Don't freak out yet---at least not too much. . . it's only on their MySpace page--so I wouldn't take it as official word just yet.
But I feel your pain, kids. I really do. I had way too much wrapped up in going to those Chicago shows last week. I've been a royal beeatch ever since I heard they were postponed.
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
i saw him in columbus, on monday, october 6. he was going on and on about it being columbus day....
thing is, it wasn't columbus day. columbus day was october 13. he was a week ahead.
my question: is it possible that JIM JAMES is always a week ahead of us in the space-time continuum? is possible that anytime we see him, we are in fact peering into the future and that the euphoric feeling we get at MMJ shows is a direct result of this? i always knew there was something special about JIM JAMES, but i never thought it had to do with the space-time continuum.

This is why I am starting to get scared about NYE.
NYE is going to happen. He's got over two months to get better.
Than ran themselves ragged on the road this year--as I kept watching the tour dates pop up, I thought to myself "these guys need to take it easy." I think James getting hurt was just the universe's way of saying "slow down." He's not an unhealthy guy--two months of rest should be plenty for him to get back to his healthy self and playing his heart out again.
Have no fear--after five years of crappy NYE's, I'm absolutely convinced that this one will be incredible.

I really hope so. This year alone I have had two cancellations in NYC. It's a big day yes but if your hurt. Your hurt you know. I've seen bands cancel over less. (I'm looking your way GZA!)

I dunno... I think Jim James as well as the rest of the band really acknowledge when they're given the chance to perform a huge show... just look at Radio City show where Jim said he couldn't believe he was given the chance to play there and then the band went nuts during the show.
I don't think they have the heart to cancel NYE on their fans... Jim will play in a wheelchair if he had to!
I agree with strum. I feel that the members of MMJ know when they have the opportunity to rock out at a really big show, and they make sure to deliver. I sincerely doubt they'd cancel New Year's Eve unless something utterly catastrophic happened (knock on wood).
I'm better. I finally gave the tickets I had to BoH/Whigs to some friends. I still contend that you don't just cancel a tour just because.
But I am committed to NYE. Whatever happens happens. It's New York for goodness sake. I am sure we can all find something to do if that were to happen.
