We used cooler water which was particularly refreshing! I'm hoping for a shower-esque deal of some sort though. It will definitely help keep up stamina. Just washing my feet in cold water has always been incredibly helpful.
This shower info is very helpful and I do want to take one or two while at the Roo. Curious: How is everyone hanging their solar showers without trees? Does the average EZ Up accommodate the weight of a shower bag?

^I've heard of a lot of people having problems with that... i.e. having to have a buddy hold it up for them because the weight of their shower tent couldn't handle it... Haven't had any experience with it but I've heard multiple people say it's been an issue...

I had a camping shower thing that we bought cheap at walmart last year. Bought a few jugs of water as well to fill it up with.
Hung it up on an open car window, squatted down and cleaned the body off. You don't get 100% clean.......but any clean is a huge refreshment. just getting sweat and dust off feels great
Wake up in the morning. Have a drink and a smoke. walk to the water trucks at POD 8. Grab a bloody mary on the way. Drink that in line. "shower" in the water truck. Grab a bloody mary on the way back.
Has working GREAT for me every year.
Except for this year because I'm pregnant and I will be using the volunteer showers.

my solar shower goes on the top of my car. i've got a couple cheap bungie cables this year so i can hook it to my luggage rack. i'm 6'+ so i can't stand straight up regardless, but it's SO much better than nothing. also, it's SO much better than $10/shower.
The hose that goes from an outside water spigot to the rolled up hose carts works the best. It is only 3 feet long. If you attach a multi-function garden sprayer to it you will be able to switch between a shower function to a hard spray to get your legs and feet clean of the stubborn dirt. I've use one the last two years like that and everyone else loves it too.

posted this on another thread but...
a much cheaper and easier way IMO is to buy .79 jugs of spring water at the grocery, put them on top of your car for a few hours where they will get nice and warm, get a big cup, washcloth, soap/bodywash, and go to town. we have a shower stall thingie that we use, but really you don't even need it if you want to bathe in your swimsuit or something.
best thing ever. you feel like a million trillion bucks,

That is exactly what I'm doing. I know it's weird, but even in the hottest 'roo weather, I can barely stand a completely cold rinse off (the troughs get pretty darn cold!) I brought a solar shower last year and rigged up some PVC pipe inside my shower tent to hold it. It never really got warm, and it was a total pain in the ass to carry those shower bags filled with water from the troughs. Water/milk jugs have handles, so much easier!
Whatever the shower situation is at Roo, it's 100% better than the showers at Sasquatch. They had 2 shower in premiere camping for about 8,000 plus people. Needless to say I was a bit stinky.

In 2007 I bought a shower Sunday morning over off in the campgrounds from some local people, they had rigged up a set of stalls and you got towels, soap, etc. included. The water was completely cold, but it was one of the best things ever.
In 2008, I didn't shower at all at Bonnaroo but about 2 exits up the highway towards Nashville we stopped at a gas station that offered showers and it was great. Perfectly clean and very nice for about 9 bux I think.
What Will Be Provided - Drinking Water (see “Water At Bonnaroo” section below) - Medical Assistance - Wash Stations - Showers (at select locations throughout the campgrounds) - Portable toilets with toilet paper (although we suggest that you bring at least one roll of TP, just in case. Also, you may prefer not to go into a portable toilet in the dark so we suggest bringing a flashlight with fresh batteries) - A general store will be selling sundries (personal hygiene products, batteries, film, disposable cameras, ice, beer, etc.) - Vendors will be selling a variety of reasonable priced foods, beverages, and snacks - Pay telephones – Collect and Credit Card Calls Only - ATMs - we still recommend that you bring enough cash for your stay to avoid potentially long lines or waiting for the machine to be serviced. Please bring enough money for any additional expenses you may have.
i don't know if they will be sponsered again this year?

I'd still like to know if this is possible. A full solar shower according to the box weighs over 40lbs. Sounds a bit heavy to lift head high for a friend for 10 minutes.
Anyone know if the standard ez ups can hold this kind of weight?
save yourself time and money and buy yourself a coleman camp shower. they hold a few gallons of water and the water heats up with the sun in no time. even has a little plastic shower head. just don't use it right AT your camp, or you'll have a mud problem. well, you can use it at your camp, just be a little creative.

www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4726169&findingMethod=rr Get one of these and a solar shower. The solar shower holds 5 gallons. Fill the solar shower with water and lay it on the hood of your car for an hour or two, hang it in the shower tent and you're all set. You can get naked and shower, rather than shower in your clothes (my preferred method, I almost never shower with my clothes on at home).

Bonnaroo Showers: You have the ability to stay as clean as you like at Bonnaroo. Designated pod locations will have shower facilities available for $7 from 7 am to dusk. Garnier Fructis will be providing complimentary shampoo and conditioner at each of our locations to enhance your experience.

Ez-up canopies will not support a full camping shower. A 5-gal shower bag will weigh about 42lbs when full (water= 8.34lb/gal) and even the stronger EZ-ups will only support a max of about 35 lb on a corner (which is the strongest point.)
My point is don't risk losing your shade for a shower.

Thanks for the info. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to throw down any more money.
The shower that SpundaySensei posted above from WalMart is the one we use. It is quite good for how cheap it is. Guy it out really well to stabilize it. Ours held up very nicely through a mighty rough Langerado storm last year.
One note: Do not hang the shower bag in there when it is full except when you are using it. The shower stall can hold the bag fine, but it does stress it some and the top weight would be very bad during wind or a storm. So, best thing is to lay the shower bag on top of your car when it is full until you are ready to use it, then carry it into the shower stall, hang it on its hook, use it, remove when done.
I'm only 5'10" tall, but I still find myself squatting during much of my shower, which is just fine with me. The bag is heavy and you will generally get 1 shower out of 5 gals or 2 showers if you are real conservative and do it marine-style (quick rinse, turn off water, soap up, turn on water to rinse up, no extra rinsing).
But I've heard voices not in the head Out in the air they called ahead Through ripped out speakers Through thick and thin They found a shelter Under my skin -Evgeny Aleksandrovitch Nikolaev
I actually don't mind the troughs. I take a plastic cup, soap, towel and shampoo and do my thing. Usually just rock mesh shorts commando style and i think its a great free shower option. Besides, you get sweaty/dirty in about 10 min anyways.
Troughs and a short hose; free, cold, easy, refreshing
Definitely. My friend brought an old water hose and and cut it about 15 feet from the attachment part. Ran that merf right outside the trailer and we had a shower. Water's cold though...
i built this portable shower just for bonnaroo. its powered by the cigarette lighter or any 12 v power source. it use about 1 gpm. i used a submersible bilge pump to sink inside the bucket. it has 12 ft of line so i can snake the shower head inside a shower tent with no problems.

I prefer a much simpler, and frankly more fun, method. Last year I just took a bottle of body wash and shampoo into Centeroo one evening, and I showered in the mushroom fountain. It was a blast, not too cold, and I got crazy clean. Highly recommended.
