I am not all that impressed with the line-up - there are some good acts - but not enough for me to spend the money on the whle weekend down there - I would like to see NIN and REM tho - STP meh not so much
yeah, the line up isn't that impressive. i'm debating between this one and acl since they are the most do-able for me...and with this, acl is winning. maybe the actual announcement will be different.
I know, that's the debate I'm having in my head...a lot of bands for not too expensive. But, honestly, I would just be there to see Ceath Cab, Ghostland Observatory, Cold War Kids, and Tokyo Police Club. I've already seen 3 of those... I don't know what to dooo... My friend and I were hoping that it would be an amazing lineup since it's the tenth anniversary, but now I'm feeling like you, lordrockinhood.
Yea, I thought they were gonna do something different, this is nothing out of the ordinary. I was expecting to be blown away. I suppose that's what you get when you try and follow up after Rage played last year, everyone has high expectations......
^^^don't forget tho - you also have to factor in hotel, food and all that also with NOLA - no camping there (well - I guess you could camp under the bridge with the homeless people that I saw last time I was there)
I don't think the line-up is too bad. Yes the Le Ritual line-up could be better, but the Le Flambeau line-up would be enough incentive to go. Seriously the Le Flambeau line-up is killer.
I think for the tenth year they made it priority for the Le Flambeau line-up to be awesome.

Oh, we've already got a free place to stay with food.

I'm kind of confused... this Le Flambeau, Le Ritual, Le Carnival thing... is this what they call different days? Or are these the stages? I don't know what these are supposed to be.

^^^Well, kinda of....that's what they USED to call them I think...last year the main stages became "The VooDoo Stage" and "The Billboard Stage" LOL! Cause one of the main stages was sponsored by Billboard Mag....and the other one was...well...the MAIN stage.... The others were pretty much called what they were...the Bingo Tent and so forth.....I don't think we EVER used the "line-up" names for the stages or tents....dunno...don't think I ever even saw a sign with those names on them
So when do the bands usually stop playing? Also I see a lot of people don't like STP. I'm not a fan, but just curious as to why people don't like them.
Bands usually end around midnight at the latest, I believe Tiesto was the latest act last year, and he finished up a little bit after midnight
As far as the Flambeau and Ritual thing, it's not stages.........
The far left, Le Ritual, are the bigger name acts. Le Flambeau is MOSTLY (not entirely) all local acts, and by local I mean Louisiana, not simply New Orleans. The far right, Le Carnival, includes acts, as well as other things, such as the Bingo Show, which is kind of like a theatrical production if you will
