Waaaaayyyyyy back off the 9 balloon was a nice shake down area. There was a main street with people selling glass and whatnot, but take a few more turns to where it gets darker and there you have anything and everything your heart desires.
I got everything that I wanted/needed off Plantation St. again this year...it was very excellent!! Seemed a bit larger than last year too, which was reassuring!

Corn was completely impossible to find all weekend until I wandered around Sunday night and found shakedown, not sure what street it was, but it had the glass vendors and had the can art piece on the street. We got our corn and bought 3 bootleg shirts for $25. i jut wish i would have found it earlier. What was up with the no corn around all weekend this year?

Can't really compare it to other years as this was our first Roo, but shakedowns seemed pretty decentralized and scattered all around. Couldn't really find anything Thursday, but I'm thinking it was either just too early, or our noobness to the scene or both. It's strange to hear about the lack of corn, because it found us several times all weekend. Too bad it was the one thing we DIDN'T need. Hopefully it found it's way to the needy masses after we passed it by. We did find what we needed Friday fairly easily just wandering around, and even sitting in the back at Metallica. Although we weren't able to find more later on to take back home, I'm not too bummed since this was a learning experience for next year.
it was hard but became quite easy and kept coming by the camp site the prices were ehh but deff the last corn i got was fair priced and amazing quality.. dude said something about indian, either way it was some purple corn..
being by shakedown on pod 9 was the only thing that cheered me up about being too far away from centeroo to go back to our campsite whenever we wanted. haha.

The stroll I took down the main drag on Friday this year seemed a bit "dirtier" than last year. That is, had I been in the market for something, I could have easily found it.

everything we wanted came to us. a friend of mine was in a rush for party favors on thursday and i told him to calm down and wait for it. the next day he had all his heart desired.
Hmm... I think I saw that Shakedown. Wasn't too exciting though. They had the 7 dollar Bloody Marys?
wow, i was giving them out for free saturday and sunday, i had 8 liters of home made mix and 3 - 1.75's of vodka and that was way to much for my group of 6 so the neighbors took advantage of us handing them out.. we prob wouldve had 200 bucks extra if we charged
Never found the real Shakedown. Being in tent only, and knowing that it would be pretty far out there, it was more of an afterthought for me, really. However, I did make an attempt on Sunday night, after Widespread had finished. I was feeling... markedly different, I guess you could say, and was in no way, shape or form ready to go to bed. So I wandered around the campgrounds far and wide, taking in all the sights and sounds, all the while hoping to come across the real Shakedown. I never did find it, but I met a whole bunch of awesome people exploring the campgrounds. I wish I'd done that earlier in the weekend, and I will make an effort to do more of that next year. A highlight of the weekend, for sure.
I think my friend finds the shackdown street that is underground in a bunker and you have to have a id card and know passwords because the stuff he finds every year is amazing
there will be less and less shakedown every year. unfortunately, roo is seriously cracking down on this. they don't want you to spend your money with anyone that isn't officially part of the festival. i talked to one of the food guys, who had the best lot food I've ever had. he was an "official" vendor at langerado and i found him on shakedown at roo in 2006. I saw him again at langerado this year and i said "hey i tried to find you last year at bonnaroo" and he said "yeah, roo is over. it's sad." really... when metallica is headlining your festival, you're pretty pretty mainstream and there just isn't any room for a real shakedown in the mainstream world. of course, as long as phil is there, there will at least be a tiny bit of shakedown action.
with Phish playing twice this year, I think it's safe to assume that there will be at least some sort of shakedown.

same here. some dude dropped his tank out of his backpack while me and my buddies were sitting under our ez up. then across the way, i just saw a bunch of green balloons (filled with air) and people laughing their ass off.
then another gal came by and just kept saying "It's so pure. It's the purest at Bonnaroo. Pure! Pure! Pure!" And I was like... ok, I get it, it's pure. Nice gal, though.

This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
