In case it hasn't been mentioned, No Doubt just announced a summer tour. No dates yet (except a NJ festival in May). I'm not a huge fan (wife is) and I'm not certain that they're "headlining" big, but they certainly would fit the "funky" moniker.

I could totally see the Fleet Foxes on Thursday night.
I'd really like to know what those White Stripes/coachella rumors are based on. I've seen it in a couple different places, but never with any evidence.
"It's hard to say whether seeing Kellz backed by Jim James and his lion's mane hairdo or Billy Idol rocking out next to John Oates and his soul patch was weirder to watch. Let's just say both were beautifully bizarre sights to behold."

Fleet Foxes Thursday would be really crowded, like the Vampire Weekend set last year. Maybe FF can play early tent on Friday or something.

Why Lil Wayne? I know he is huge right now but I would be really surprised to see him there. I think Snoop takes the big name hip hop act this year.

Fair enough, I'm definitely not complaining. I'd watch Lil Wayne if he was there.
I really hope the leak is true I wanna see David Byrne and Leonard Cohen so bad......i'm trying to find a link right now but cannot so it might be fake but I pray its not........ minus the lil wayne of course.

There actually isnt anybody on that list that I would be opposed to seeing. And I would love to see David Byrne, Snoop, Animal Collective, and The Beastie Boys.

Lil Wayne I highly doubt. He played (was supposed to play) Boston recently. He supposedly had an issue getting through security....regardless fans watch his posse dance around on stage for 3 hours and got zero Lil Wayne...Sound familiar?

I forgot about that but had heard about it. Hopefully Bonnaroo looks at a band/musician's record as far as being on time and willingness to play a show since last year.

or write it into the contract that if you don't show up on time or perform you get 0$ and can be sued for breach of contract

then nobody would get paid. I've yet to see a show at Roo (or other concert/fest) that starts on time. There's always 10-30 minute gap from the scheduled start time

i think there is just a difference between 25 minutes, and 2.5 hours. The guys that are 25 minutes late are backstage drinking a beer, or just warming up or w/e they do...the MAJORITY of the artists that play bonnaroo are usually there the whole day that they play, just checking out other bands.... but we've only had one that was at another party in another state two hours before his scheduled appearance at the roo

I don't think I've ever had to wait that long for a set to start except for Kanye and The Wood Brothers last year because some of their equipment got wet.

Yea I know. Was just trying to point out that a contract thing for on time wouldn't work. Half-joking too.
Kanye being in another state that day and then demanding everyone else end is ridiculous. don't want to repeat it

Heh, about a month ago, I actually spent a night hanging out with the security guard who gave him shit. He said that Weezy's entourage all went through the metal detectors just fine, but that Lil' Wayne refused to - so the guy said "if you don't come through the metal detectors, you're not getting in. End of story" - so after some arguing, Lil' Wayne just walked away.
Personally, I love Lil' Wayne, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want him at Bonnaroo.
Lil Wayne would be an extremely polarizing act to book at Bonnaroo. A lot of people already just flat out don't like him, and he's known for flat out dicking around on stage live.

Saw the Raconteurs open for Dylan in '06. Decided to queeze in one more beer...got to our seats by 745(730 on the tix) and missed 1/3 of the set....Will never make that mistake again...

But it seems like they seem to book one or 2 acts every year that are polarizing, I think he'd be the WTF addition to the lineup
