Thinking about staying at the Hotel Zero 1. Any information about this place? Also what is the night life like, any cool clubs or bars to go too after the festival ends at 11? Will have one day free in the city, anything that we must check out? Like art museums or local restaurants? Never been to Montreal before, super excited!

i was on the edge about going, but with Jesus and Mary Chain, Santigold, Knife Party, and Wolfgang Gartner this lineup is getting really good.
anyone know the likelihood of a sellout, or estimate on when?

No idea about sell outs, but I will say judging by the acts you listed, definitely check out Buraka Som Sistema if you haven't. Seems like they'd be your style (judging completely off those 4 acts, so maybe I'm way off, heh.)
Alright i asked this in Lollapalooza thread, and got someone to offer, but they sold out too quickly:(. Anyway, i am probably going to this, gonna do my first solo trip i think (or at least plan on it).
Now they thing that is worrying me is finding a place to stay. I know their are plenty of options and i will look in to them, however, is anyone going to this that would like their Hotel stay subsidized by adding another person??? I don't take up too much space and literally only need a floor, i don't need a bed or couch or cot. If anyone is up for this please PM to work out details. It would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

one thing to look into that I've done in years past is to check out the university campuses as they have rooms for cheap in the summers, although they are pretty much a desk and a bed. The one I went to was only like a 10-15 minute walk or something to the bridge which brought you to the fest. The other thing is I'm pretty sure you still get an unlimited metro/subway pass with the ticket for the days which means you can get around the city very quickly even if you weren't right downtown. There is a train that goes right to the island. That combined with the bikes they have all around the city for like $5/day unlimited makes it really easy for a tourist to get round. Montreal is awesome.
Unfortunately, last year the tickets were not unlimited metro passes as they have been in the past. This year the tickets do not have the metro logo on them again so I'm going to assume that they will not provide unlimited access again this year.
They have added even more BIXI stations (the bikes you speak of) this year and they are pretty much everywhere, it's super convenient.

Thanks a lot for this information. Was wondering if there was a specific site i should look into to attempt to get one of these types of rooms? Or i should just look to contact a local university??
A cheap place to stay, The Osheaga Hotel. www.osheaga.com/en/osheaga-hotel/ I have a feeling that this place will get pretty wild. It's in a pretty good downtown location as wall.
Aw bummer! Wish I knew about the Osheaga hotel before booking my nights at the Hilton a few weeks ago. Cannot wait though! Any cool clubs/bars to go to after the show?
Damn, Ainsi, Radio Radio, SBTRKT, Cursive, Asexuals, Birdy Nam Nam, Koriass, Killer Mike, Iggy Azalea, Chappo, Charli xcx, Sandro Perri, The Dø, Peter Peter, Construct & Harmsworth, The Airplane Boys and Doe Paoro all just added!
anybody perhaps going to this that would like their hotel room/dorm room subsidized? Trying to go to this solo, but only big problem is hotel room......
Sigur Ros vs. MGMT vs Killer Mike Gary Clarke Jr vs Franz Ferdinand City and Colour vs. Bloc Party vs. The Black Angels The Black Keys vs. M83 vs. the Asexuals
I'm really disappointed in the schedule. I'm only going Saturday and all I really wanted to see was SBTRKT, Yeasayer, Feist, and Little Dragon. All 4 overlap. Looks like Yeasayer will be the only full set I will be seeing.
Not that I wasn't already looking forward to them but now I'm looking way more forward to the strip clubs than the fest now.
1) I really enjoy this line up, does anyone think this is worth the 8 hour drive to do solo? 2) if so could anyone suggest a hotel/hostel/dorm area to check out....

Hey folks! Everyone getting excited for Osheaga??? It's helping with my (continuing) post Roo blues. I'm still waiting to hear back from Solin Hall. I've left 3 messages with them and still nothing. Uggggh.
I can't seem to find info about the late night boat cruise thing. Nor about the post-fest shows at night.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Osheaga have announced that they have very few weekend and 2 day passes left. I still can't imagine them really selling out. The site is huge, and had nearly 60,000 there last year for Eminem.

Bought my ticket!! Pumped! So I FINALLY got an answer out of Solin and they're all sold out. I was a bit pissed as I'd been leaving messages for about a month or more. I guess emailing is the best way to reach them, not calling
I'm starting my hotel search now. Maki, can I assume that the Metro system is good enough that it won't really matter where I stay in Montreal??

I believe it's already been said in this thread, but McGill still has rooms. We are paying 160 for Saturday night, and they told us Friday would be open if we decided on coming early.

Are they the double rooms?? The email I got back from McGill said that only RVC was available, and those are all single rooms. There's 4 of us, so ideally we'd be together.

cinnamon, Yes the Metro system will get you just about anywhere in Montreal, but I recommend that you ask how far it is to the closest station when you book.
Also the Metro is really the only good option of getting to and from the island that Osheaga is held on.
