Okay, so someone over at the Coachella board claimed that the 3 acts at the top of the Superfly wish list this year are: Phish, Springsteen and AC/DC. Take it for what it's worth.
I wouldnt throw a fit about that only because i know that Roo will have tons of other great bands to see and no matter what ill have a blast, these headliners cant keep me away from Roo
*Ya know one thing I love about Bonnaroo, is that I can have completely different musical tastes than someone yet we can both want to go, and still know we will find stuff we want to see no matter who all ends up playing.

i think ac/dc is alot better than metallica as for fitting in with the roo vibe. way better than the police, too. i think they'd fill the classic rock slot nicely. very fun intergenerational band. not a favorite band of mine, but i would go and have fun.
if ac/dc is there i will go and have a good time. like i said earlier i would never pay 100 bucks to see them on tour but if they are headlining a fest that i was probablyl already going to i would definately go check it out and have lots of fun. metallica was one of my favorite sets last year because of the sheer epic-ness. i've heard for years that ac/dc is the ultimate in live rocknroll and i would like to experience it for myself before i dismiss it.
First Metallica now ACDC? who is runing superfly, Beavis and Butthead?
Yeah! I mean, Metallica and AC/DC aren't horrible bands, but in my opinion they just don't have the Roo vibe. Pearl Jam, Tool and Radiohead definitely did.

Every year theres one band, where a rumor drops right about this time and it seems way too ridiculous and un-roo-some to be true. 2007, it ended up being Tool. 2008, of course, Metallica. I hear it happened in 06 with Radiohead too....but I wasnt around these parts then.
I don't really want it to happen, but thinking about that...I think it could happen.
I dunno...with Tool, Trey had been talking them up, and they really are a pretty ridiculously psychedelic band, so they were a natural fit for Bonnaroo. I guess there was friction with Metallica, but they rocked (imho) and their fans were absolute gems.

i dont think ac/dc would be filling the tool/metallica harder rock slot, but the classic rock slot like the police. so im think ac/dc , a band akin to tool like NIN or crazier, and then phish. maybe with two sets.
In my heart I love the idea of AC/DC. Sorry I am a fan of ham fisted rock and roll. But my head is telling me otherwise. I truly think that Springsteen and Phish will be headliners. But I think the other spot will go to NIN or Jay Z. All of which would make me very happy.

If it's Springsteen and Phish I will be a very very very very happy man.
I seen AC/DC before with The Rolling Stones, Rush, The Guess Who, Flaming Lips, The new Blues Brothers band and ::bows head and mumbles:: Justin Timberlake for a whoppping $20!!!
SARSFEST in Toronto a few years back, I didn't care if I got SARS to see that lineup. Well worth it. You know Les Claypools played all his acts there aside from CCBBB and Sausage. So I think the folks at Superfly would make me and many others happy if we finally seen a Sausage reunion.
Oh the hell with it, I'd like to see a Faith No More reunion to. So get to it Superfly folks!!

I think all this AC/DC talk is just hype started by our very own message board. That guy from the Coachella board seemed to me to have just read stuff off our board. We've hyped this one up in our own head. The current AC/DC line-up simply doesn't stack up to a Bonnaroo headliner. It is the same reason that bands like Foreigner or Journey will never headline 'roo.
^^ Thats why I am thinking that they won't be there. There isn't any connection to Superfly/AC.Or MusicToday. Or anything. It's been pointed out numerious times but we started that rumor.

^Yeah, if it's AC/DC, The Dead, and Phish, the other festivals are gonna be bowing down, fully agreed.
Also agreed, I don't think AC/DC is seriously going to be a headliner this year either.
All these Phish rumors seem a little different from before, though. We have people saying Fishman said they'd play Bonnaroo, sources which have been reliable in the past saying they've heard Phish will play... I'm not even into Phish, but it's looking more likely this year than it has before...then again, Phish is reforming this year, and they haven't in the past, so who knows. I'd definitely be interested in catching them live.
And The Dead, I mean, they're getting back together, and it'd be a great ending to the Phil drama of last year...and they've headlined before. If the Dead play, I'll be there.
I think mojo's right, though. While Phish and The Dead would counterbalance AC/DC, I just don't think AC/DC will actually be there. Maybe a cover band like Lez Zeppelin?
