My guess is, if the Phish late-night is true, there will be other bands then. Which means it'll probably be stuff they hope could split the crowd so expect terrible conflicts along the lines of Phish vs. Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Porcupine Tree, etc. I apologize for having typed this.
Have you read many posts on this board? No disrespect, but we don't have a whole lot of proofreaders here and I wouldn't be surprised if someone mixed up pronouns. ;D

Oh and it would have to be Zeppelin or Floyd for them to be on a higher billing than Phish at Bonnaroo. I'm not even sure The Dead would be above Phish.

Edgecrusher thanks for backing up my claim of Springsteen and Phish, now spill the beans on the saturday headliner because I didn't wait to get word to the inforooers about my contact I wanted to spread the info
I think we are overlooking the potential epicness of Springsteen into a phish latenight.
It would be epicness of unprecedented magnitude! I had pretty much accepted it would just be Bruce and Phish as headliners and that's all(and really great). I hope we are not setting ourselves up for a big disappointment.
I think we are overlooking the potential epicness of Springsteen into a phish latenight. Also who would be doing other latenights during Phish? Would they have other latenights during phish or would they try and concentrate the whole crowd at the main stage for Phish.
My guess would be the Which stage would be silent, but the Tents will have acts. seems like a reasonable compromise.
Also, oh please god let saturday's headliner be Prince.

Hmm, a "funky" headliner could also very well be Red Hot Chili Peppers. A few people have brought them up in the clue discussion thread. Could be a stretch though, considering they're quoted as saying they have no plans for anything this year.

As much I would like to give it away, I would further jeopardize my friend's career and I can't do that. I only said what I did because so many people on this board were right about their speculations. Not enough people have even come close to guessing the Saturday night headliner. When I said "they're," that was meant as "they are," as in more than one person. It was not a misuse of grammar.
Do you really wanna know who it is? It takes all of the fun out of that buildup until Feb. 3rd.
I will say this...I'm not a big fan of Phish nor Springsteen, but it will be cool to see them. If your in the same boat as me, I can guarantee you will love Saturday night!

I like all kinds of music, but the majority it lies on the heavier end of the musical spectrum. Straight off my facebook...believe me there are many more.

^^^Calling them funky was a big clue. There aren't that many bands big enough to headline that one would consider funky.
Prince, Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sly & the Family Stone (not together), Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters, Talking Heads (not together), Daft Punk (sort of), Dr. Dre, Outkast (also not really together), Janes Addiction (rumored to be getting back together but more likely at Coachella or Lolla)
