well, over all our group isn't picky, moderate to cheap prices probably be best-with Roo expenses looming at the end of the week. Whats Nashville known for: BBQ,Steaks,Deep-Sea Big-Eyed Tuna? Any Favorites? Probably hangin out down town.
you poor thang, let me educate you. It is 1 meat, preferably fried, and 3 vegetables, one of which must be fried and 1 must be a potato of some sort, plus sweet iced tea.
what's the best place to eat on that monday morning drive after the roo experience. Cheap/expensive doesn't matter. Just a place to savor both food and experiences from the preceeding 4 days ;D

If you can give me three choices: 1) BBQ 2) Late Nite 3) Not touristy, Local Favorite

craker barrel, they are everywhere and have good biscuits. Unless you are headed towards the Natchez trace off HWY 100 Then you must stop at the Loveless Cafe
I live within walking distance of all three of these places, and I can atest that they are all excellent choices! The Gold Rush is my bar of choice, and the food is good... bean rolls, yum. Rotiers is where I bring people that are new to Nashville or visiting because it's relatively cheap and have the best burger I've ever had!
I also recommend the Loveless Cafe (as someone else did). Touristy, and a bit out of the way, but good Southern food. Another local fav of mine is Calypso Cafe, and there are several locations around town. Carribbean style food, good vibe.
And I must add, FRIED OKRA ROCKS!!!!!!!! I'm having some tonight at my granmother's

My favorite BBQ place is Whitts. There are a bunch of them around Nashville and I think they all have drive-thru. Their turkey loaded potato is SOOO good. It is cheap and looks like a dive, but their food is great.

The first place that comes to mind is pancake pantry. Not my personal favorite, but it's kind of a Nashville establishment, also since you mentioned something for the morning.

I actually haven't eaten there in a while, but I think i just might have to stop there on the way home tonight........This thread is making me hungry!! ;D
oh and the taters are amazing....they are like a chain and they are all over...but I think BBQ when I think taking someone thats not southern out to eat some local food. my friends from up north say that bbq means bbq sauce so when it took some trying before they would taste it but man! thats good stuff....made me start eating meat again when I moved home I missed it so much!
Jim and Nicks out on Charlotte has good BBQ including a gigantic potato stuffed with Beef, pork or Chicken BBQ for like 8 bucks. I am originally from West TN though, and I have to say Nashville ain't got nothing on real WT BBQ. It is awesome you can be driving around in the middle of nowhere, and see a little white building that will have to initials, and say meat company. Out back they will have three or four pigs pigs just roasting away. MMMM now I want to go visit home now.

And doesn't Whitt's still have their BBQ sandwiches on sale on Wednesdays. That's the place to eat the night before Roo!
