Last year I didn't end up finding the Real Shakedown St. Anyone know where it was? Will it be there again? If not, how would one find out where that is this year? I asked some folks wearing inforoo t-shirts last year and no one knew anything.

Oh, you will know! Fakedown is in the middle of the festival. Think Disney gift shop. Shakedown (and there are two) will be as far back as you can walk. And you will feel like you are in a third world country ;D

That was exactly how I felt upon entering my first shakedown many years ago... I thought to myself, "Jesus... Did I just stumble into a Calcutta street fair?!?!?"
there will be less and less shakedown every year. unfortunately, roo is seriously cracking down on this. they don't want you to spend your money with anyone that isn't officially part of the festival. i talked to one of the food guys, who had the best lot food I've ever had. he was an "official" vendor at langerado and i found him on shakedown at roo in 2006. I saw him again at langerado this year and i said "hey i tried to find you last year at bonnaroo" and he said "yeah, roo is over. it's sad." really... when metallica is headlining your festival, you're pretty pretty mainstream and there just isn't any room for a real shakedown in the mainstream world. of course, as long as phil is there, there will at least be a tiny bit of shakedown action.
