Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I got my hands on my three day tix today also. I'm skipping Roo because my kid will be ~3 weeks old mid-June, but I can walk to Pitchfork from my house so...I can find a babysitter. I dig the line-up so far. Looking forward to hearing what Intonation has in store too.

I got a ticket for Saturday. I would have liked to have gone the whole weekend but time off for Bonnaroo is all I could get. Maybe next year I can do the full festival.
I had a blast at Pitchfork and Intonation last year, with Intonation winning out for smaller crowds and far better weather (Pitchfork was wicked hot). The sound was strangley unloud at Pitchfork last year (it was great at Intonation). It's a pretty chilled out crowd, my main observation is that fans of "Pitchfork" type music seem to be more dorks than hipsters (myself included). It's not a "wild and crazy" vibe, just dorks and hipsters listening to music (many from both sectors seeming like they aren't too used to sunshine). Nobody's getting in each others way or cramping each others stlyle and/but there's not the same kind of feeling of unity/family/identification you might get in another scene.
Good music, good set-up, good times.
Theres an Intonation (same location/setup a month earlier) thread somewhere in "The Other Tent" around July last year too.

I went to Pitchfork last year and had a blast. Definitely a good number of music nerds which was cool. I can't remember whether it was David Berman from the Silver Jews or someone from Band of Horses that said it must be the most music savvy audience they've ever played to. Regardless, ridiculously hot but a nice festival. Gold bond dot com.
I'd love to go back this year, but the old ball and chain is getting a little fed up with me going to festivals, and she's only agreed to join me for one per year (Lollapalooza this year). I've been to Langerado, and I'm going to Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza so I may have to skip out unless I can convince her to come along. We only live about 20 minutes away from the festival so we'll see.
Pitchfork adds to lineup The Pitchfork Music Festival, scheduled to return to Union Park July 13-15, continues to expand its lineup. On Friday, promoters will announce the addition of New Pornographers, De La Soul, Stephen Malkmus, Battles and the Ponys to the three-day bill.
So far, 14 of an anticipated 40 performers have been announced, including Cat Power, Clipse, Iron & Wine, Grizzly Bear, Girl Talk, Of Montreal, Jamie Lidell and Ken Vandermark’s Powerhouse Sound. In addition, Sonic Youth will perform its 1988 masterpiece “Daydream Nation” in its entirety on the festival’s opening night.
Dude...yes. De La Soul...just yes. Stephen Malkmus and New Pornographers...also just yes. Battles and Ponys...yes and again yes. Best $45 investment ever.
The bands on the lineup that I'm not familiar with are: Battles, The Ponys and Jamie Lidell. Any recommends on where to start?
With Jamie Lidell, Multiply is the way to go. He's got a pretty good live rep. There's a lot of improvisation, and he's sort of a one man show. He's part of the whole R&B movement in Britain right now.
The Ponys and Battles are both question marks to me as well, but I believe both bands have very few releases. I found quite a few of their tracks here: www.hypem.com

Thanks dudezer, I'll check that out. I just listened to the Pitchfork podcast, which is relatively interesting despite the fact (because of the fact) that a lot of people whose music I like are pretentious a-holes.
Bonnaroo should do a podcast like that.
Battles sounds really interesting from the brief tidbit on the podcast.

Yeah Lidell is definetly a one man show. I stumbled onto him by chance at Coachella last year. It was a prettty interesting set.

Nice additions, I might end up making the trip again...I have really been wanting to see the Ponys but they never come to my city...
The Ponys have 3 albums out now, they just signed to Matador and last week the LP came out. Both Laced With Romance (the debut) and Celebration Castle are excellent rock n roll records.
I personally like "Lets Kill Ourselves" from the LWR LP. Has this cool casual upbeat guitar lick.
^^^The great thing about the Pitchfork Music Festival is this: I don't see it ever skewing too far from its intent. So even if you miss a great indie music geek lineup this year, you're sure to get an equally titilating lineup with all of THAT year's hot new acts.
