Or Nickel Creek. I've been lurking on their message board every now and again, and they have random threads pop up labeled 'worst bands on the lineup' or 'top ten bands you don't want to see' and crap like that...which is sad if you ask me...if a band is signed to play at a major festival, they gotta have some type of talent. But anyway, they talk like they know they suck, but really, they've just never heard of the band. It's sad. Nickel Creek would melt their faces.

As someone on the Lollapalooza messageboard pointed out (and I took great amusement in), the Coachella lineup has "self-pwned".
Check it out...http://coachella.com/event/set-times
An example of the worst offenders:
Andrew Bird v. !!! v. The Decemberists v. Kings of Leon not to mention extremely close calls with Ghostface, Peter Bjorn and John, The Arcade Fire and the Nightwatchman.
This is my nightmare for any festival, although I still think the phrase "self-pwns" is hilarious.
I used to love VNV Nation, don't get me wrong.... I just think it's funny, it's an inside joke with me and some friends. I had never seen what they looked like, so I bought their dvd when it came out a couple years ago, watched it and died laughing. They are so flamboyant, I expected this big military looking german man, and I get this guy that looks like an older Paul Wall, flayling his arms about the stage, and taking massive strides across the stage. I still like VNV, just not nearly as much as I used to, it was one of those high school phases that lasted 6 months. Just wanted to clear that up.
I can't believe Fountains of Wayne got on the main stage. And I'm saying that as a fan.
And Willie > Crowded House > Manu Chao > RATM makes me piss myself with laughter.
I can't wait to see which performances AT&T will be streaming.
Yeah, the AT&T thing was a needed substitute for actually being there. The only thing that I really miss about not going last year was the Daft Punk set.
I keep checking the blueroom site to see what bands they are going to play, but they probably wont show who is playing until the day of. I don't remember when they told you last year.
Sunday satellite party > Arctic Monkeys > Jesus and Mary Chain > Peeping Tom > Sonic Youth > Bjork
Saturday Regina Spektor > the Nightwatchman > the Decemberists > Ghostface Killah > Girl Talk > chili peppers (meh) > good the bad and the queen
Sunday Rodrigo y Gabriela > The Roots > Willie Nelson > Crowded house > (Lily Allen/Amos Lee/Air (havent decided)) > Damien Rice > Rage against the Machine

I am planning on going to Coachella this year, as well as going to my first Roo! (it looks like I am 1 of 2 people on this board who are going to both). Last year was my first Coachella, since I just moved to Southern Cali. I only went to one day of Coachella, and that was Depeche Mode-day. However, I got to see an amazing (but only 50 minute) set by My Morning Jacket, as well as a good set by Damian Marley. Depeche Mode were good, but a bit on the boring side.
However, this year I am going to all 3 days of Coachella, but unfortunately, staying in a hotel (not my choice ).
I plan on seeing: Friday- Satellite Party Silversun Pickups (!) Amy Winehouse or Stephen Marley (gametime decision) Peaches Peeping Tom Bjork
Saturday- Kings of Leon (duh!) The Arcade Fire Red Hot Chili Peppers The Black Keys
Sunday- Explosions In the Sky The Roots Willie Nelson Air Rage Against the Machine (duh, again)
Unfortunately, some of the posts about Gillian Welch and others are true. I don't think she will be getting much love at Coachella. (I am missing her also because she is conflicting with my #1 must see band on Friday- Silversun Pickups). But I am SUPER PSYCHED about seeing Willie Nelson for the 1st time! He is the one artist that I am going to try to get all the way to the front to see. Just wish he was playing longer (damn short Coachella sets!) I think the lineup for Coachella is incredible, but I am much more excited about going to my first Bonnaroo! It seems like a more overwhelmingly joyful, more friendly, exuberant experience then the 'cool hipster' vibe of Coachella, especially with late night sets, and camping being the norm at Bonnaroo. I will try to post a fair and impartial review on here about the bands and the overall festival vibe within a day or two after Coachella. ;D
For all of you that are going to Coachella, enjoy. I hope that you get good weather and I know that you will get good music. For the rest of us that are not able to make it, the Blue Room line-up has been announced.

I am definitely looking forward to watching tonight from Of Montreal on. And I am hoping that the TBD for Sunday is RATM, but that might be too hopeful. The Blue Room is good stuff.
Is anyone watching the blue room thing?? Rufus Wainwright was on and I had to turn it off.....terrible. I thought Sonic Youth was on, but didn't realize it was Pacific time.

Very strange, to me at least, that Mike Patton didn't come out during Björk's set to sing on "Pleasure Is All Mine". Good performance, though. I'm going to bed listening to her set.

I wish they were broadcasting Nickel Creek in the blueroom. I think the music gods are against me ever seeing Nickel Creek on their final tour.....*sigh*.....
