OK, now I'm pissed.
I e-mailed them to try to get some word on when the DVD would be in the mail/why it was delayed.
First I got an automated response that told me absolutely nothing informative. Then I got an e-mail stating that my e-mail was undeliverable because Bonnaroo's inbox is full. That's bull.shit. At least check your damn e-mail. You do have an obligation to your customers.

Hey maybe they'll come just in time for you to order your special Bonnaroo 2009 DVD! It would make for an excellent gift to all those that didn't get 2008 DVDs!

I agree with Bonnaroo Detective..this is BS...I already know that the DVD itself is going to suck but at least get it to us paying customers. It's a good thing that they have all these great bands to keep them from going broke, because the way they treat their "cash cow" wouldn't fly in a lot of other areas of the business world.

Any reason for this? I got it for Christmas for someone who couldnt make it to roo because they were ill. Bonnaroo pretty much screwed that gift up. Not only that there ineptitude of handling of this screwup is irrational.
I'm just curious, how many of you actually purchased your Bonnaroo tickets in February thinking "Oooh, the DVD would be a great Christmas gift 10 months from now!"

i did. but just fo one person who couldn't make it. When they advertised it they did so saying it woul be out before christmas.. They failed and I got screwed.
We are excited to introduce Bonnaroo 365, a program by which fans can relive the Bonnaroo experience year round! Select performances will be streamed periodically at no charge on bonnaroo.com. All performance footage will be taken directly from the festival’s exclusive master tapes while the audio will be remixed from Bonnaroo's pristine soundboard recordings.
The first installment of the program begins on January 11th, 2009 with The Raconteurs...
So, we basically should have all saved our money and waited for free access available before we receive the DVD we ordered last year?!

Just because I really think they are going to try to have it out by mid January. It was supposed to be out by mid December and if they wait until the end of January people are just going to get more pissed. That's just why I'm guessing mid jan. But who really knows!?
I think by now, some kind of message about an EXACT date would make sense....They have to have a pretty good idea of when it will get sent by now...do they not????

After several attempts, I finally got an e-mail back from them:
Dear Mr. Detective,
We sincerely apologize for the delay in sending out the Bonnaroo 2008 Commemorative DVD. Although we initially anticipated that the DVD would be ready to ship by mid-December, some unforeseen issues have prolonged the DVD's release. The shipping date has been pushed back at the request of Kanye West. Initially, the DVD was set to ship in the late afternoon of December 13th. However, upon learning this, Mr. West demanded that we change the release date in order to concur with release of his new documentary, "Fake Ass Rappers and the Kiddies who Love Them" (co-produced by Jerry Springer). Always willing to comply with the demands of a prima donna pop-star, we gave-in to Kanye's request. As a result, the DVD release date was pushed to the middle of the night, December 22nd. However, upon viewing the completed footage, Mr. West complained that our cameras made his face looked too fat and that, "YO THAT DVD AIN'T REPPIN MY LIGHT SHOWS DOLPHIN BUTT!!" Thus, at Mr. West's request, we have been extensively retouching the DVD to make Kanye's face appear thinner; as well as adjusting the brightness/contrast, in order to make it appear as if Kanye's performance actually occurred in the dark. We then overdubbed all the original audio to include new remixes of Kanye's songs that he made, drunk, in his basement at 1 am with Little Wayne. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the delay, and firmly believe that Kanye will be happy with the final product.
