^ what were delawares #'s, i forget.
my prediction...its under the 5 point "over/under"..with an outside shot of obama taking it. where i am (right outside philly)..its overwhelmingly obama. the problem lies in the middle of the state, but i think people will be surprised at that outcome.
we'll see. cant wait to get home, grab a case of lager, and get some results. (while watching the flyers win game 7 in wash. )
I'm thinking a Hillary victory by 7 or 8. Anything over 10 then she gets the press momentum and Obama has a tough fight. An Obama victory and Hillary will have to think of quitting (though I don't think she will.)
If Hillary wins by 10 or more the Super delegate "trickle" towards Obama may stop for a bit. Let's hope not.
But at least political junkies like me have something new to discuss.
first off, your dog coming home was just an awesome story. thanks for sharing that - i dont think anyone saw that coming.
but you think she might win?
she is predicted to by most of the polls, her dad was from PA so she has been playing that up, going hunting with him and shit. I really hope she loses tho. If she does happen to lose this, I really think she would have to step down because even some of her biggest supporters have said that if she was to lose PA she should drop out.
hmm, i didnt know all those details. ive just been hoping she drops out so the democrats stand a chance in the next election. all this in-party bickering is not helping anyone but mccain. er, imo, of course.

Even Obama has said he doesn't expect to win, so I'm not keeping my hopes up too high. I just want it to be close. And remember, she was up by like 20 points a month ago, and now it's down to 5 or 6, so that tells you something right there.
Im curious if anyone who reads this happens to be voting for Clinton, could you tell me why? I'm not going to be an asshat or anything I'm genuinly curious.
Well, I have no love for Hillary supporters by this point. I could tolerate them up until I had to deal with them in front of a New Hampshire polling place.
I'm not even on speaking terms with my sister anymore. When this all began, I was for Richardson and she said she just wanted a Democrat in the White House. Things have changed...
Anyway, I think the concern I raised is a valid point that a Hillary supporter should have to defend.

No poop. My friend's wife worked for Hillary here in Iowa. She disowned two of her BEST friends because they supported Obama. Where does that kind of fanaticism come from?
I just got done voting. I didn't realize you had to vote for super delegates to represent your candidate at the convention. That confused me there for a little. It was my first time voting electronically too.

I've met very few Hillary supporters who will have a serious debate on the issues. They usually bring up Wright, how awesome the Clinton years were, the flag pin, how they think Obama is a muslim, how we can never get along with the republicans and bring the nation together so its useless for Obama to try.
I seriously want to hear you, Hillary voters. Convince me. Make a case. I've already voted, but maybe there is a PA voter out there who hasn't.

That's exactly how I feel, I know mudslinging is a part of campaigning, a stupid part, but a part none the less and I have lost a lot of respect for Obama and Clinton attacking each other to such a degree and I cant help but think it makes McCain look better and better in the eyes of the people who aren't sure.....
I'm hoping for the best in PA but unfortunately I don't Clinton is going to go away that easy even if she does lose...

Voting for delegates is probably unique to Pennsylvania. At the very least, not in every state. Some will decide that on the ballot, some will do it at party conventions at a later date. If I remember things right, at least one of the campaigns didn't file a complete slate of delegates. I think Hillary's, because she figured she was inevitable at the start of things. Are you sure it was voting for superdelegates? I thought those were assigned because of position in/service to the Democratic party. Confirming a slate of regular delegates is more like what would be assigned by a popular vote.

That is what I found too. The people who have chosen to support Hillary don't really have a good reason. They consider the fact that they really like Bill Clinton and assume that is enough. And I haven't actually come into contact with people who believe the Obama nonsense but I know they are out there and it hurts my heart every time I hear of someone who truly believes it

Voting electronically? *shudder* Not good.
I just assumed they were super delegates cause Philly's mayor Michael Nutter was on there as a Hillary delegate. It had the person's name and who they were committed to. Obama had like 8 to Hillary's 5 or something like that. I just voted for all the ones that were committed to Obama, even though you could vote for up to 9, 5 men and 4 women. You could vote for an alternate too. It was weird.
Meanwhile, I can't even figure out how people become convention delegates here in Wisconsin. I even contacted the county and state Democratic Party organizations, and never got a response.
On top of everything Hillary claiming the pledged delegates can and should vote however they like really angers me. The Democrats have argued since 2000 that voters votes must count. Now, when it benefits her, she says "Screw what the voters say. Vote for me."
I actually think she would be a fairly good President (way too corporate for me but so much better than McCain, who's moved so far right, I can't even recognize the dude.) but she is sooo power hungry. I will do whatever I can to see to it she does not get the nomination.
The people who have chosen to support Hillary don't really have a good reason. They consider the fact that they really like Bill Clinton and assume that is enough.
That is a big factor in that, I believe. I know my mother and sister both cited Bill's presidency as a big reason. I wish we could just collectively admit Bill Clinton is overrated already.
I wouldn't let someone operate on me just because they've spent the past few decades handing a scalpel off to the surgeon...

thats like a microcosm of the us govt. unnecessarily complex.

ugh. i have come across so many people that believe the whole "Obama = Muslim" bs. It makes me sick to my stomach. I want Obama to win. I figure, if Obama wins, he'll most likely beat McCain in the general election. If Hilary wins Penn, McCain will win overall. And I don't want that. I guess i'd prefer Hillary over McCain, but i hope it doesn't come to that. Go Obama!

I'm sure that really scares her.
The pledged delegate thing REALLY pisses me off especially after she kept stirring the pot about Michigan and Florida. You don't see her advertising her feelings on pledged delegates on TV, do you...
Shes just plain dishonest.
I do think she would make a good President, but I just don't trust her.
Delegate elections are pretty straight forward here in TN. After the primary, each candidate is allotted so many delegates. The Dems then hold a county convention to send people to district. At the district convention (based on US House district) when county delegates elect national deelgate to go to the National.
It is all very democratic and usually if you want to participate in the county or district, you can.
The national delegates must register as a candidate's delegate ahead of the primary for national but that's about it.

I don't thinks it's so much that Bill is overrated, but he shouldn't be a deciding factor in this race, I think you summed it up quite nicely there, I don't want people thinking that because she was in the white house during a presidency that makes her any more qualified...
And I agree with troo she has become so power hungry she is willing to do anything to get this nomination, and that isn't somthing I find particularly appealing in a presidential candidate....devotion? That's great.....obbsession? Potentially dangerous

Hillary? Nooooooo. She's a fighter. She fights for America and what is right. At least that's the spin she uses to describe her obsession with winning. The funny thing is that it really seems to resonate with older women.
