Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Not much info is available yet, but this festival will be taking place Aug 8-10th at New Jersey's Liberty State Park. I'd say it's worth keeping an eye on. You can check out the website here. Between this and Vineland it looks like we're starting to get more festivals in the Northeast!
APW is what was previously being billed as Coachella East. It is the same weekend as Vineland, if Vineland happens. Producers say they had that date picked out before Vineland was announced.
They're also saying they aren't competing because they are different markets, which is a bit of bull. Vineland is about 2 - 2 1/2 hours from Liberty State Park, so it's essentially the same market.
It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out. For APW, Radiohead is confirmed and Jack Johnson is (per Consequences of Sound).

I'm still trying to figure out the name. I mean, it's on the EAST coast...
The festival’s name is inspired by the area’s rich history, particularly Ellis Island and the NJ Central Railroad terminal located on the festival site, where many arriving immigrants boarded trains for ALL POINTS WEST. ;D

From reading between the lines in the article, I have a feeling that the Vineland festival will have more of a Waka/Roo feel while APW will have more of a lolla/ACL feel. I think that since Vineland is going to be a camping festival it might go more "jammy" and APW is going to be a "commuter" festival, it will probably go more "hipster". Sorry above my generalizations, I just think that was the best way to express it. But it is good to hear that they are going to be sharing alot of acts. I am going to assume that the acts they are sharing will be foreign mid-level acts, which is nice.
The planned festival at Liberty State Park in Jersey City may be over six months away, but it’s already rumored to have some acts that I would actually leave Hoboken and go see! Radiohead, Bjork, The Strokes, Sonic Youth and more may play at this three-day festival.
This is an urban off-shoot of the west coast Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, which is held in a desert, and requires pretty much camping out for three-days in order to attend.
Supposedly this event, plus other large concerts scheduled in the south Jersey and Philly areas caused the cancellation of the Vineland Music Festival poised to take place at the same time.
If this rumored list of performers turns out true, I’ll be there. What about you?
I wonder if that guy knows much about Coachella... sooo many people don't camp, and it doesn't look like a desert to me
it is actually in the middle of a desert - but it's on a polo field so it's nice and green for the most part (except when it's 105 and hasn't rained all year). dust storms can be brutal. the camping has flourished over the past 3 years - while most still don't camp, it's grown and many more do now
i think it's just that it gets so expensive to try to find somewhere to stay that's close, and hotels/rentals go very quickly for that weekend. the $55 camping fee is way better than the $500 hotel room

Thats the bad thing about this festival: NO CAMPING. I guess I will be sleeping in a car or just pitch a tent in the middle of the woods.
If Radiohead is headlining this festival then I will definitely be making the trip up there. For me I would find it hard for them to push out a bad lineup, especially with what they are competing against.

The park contains some wooded areas, but there aren't any real woods to speak of. We're talking about a park that's literally less than a mile from NYC and surrounded by urban decay.
Plan on a hotel. You might even want to check out some of the hostels in NYC, then take the train in and out of the city.

go to consequence of sound and it should have a link. There was some guy that said that Radiohead was basically confirmed right after the Coachella lineup was announced.... I think.
