I just got home from the show in Nashville. I couldn't stay until the very end and left while they were playing Librarian. It was a perfect night, perfect venue and the boys rocked - as usual Good times!

Evidently a fireworks display from the football game went off during WAR freaking BEGUN.

Went to MMJ as a last minute, beg my partner to work for me, kind of thing. Going to Rodrigo Y Gabriela tonight at the Ryman.
MMJ were truly Amazing. Cool night with a breeze off the river. Fire works in the background. I liked how Jim said "Yea, we spent a lot of money on those." The General Jackson floating by. Full Moon covered in a haze of clouds. Lots of glow sticks flying. And the music was on fire.
first of all id like to thank those of you who wished us well at the show. thats really thoughtful and cool of you and its what makes this board AND roo the BEST!
ok the boys were on fire. mann they were so great and amazing. the weather was perfect and the football game did not impact the sound at all. it was just a perfect night and i cant say more nice things about it. i even got to see sassbox

I had posted here before about not really being able to get into them - even though I had seen them twice at Bonnaroo. I totally acknowledged that they are an amazing live band, but the music just didn't click for me....
Well before last night's show I had really made a point to listen to their music more and become more familiar with it. After seeing them again last night, I can happily say that I am hooked!! As amazing as both Roo shows were, this was the show that clicked for me. Such an amazing night I almost didn't go because I was going alone, but I bumped into a friend who was with about 10 other people I had met before so it turned out to be good times.

Yay : ) I remember reading the thread where you were trying to get some advice about getting into them--I'm very glad it worked and I'm happy for you--this band brings me more happiness and more pure bliss than anything else out there right now--hope you get at least a little bit of that feeling from them and their live shows.

i was in heaven at the show last night. i took two friends who were only somewhat familiar with MMJ and i can say with 100% certainty that they are HUGE fans now. they were blown away which makes me a happy panda
the fireworks almost sent me over the edge. i hadn't seen a show at riverfront park since the days of riverstages and dancing in the district. it's a great venue, although it's a bit cramped in the back by the vendors. and the portajohns were def no where close to bonnaroo standards lol.
I cant go to the louisville show tonight. Someone please post pics and info.

What a night. 2 1/2 hours of Jacket bookended by 10 hour drives. Great show. But I have heard from more than 1 person Nashville was better. Either way it was a blast. Congrats Sass. You deserve that.
i wasnt at nashville but from seeing at how stoked they were to be in their hometown i'd say it would be pretty hard to top that. I had a friend who was in front of the line from 12:30 til show time and he said that Jim's mom dropped him off at the gate. How awesome is that. Makes me me better about being nerdy
Aw, that's precious! At bonnaroo, there was a woman, probably in her 40s or 50s with another younger (20s?) girl with her. They were right by me in the front but on the inside of the barricades. By the way they were acting, I kept wondering if they were from Jim's family. I really have no idea, but it would've been neat if they were there!

Have a blast : )
I brought a friend of mine to the Nashville show who was a Jacket rookie (one of four in the group), and two thirds of the way through the show he turned around, looked at me, and said, "this is the music GOD listens to, man..."
It was pretty funny. And probably not too far from the truth.
