i think that if the spurs can make sure chris paul isnt getting many assists that they should be able to beat the hornets...when paul is getting everyone involved the man plays like a mad man...its also to the spurs advantage that duncan is not sick anymore...the whole trip to new orleans he was sick, with fever reaching as high as 103...im definately gonna try to be there for game six (if its not sold out and i can afford it)
I think the main reason they won in game 3 and 4 is the fact that they shut down David West and Peja. They were making Chris Paul do it all in games 3 & 4, whereas games 1 & 2, West and peja had big games. Chris Paul can only take this team so far, he needs help, and he needs it quick. This next game back in the NOLA is absolutely huge. It's obviously a must win for the Hornets, but if they don't pull it out, I fear that it might not make it back to NOLA for game 7.

This was a good game to watch tonight. I personally am hoping that Boston wins the entire thing without ever winning a game on the road. I think that'd be fun to witness in life.
And that lebron dunk was just sick, altho a bit overplayed by the tv station

Agreed. His no-look pass to Joe Smith under the basket was more impressive to me. I had to watch that twice.

^I also agree. Plays like that are often under-appreciated because it's not anything flashy that gets the cameras going, but it was a phenomenal play. I just wish Lebron would figure out that he is not an outside shooter as much as he wants to be in this series. Just take it to the hoop, man! He's so good at driving to the basket and either putting it up or dishing off to someone else.
I just don't like watching Chris Paul. Since the Hawks should have drafted him I get sick every time I see him. I want to love him, but I just can't.
I really like him. I don't know why, but I do. But I completely understand why you can't.
The Hawks ARE looking good, to respond to your previous comment. I might have to venture to ATL for a game next season. If they can keep it up, they'll be a team to look out for in the East.

i was at the game on sunday to watch the blowout. not the most exciting of games, but its better than watching them lose.
IMO, this will be one of the best series in the playoffs. i would like to think it will be done in 6, but only because i worry about the spurs in a game 7. and honestly, not that i think the lakers would be a cakewalk, but i think beating the hornets will be much harder than beating the lakers.

Probably because its like watching an And 1 team when he plays. His ballhandling skills imo are head and shoulders over anyone else in the nba, its like the balls glued to his hand and he puts it wherever he wants. Damn the Hornets are fun to watch.
^^and they pulled it out in the clutch this evening. How ridiculous has home court advantage been this entire playoffs?!?! It's craziness. The Hornets got it done tonight, but now they simply gotta keep that ball rolling right into San Antonio. It's gonna be much easier said then done, but I think the Hornets might surprise some people on Thursday evening........

Agreed^, San Antonio is old, I think they're getting worn out. It was pretty much confirmed for me when Chris Paul was sprinting down the court in the 3rd and 4th quarter while the spurs were pretty much just watching him cut into the lane and either take the bucket himself or dish it out for an easy shot. Go Cavs, the best defense in the NBA can't even handle Lebron.

I can't decide what I'm more worried of for the next round....the nba refs bowing to king james, or boston's defense. Either way I hope their series goes 7. Normally I wouldn't want a long break like that, but with Chauncey's injury situation, I'll take it.

Chris Paul is the shit, and deserves all the praise he's getting, but how about some Deron Williams love?
He's increased his scoring from the regular season 3 points to 21.6 a game while still shooting 50% overall and 54.2% from 3. His assists have dipped slightly, but he's still at 9.6.
I always thought he was a solid overall player at Illinois who had the potential to do well in the NBA, but he is one hell of a point guard. He needs to cut down on his turnovers still, but he is an offensive force that should be getting more attention.
Hornets couldn't take the heat once again and couldn't close our the Spurs (not that I really expected them to with home court advantage being all that it is this year), but once again they get blown out in San Antonio. The thing I am now worried is about is the 4 day layoff til game 7 on Monday, that's a lot of time to rest up and get whoever is not healthy some much needed time to heal up.

game 7 isn't til MONDAY?! dammit...why did i think it was sunday?
i'm definitely worried. and yes, the spurs are getting old, but i think too many people count them out. regardless of age, they are still a championship caliber team, with enough experience to get them through even the toughest of games.
^^^im hoping that it is a game worth watching and not some blowout...the home court advantage is a really strong force in this series...as long as the spurs dont get in their 3rd quarter slump, i feel they should do well

i guess bonzi wells spilling the drinks on the floor hurt new orleans momentum or maybe i was to busy watching the red sox game cause jon lester is throwing a no hiter right now. it's gonna be a good night of watching games.

Is it just me or is this game completely uninteresting tonight. It could be due to me having the TV on mute while I play Floyd... but usually a good game will get me to atleast take the mute for some of the game.
edit: of course the following quarter after I say this it starts getting good!
