I think I'm making the trip over to Austin for this. The line-up is just too good to pass up. It's between this and Lolla right now.. as I can only afford one. Decisions, decisions.

that is a tough decision. there is always the inforoo couch network. Its kind of like the flu network in harry potter but with more dreadlocks.
ACL. I was just wondering how many are locals are from Austin and how many more are from TX in general.
Robert Earl Keen, The Mars Volta Eli Young Band, Okkervil River, Erykah Badu, Alejandro Escovedo, Roky Erickson, What Made Milwaukee Famous, White Denim, Black Joe Lewis, Asleep at the Wheel & Octopus Project are all Texan acts. Iron & Wine dude (Sam Beam) lives in Austin.
Black Joe Lewis is old school blues. Nothing special guitar wise, but then I saw him a couple years back, and he's pretty young, so he might have gotten better. I don't know. I've heard good things. White Denim's the new local buzz band. Roky and Alejandro are local legends and worth checking out. The only Texas act to avoid is What Made Milwaukee Famous, unless you know their material. They're just a general pop rock act without much focus and if you're not familiar with their material they're pretty quacking boring.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about!! Foo(d) Fighters suck. Agreed. But the most of the rest of the lineup is pretty sick. Here's what acts I'm excited about in no particular order:
Robert Plant/Aliison Krauss---I'll check them out if I dont at the 'Roo Beck Raconteurs Mars Volta Gnarls Barkley Erkyka Badu Iron and Wine Gillian Welch Black Keys Okkervil River Galactic Roky Erickson Yonder Mountain Drive By Truckers Jose Gonzalez Del Jenny Lewis M. Ward Mason Jennings Antibalas Xavier Rudd White Denim Back Door Slam Langhorne Slim South Austin Jug Band
Since I an a noob to the fest, I have two other questiosns, when does the schedule get announced and when do they announce the late night after shows? How much do the usually cost?
I'm thinking this is more than likely where I'm going... even though Lolla is awesome, but for this type of fest this year, I wanna see this fest more, overall.
I just signed up on Kayak.com to have daily alerts for flights from Columbus, Dayton, and Cinci to Austin on Thurs and Fri morning. Stalking usually helps find good deals. Yes, my email may blow up, but I am determined to get a good deal.
If you haven't booked a hotel yet it may be better if you buy a air/hotel package. My package was $560 for 5 nights and round trip. We order through orbitz BTW.
I'm crashing at hippienaustin's place if I go. I just emailed Mr. Busdriver to see if they have any plans in the works. I'll let y'all know if I hear anything.
