Barring some sort of backslide with his personal issues, it seems inevitable.
yes, this is what I think too. In 2009 it will have been 3 years since he has been on the farm.
Have you guys ever seen the "We have arrived" bonus DVD for the 2004 festival? It has an excerpt on there of Trey preparing the Nashville Chamber Orchestra for his headlining set that year, and he is talking about how he "spent the whole day at Bonnaroo yesterday, running around seeing different acts." He seems genuinely excited by Bonnaroo.
Furthermore, Trey is the one who suggested Tool as a headliner when he was asked "who would be a good headliner for Bonnaroo?" in an interview.
I know he couldn't make 07 because of the law or something, but was he just not booked in 08 or he couldn't come?
I think that at the time the festival was booking acts, Trey was still in the midst of Drug Court. He Graduated the program in May, I believe, but at that point, there was little room for him on the schedule. He is a big draw for Roo, and demands a decent time-slot (Headliner, pre-headliner or Late Night). So I think they held off booking him b/c he wasn't through with the program, and there was no guarantee that he would be through with it by the time of Bonnaroo.
Once he graduated, he got added to like 3 different festivals, and has now booked a show in Nashville. He's BACK! And he better be at Roo 8.

i would enjoy oysterhead with friends superjam, and treating in in the way they did this year without saying a word about it. obviously the friends list would be pretty deep

i thought that was Phil Lesh ???
linksies!
RS: Who do you think should headline Bonnaroo in 2007? Trey Anastasio: Tool! I saw them here in New York at a small theater, and I loved them. They were so loud. They're the most psychedelic band going. The funny thing is, with their odd time signatures and patterns, they sound kinda like Phish.

If he's 'tuerin', he'll be there-He's a HAM!...unless its getting around with the acts about how that Kanye crap fell on Phil to finish early-I cant imagine any act is gonna be thrilled about people like that running the show...grrrrrrrr
If Phish goes on tour next summer they will have their own fest. and I don't know if he'd do bonnaroo. But if phish waits another few years he will be their hopefully with Oysterhead.
i heard that phil is throwing his own fest on bonnaroo weekend. its called philaroo and its gonna be sweet. Dr. John is the master of ceremonies, its 3 nights of phil, 3 nights of phish, 3 nights of string cheese, and kanye goes on at 530am all 3 days. its gonna be the shit!!!!!
so uhhhh.. i wouldnt hold my breath on trey or phish at roo.

ya that could be an issue, but i think it can still work out. phish will have to take the thursday night slot at b'roo though. Possibly they could open for phil at p'roo and make it back to b'roo in time for the kanye slot, but it wouldn't leave them a lot of time to get the lights set up. it should be interesting either way.
damn havent see you around these parts in a while nol! hows that sex change working out for ya???
do ya think phish is big enough to anchor thursday at roo??? i was thinking it would take something like korn, limp bizkit, incubus, green day or blink 182 to fill that thursday spot. i dont know if roo has room for the little guys anymore.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
that dosent surprise me in the least. we would all rather you go see lil wayne too. youll probably get your chance next roo. maybe he will do a latenight with lil john and lil flip. and roo will be a lil worse then it already is.
