Like some folks have been saying, it's not a bad lineup, just kind of meh. I feel like a lot of it is a rehash of Bonnaroos past. And there are definitely a few questionable choices (Dashboard, Gym Class Heroes).
The thing that confuses me is, where are the headliners??? Neither Death Cab, Snoop Dogg, or Thievery Corporation are big enough to headline a big festival. All of those acts would be pre-headliners at other fests
Honestly, it's not that bad a lineup. It's just been downgraded from a destination festival to a regional fest though.
that pretty much nails it, it'll still be a good time, but I don't blame people for not making the trip, it would be too expensive if I wasn't already here...
...although, the price you see is the price you pay, no service charges, just shipping. Gotta love that!

Yeah, when I saw the top of the bill, I was ready to make some snarky remark about how far the festival has fallen off since the move to Miami, but if that lineup were for a fest here in Austin, I'd probably buy a ticket. If the middle of Bonnaroo's lineup is anywhere near as strong as Langerado's, we're in for a good year.

Ehhh I wouldn't go that far. Other than some bands that have played at Roo before and a handful of others, there are alot of bands I wouldn't really like to see at Roo.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Public Enemy, Bad Brains, Broken Social Scene Thievery Corporation, Girl Talk, Chromeo, Cafe Tacuba, George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelic, Tortoise, Holy Fuck, Grupo Fantasma, Tricky, Umphrey's, King Khan & the Shrines, K'Naan and Cloud Cult can play Bonnaroo anytime and it's fine by me.

What will Ryan Adams do when music from another stage bleeds into his, or if the audience is too loud, or the glare from the ferris wheel gets in his eye?

There are a couple of ones in your list I would have different, but yea. There's a handful of bands on the line-up I wouldn't mind. Especially Public Enemy and Bad Brains.
the website says that shows will end at midnight so i'm thinking that even if they don't have headliners to announce, there still should be quite a few bands left to announce. this is of course dependent on how many stages they end up using
All of the artists listed should be playing at the actual festival. Some of them might also be doing a latenight show at a club which will be ticketed separately.
i think that lineup is pretty good... but the venue leaves something to be desired, thus i will skip...
the thing to remember here is PFUNK, THE FAINT, THE EGG are on a festival lineup list... which means they could be playing other festivals... including the Roo...

I am wondering if the one day delay is a result of something falling through, or not getting something added. A bunch of people I would love to see on the farm. It is not as if I am going to make it into FL this year, but it was good to see who might show up for Coachella or Roo.
Still waiting on other festival lineups.
I did like the pricing, and that may explain the lack of a few headliners. The VIP price is similar to the Mile High MF, and with similar amenities. Come on Roo, give some more hint's of site improvements to help me decide GA or VIP.
ok so like.... 14 or 15 bands from Langerado 08 played Roo 08. so lets look at this lineup... pullout about 12 or so bands that we think would/should definately be playing Roo this year.
i hope ROO 09 is in for some Thievery Corp, Matisyahu, The Faint, Cold War Kids, Mute Math, Tortoise, Black Kids, The Gaslight Anthem, Lotus, Murs, The Egg, Zac Brown Band

I'll put a vote in for "meh". The headliners, while not bad, are also not ready for prime time. Certainly some decent names, but it's all very pedestrian and many of these artists have already had their shining moments at other festivals in the last year or two. I gotta agree with my buddy Garageland: their one true stroke of genius was booking The Pogues.
It looks like a rehash (for the most part) of the last couple years Lolly/Roo/VooDoo/Virgin lineups....not BAD by any means....but still not something to spend mega $$ going to....paying the prices for high season Miami hotel rooms and then having to shell out for after shows....meh. If they bring Public Enemy, Theivery, P-Funk and Lotus to Roo I'll be tickled. I wouldn't MIND seeing Mute Math, RR, Girl Talk again at Roo....Holy F*ck would be nice too! But yeah...it's definitely an (very GOOD!) undercard lineup without any REAL headliners.....

The overall reaction everywhere seams to be underwhelmed. I don't think I've seen anyone who is really psyched about it, even on the promoter's own message board.

^^^Next thing you know you will get there and be suddenly be told with no prior disclosure that you have to now wait in a long line to get a bracelet with detachable tabs that allow you to purchase a maximum of five $8.00 crappy beers, which you will be forced to drink in an overcrowded cattle pen that is no where near any of the stages... oh, wait... sorry, my bad, that was APW
