Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I asked Tom Morello last night if we may see him at Bonnaroo this year. He said "ehhhhh... They havent asked me yet. But I had a great time playing last time!"
So, a Tom Morello appearance doesnt sound too likely, but I wouldnt totally rule it out.
He did do a song with Boots Riley for a new side project called "Street Sweeper" that was fabulous. He said a CD for their project would be out early next year. Maybe that would be a possibility?
Yeah, I don't see RATM in the cards for Bonnaroo anytime soon. They're too combustible at this point. I think if they release a new cd, and tour behind it, it will normalize the energy of their shows again. Then I could see them finally playing Bonnaroo.
Yeah, I wasnt really hinting at a Rage appearance, although I still would enjoy that.
I was majorly impressed by his Nightwatchman set though. I was expecting it to be mostly acoustic, but he played with a full band and busted out some crazy awesome guitar solos.
He even threw a little Rage and Audioslave in to mix things up a bit.
I'm starting to get really anxious. I just want an artist leak. The Stagecoach lineup came out. Of that lineup, I think possibilities for Bonnaroo are Earl Scruggs, Reverend Horton Heat, Pure Prairie League, Jim Lauderdale & The Dream Players, and Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band

Well this is my first post but as as a veteran of the Bonnaroo festivals I've been telling folks that Phish and The Dead are very 2 likely canidates to play next year. This was right after The Dead did their first Deadheads for Obama show and right before Phish announced their 3 Day stint in March in VA.
As far as ACDC and RHCP are concerned, I wouldn't mind seeing them there. I mean it's better then Metallica at Roo. Not to bash Metallica as I like them, but at Roo? They could of had Zepplin, Pearl Jam and Pink Floyd all headline last year and I wouldn't of gone. Chilli Peppers I like, but if they don't play Roo then in all likely hood they will play a night at Lolla '09 with Janes Addiction.
Now as far as bands I'd like to see there well here is a small list of bands that would fit the bill in my opinion and bands who have never played there or have once:
Dinosaur Jr., Meat Puppets, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pelican (who played last yrs Langerado suprisingly), Lou Reed, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Clutch , The Replacements, Patti Smith (saw her in 04), Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bernie Brains (or Primus or any Claypool band really), Praxis (again) and can list more.
NOW the 2 acts who I'd love more then anything to see there is::
TOM WAITS- They been rumoring him there for years now and heard last year the All-Star Jam band played a bunch of his songs. Is that true? If so it's time you get him on the bill. Because he is amazing to see live. Plus he doesn't tour to often and I want to see him again.
THE MARS VOLTA-I didn't go to 06 so missed them there, but seen them a few times live. One time they opened for RHCP on Halloween in Cleveland a few years back and it was like "well i can go home now." Seriously if they play they need to play at night, because any act that plays after them is just gonna be a let down for me. Probally cause my brain will have been so overloaded with their intense live act and insane playing that I need to rest it afterwards for the night. Most ppl don't care much for them, but if you see them live (or have) it's almost on the same level as Tool @ Roo in '07. Not quite, but damn close.
That's all for now, thanks for listening or rather reading.
PS-Rap Act: Wu Tang Clan? Anyone? Maybe Public Enemy? Maybe some hip hop and get De La Soul to play? That'd kick some ass right there.
Mars Volta played late night in 2005, not 2006, on the friday after DMB played. Just an fyi. They did play Vegoose in 06. Both shows were pretty good, but Roo was better. Though they had to come on very late at Roo (almost an hour) due to some technical issues.
ok so lots of folks might have already realized this but i've noticed how lineups are similar on the "every other year" basis. i mean seriously you can compare the 08 and 06 lineups or the 07 and 05 lineups and notice that for the first eight to nine lines of names on the lineup there is (for the most part)at least one band on each line that has played two years earlier.
example: 08 and 06 shared - Phil Lesh, My Morning Jacket, Death Cab, Les Claypool, Ben Folds, Umphreys Mcgee, The Disco Biscuits, Donovan Frankenreiter, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk
07 and 05 shared - Widespread Panic, Bob Weir and Ratdog, Kings of Leon, Gov't Mule, Galactic, The Black Keys, STS9, Keller Williams, Old Crow Medicine Show, John Butler Trio, Brazilian Girls, Tea Leaf Green and probably more that i havent noticed
this might not mean a whole lot since a lot of these bands also played consecutive years like Govt Mule or Umphreys McGee
but i guess the summarized point is we should be examining the 07 lineup because i think a lot of returning bands will be from 07 and also a lot of bands from 06 that did not come back in 08. just something to do while the leaks and rumors are slow i guess.

I flew from Detroit (transfer) with Jacks' wife, kids and Nanny sitting in front of me. My friend gave up her seat so they could sit together. I helped to entertain little Henry the whole fight! (LOTS of PEEK-A-BOO ) They were all on their way home to see Daddy at Bonnaroo! I never told them I knew who they were...
Jack lives in Nashville and LOVES Bonnaroo... I wouldn't count it out

I really hope if Kings of Leon are to return that they are not given the What stage again. Hell, they belong in one of the tents. I was everything but impressed at my highly anticipated KoL show at Roo 07.

^^^ Funny, differing opinions, me and my friend had never heard of them, and therefore had no expectations at Roo... but we both thought they were great opening up the What that day
Tent or stage, I would love to see them again, in a place where I don't have to choose between a beer and a show on a hot summer day (APW )
No way Kings of Leon is in a tent... They are entirely too big at this point, with a top 10 album, headlining arenas in Europe, and coming from a short distance away... If anything, they get a bump up this year to pre-headliner
