Don't want to sound like an bung hole but by putting the location of shakedown on twitter this year ruin it? Authorities looking to cut down on the non licensed vending could just as easily find the location as anyone else. Plus, having the location listed on a public domain like that would only give them more incentive to get rid of it. It's one thing to let vending slide if it's off in the Ozarks somewhere where few people know about it as opposed to everyone knowing it's in the Ozarks. They know suddenly everyone is going to make the trek to the Ozarks.

Honestly, there are bout 150-200 people who will be on the inforoo twitter. I highly doubt that 150-200 people knowing something is a big deal in the grand scheme of 60-65,000 people.

I thought the number involved were for all the people on twitter going to bonnaroo. Inforoo is a much different story I guess.
^^^hey - Boz and I are both 29 and this is our 3rd 'roo and there are lots and lots of us that are 30 and older that are gonna be there - it is a state of mind - I don't feel old - at least not in the afternoon - first thing in the morning getting out of bed is another story
hey silly, your not 29! ;D these youngins need to take it easy on us old farts! i'm sure we can still teach them a thing or two!
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

How about we get on our own little Patriot Act and do background checks for all the Twitters for Inforoo so we can discover if there are any undercovers lurking. Someone get on that.

Could someone please fill me in on this real shakedown thing. Is it just where all the non licensed vendors and corn vendors gather and start up their own little groovin marketplace?

Yeah, basically that's it. Although corn is kinda the tip of the iceberg so to speak.

ya there is only 167 people following inforoo. and even then, we have to wait for the main person who set up the INFOROO twitter account to tell us the location. unless you are following every person... which i'm following about 10 people... as most people are... you won't hear that much.
so it's a pretty small number of people... good looks though...

you have a grateful dead avatar and you don't know what SHAKEDOWN is?! what a shame...

hahaha...i'm following 33...and you're on my list, so if i hear something...you will!
I think I found it last year, but it was kind of a let down. Maybe it was something else and maybe I was looking for the wrong thing. Can one of you experienced Rooers send me a PM or an e-mail letting me know all the deets of Shakedown that may not be able to be put on this forum?
Thanks
Oh yeah, for all of you people calling yourself old...com'on. When there's about 80,000 people out in a campground having a good time, it doesn't matter if you're five or fifty-five. In fact, having some awesome older people around makes me feel a little better about that whole "i'm gonna be old someday" thing.

I finally found it on Saturday afternoon...... After spending two days on the main street near the main stage entrance, just asking dudes where it was. My problem is I am a 43 yo white man with a buzzed head. I look like 5-0 and get treated as though I have the plague. It was really bumming me out, till I found some guys enjoying mother nature on what I thought was shakedown. He finally clued me into to keep walking and take a right. I did and then found a magical left turn....;-) When you have found the pipe sellers you are close.

i found it...found the most amazing seafood dish over there....and some cool threads too! for those of you who didnt find it....look for stoners at the vender booths and ask them next time.
i found a shakedown at pod 9.. just a bunch of glass vendors, not too many people selling their "goods". a friend spent 100 on fake "goods" what fucking pieces of shit someone would have to be to sell fake shit
I was parked way out there in SSS9 (Shakedown Street Sector Nine) and was so bummed during the first walk in, thinking man.... I'm in BFE. Then when I got back I started to notice what was going on around me and my thoughts changed.... take a right, take a left, slow down and take in the sights/listen closely. Also on Sunday I ran into an old highschool friend! He was selling tie-dyes. That may not sound like such a big deal until you know I graduated in 1990. Big smiles and hugs were had.
yes! i thought it was at pod 9. that is where we were, but i still wasn't sure by the end of it since we didn't really wander around different campsites. i guess maybe i thought it would be bigger, but we did have TONS of people coming around selling stuff at our campsite.
In my experience, Shakedown St. dispersed into the surrounding alleyways. I guess there was more activity on Plantation St. sometimes (that's definitely where all the glass was), but we had more success just walking around the dark side roads. Or waiting for people to walk by us.
You just gotta poke around. Still, it's nothing like when 3rd Ave used to be lit up with end-to-end vendors and anything your heart could desire.

One door to door salesman told us to look off the main drag up to Centeroo off of 3rd street if we were looking for stuff, but we never really needed to, the door to door method was in full swing this year.
