opinions and criticisms of the festival. That's what it's here for - a Bonnaroo message board. A lot of times people can learn from those negative comments. I mean, I received a substantial amount of criticisms once for saying that Bonnaroo isn't the only festival that rages late nights. And people told me I was wrong! Imagine that... How boring would this world be 361 days of the year if Bonnaroo was the only festival I could go to to rage my face off until the sunrise!
People that have only been to Bonnaroo and praise it as the greatest, or even worse - people who haven't been to any festivals yet but still think Bonnaroo is the greatest ever - need to know there are other places out there. Without hearing about the negative sides to Bonnaroo and in turn hearing stories of excellent times elsewhere how are people going to see past the farm in Tennessee? I know I never would've been to any other festivals if it weren't for this. Criticizing Bonnaroo is not a bad thing!

I guess it all depends on if you idea of excellent times means the music or the party favors, huh?
