Wow, looks like the east coast will finally get its big festival after all this time. This will be an indie rock/alterative rock festival in Vineland, NJ which will include camping. Here are more details about it:

Not quite his back yard...but close. Vineland is in South Jersey. About 2 hours from 'Hood or Spooky, and about an hour from my 'rents house.
eh... close enough, compared to some of these other places I trek to, hop... skip... jump... but there is the Jersey factor though... something whacked ALWAYS happens when I go to NJ, for better or worse, but it's always a story, to say the least. I like the idea of a Rock Fest there. The question is....? Springstein or Jovi Saturday at 8?
I just looked it up on Mapquest. I would end up driving right through Roanoke and Baltimore...
... now who do I know in Roanoke and Baltimore
Just outta curiousity....where does mapquest have you picking up the interstate? 'Cause I just quested and it has me going through Roanoke and Baltimore too.....

You're all welcome to camp out in my backyard the night before . Unfortunately, as the good Chef pointed out, I'm about 2 hours out... perfect distance for a ride on my BMW !
Here's a link to the Google satellite image of the site. Not a bad spot at all!: tinyurl.com/26r6za

I'd start on I77 and hop on I81 around Wythville
total time to festie 10 hours.
Aha! Gottcha! That's where our paths would merge.... ;D From there out I'm sure we'd be on the same route.....

I was just thinking...Maybe this is what Pearl Jam was talking about w/ their one concert all ready planned. The same ppl that do ACL and Lollapalooza...interesting either way..

Well, NJ in Aug....we wouldn't freeze like we did at Echo camping at least - LOL! Should be half decent weather actually....compared to Aug in Bama
Damn, I wasn't expecting this kind of reaction to this news, though I must say I am excited that the possiblities of a near by fest is getting me excited.
