As Meg has figured out already (thanks girl!) I have set up a new message board for VooDoo Fest modeled after Inforoo. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ;D You guys seem to do it right!

Cool - I found a cool gray one with red lettering on the provision board - may try to put the codes in tonigt
We have been experiencing some problems on and off with "server busy" errors...we thought taking some gadgets off had helped solve most of them, but I think it's just the server that they have us hosted on....I had some probs getting to it this afternoon as well....

I still can't get to it from home anymore. I've tried to ping it both it's URL as well as the proboards66 server and neither will go through. I've tried multiple PC's/OS's/Browsers here at the house and none work. The Cox cable help desk said it works for them BUT they are in a different area, hence different servers/routers.
I think I'm going to have to hop on my neighbors wireless and see if I can get it from their Cox connection. Ugh... I hate computers some days.
My sister has similar issues with Bellsouth blocking myspace. I need to start my own ISP.
Rebel, are you using Cox too?

I hear ya about the ISP thing....here is the IP I get back when I ping http://voodoomod.proboards66.com: 67.15.146.36 Now, I don't know if they are using DHCP or static - I would assume DHCP since almost everyone uses it these days....or if they are masking at all....but you could at least see if your PC can ping that address AT ALL.....or see if your DNS server can evaluate voodoomod.proboards66.com
EDIT : totally off topic, but funny thing today....my DNS would not evaluate ebay.com first thing this morning....funny as hell! Took me about 6 tries before it finally recognized it...I thought they were having another denial of service attack! Gremlins today I think......

When I ping it by name it shows that IP so the DNS server is resolving it. There's no response either by name or by IP addy.
I tried a random sample set of proboards other servers, i.e www.proboards65.com as well as 56, 42 and 21 and they all resolve and ping. Not sure what I was really proving there, but I'm getting frustrated.
Cox cable's online tech support is worse than useless. First guy told me that clearing my IE history would fix it, when I told him it didn't ( duh) he intimated that I did it wrong. Then he wanted my tel number, account number and PIN. WTF? I can understand the acct. no., tel. no., but my PIN? Especially since there isn't any friggin PIN affiliated with a COX account.

EDIT Even more off topic but as long as we're being computer geeks: About a year or two ago, we modified a co-workers hosts file so that yahoo, cnn and fox news would all go to moveon.org's home page. He was convinced it was some left wing plot.

Too funny! Yeah, conspiracy just on HIS computer...LOL! That host thing is so funny, b/c we had to actually USE a host file at work on our LAN....to get our UNIX mail server and LAN email to talk to each other....don't know WHY DNS suddenly just decided to NOT work anymore for this one alias....haven't had to use LMHOST in YEARS! anyway....sorry Meg...back to reality!
Here's the scoop on InfoVooDoo!! The errors we have been experiencing of late are NOT, I repeat, NOT of our own doing. I have posted a support "email" with proboards but in browsing the support boards have seen that we are not the only "server 66" board with issues...it seems that server has been belly up with probs for a few days now and they have been downplaying the issues as "it should be fine in 24 to 48 hours..." I think they should rename it server 666 if this continues much longer. I have given the support guys notice that the teeth gnashing will commence in 48 hours if this is not cleared by then!!!
Cajun, next time you are on, try to get to InfoVooDoo from home again....I haven't noticed any server errors today....maybe they have the issues with 66 fixed now...and maybe those errors were also causing you to not be able to connect from home ???
I know it's a long shot....but it's as good as Cox tech support

Still not working. I guess it evens out, I can't post on InfoRoo at work and can't see InfoVooDoo at home. If I could do both then my productivity would drop even lower.
I'll be glad when they announce this year's line-up; sometime in June I assume. It's been a few years since I've been and it might be time to head back. ;D
