Phish + The Greatful Dead + Jay-Z Nine Inch Nails + the Allman Brothers + Weezer The Chemical Brothers + the Flaming Lips + Franz Ferdinand
I don't know who else may agree but I like the Jay-Z idea. Maybe he could show a certain spoiled hip hop baby how a late what stage set is supposed to happen...
Jay-Z backed up by The Roots, and including Black Thought of course.
I feel like Mos Def could be very possible, The Ecstatic is supposed to come out this year...
mos def is about the only hip hop i would get excited about. especially if it was with talib kweli. those 2, wu-tang, outkast and nas. that's all that excites me in hip hop anymore.
Adele seems unlikely. They very rarely rebook female acts, let alone in back to back years. I haven't done the research on this but they also rarely book The Other Tent bands in consecutive years.

I second this, Adele seems unlikely in back to back years.

Wow you have two unique lines of thought there. I have no idea if you are correct. I would like to see some evidence to back up your statement.
Well, thus far I've been able to go through female artists. I've tried to be as liberal with my interpretation of "female acts" for the sake of transparency and so I've inluded acts like Sonic Youth that have prominent female artists in them. Also, please realize that I tried to look at any bio listed on bonnaro.com if I was unsure of the gender of the acts but I may have missed someone or two -- feel free to correct me!
Abigail Washburn played in 2006 & 2008 with the Sparrow Quartet and in 2007 with Uncle Earl. Alison Krauss played in 2005 with Union Station and 2008 with Robert Plant and T-Bone Burnett. Cat Power played in 2006 and 2008. Donna the Buffalo played in 2002 and 2005. Gabby La La played in 2005 and then played in Les Claypool's Fancy Band in 2006. Gillian Welch played in 2004 and 2007. Nickle Creek played in 2003 and 2006. Rilo Kiley played in 2005 and 2008. Sonic Youth played in 2003 and 2006.
That seems to be about it. You can use this to agree or disagree.
I'll look into my The Other Tent theory when I have the chance.

I'll throw one out there for you guys since I know someone who is directly involved in the bookings for AC. I know a great many things now after hanging out in Knoxville this weekend. This isn't news to anyone, but Phish and Springsteen are definitely confirmed. Springsteen headlines Friday night followed by a late night set from 12-4 with Phish. Phish returns Sunday night to close out the festival. This leaves the Saturday night headlining slot still open....I know who it is, but I'm not giving that away at this point. They're pretty funky though. I'll give you a clue to a non-headlining band they are trying really hard to get...ain't no place to hide when judgment comes for you.

Edgecrusher thanks for backing up my claim of Springsteen and Phish, now spill the beans on the saturday headliner because I didn't wait to get word to the inforooers about my contact I wanted to spread the info

So if we are to assume that edgecrusher is telling the truth, and we've got Boss and Phish plus one more headliner, who does everyone think will be the third headliner?
I agree with the logic that they've gotta be at least as big, if not bigger than Bruce and Phish. I think it'll be one of these three acts:

Yeah, i was about to say, The Dead is also a very likely possibility. I'm just not sure if they'll wanna book two jam headliners. They might wanna play up the diversity. I think the most interesting lineup would definitely be Bruce Springsteen/Jay-Z/Phish. It covers all the bases, a little something for everyone. However, I'm almost certain The Dead will be there.

Prince is a possibility, however Edgecrusher used the term They're to describe the band or artist and I think that he might not have worded it that way if it was a one name solo artist.

Have you read many posts on this board? No disrespect, but we don't have a whole lot of proofreaders here and I wouldn't be surprised if someone mixed up pronouns. ;D

I think we are overlooking the potential epicness of Springsteen into a phish latenight. Also who would be doing other latenights during Phish? Would they have other latenights during phish or would they try and concentrate the whole crowd at the main stage for Phish.
