I once had an argumentative opinionated discussion w/ bonnaroodetective and while he totally turned me off to posting on this board I definitely agree w/ his take on the tracklisting and total rip-off which is considered the "commemorative DVD". I almost always had that feeling that this was gonna be a joke considering the Fuse footage and the sketchy nature around the details of the DVD. Bad form Superfly.

I hate to see this - why let one person turn you off from posting on a board when there are so many other great people on here. There are several on here that i don't care for - It's not going to keep me from posting here - I just ignore them when I can

I like reading and taking part in discussions with people who have a wide variety of different opinions from mine. This place would be boring otherwise.
I don't like people who "feel sorry for me" or tell people to "chill out" or that they are "flat out wrong" etc, simply because they stated a view that doesn't agree with something that's popular (or unpopular) here. I think it's disrespectful, especially when directed at a complete stranger... and I hope I've never been guilty of it ...if I have, I apologize
In any case, it's never gonna stop happening, but here it does seem at least a little less frequent than on a lot of other boards... ignoring whenever possible is the best option.
Also, insulting someone is never going to get them to agree with you.
Sorry, this has nothing to do with the track listing or the DVD in general...

My apologies. I argue with everyone, and it wasn't anything personal. I tend to be an instigator, and by no means wanted to turn you away from this community - that would be very un-roo like.
Doesn't seem like anyone has mentioned this... the "One Better" from the Les Claypool set was absolutely amazing. I will be ecstatic to have that on video. They could have just put that on the DVD and it would be worth the $10. Even those of you that are sick of Les will be impressed when you see this.

agreed 100000000 percent mothersky. That 04' dvd. W/ dmb, the dead, mike/leo, and some others is absolutely great. I wish i owned that movie so bad. Every time I watch it i get goosebumps and stuff. That dvd was what peaked my interest in the festie world. (airing on concert.tv before roo' 07). I really love that movie.
I guess thats why my expectations were so high. And on a side note. WHY WAS THERE NO PRAXIS on that DVD???!
Mulchies...did you see BOTH discs of the 2004 DVD? Cause Praxis WAS on there! ;D And if you'll PM me your snail mail addy maybe the Bonnaroo fairy will make something show up in your mailbox sometime soon...maybe a few somethings!

I continue to be disappointed that I don't have the DVD. They could at least give us a shipping date or something. This delay seems inexplicable, and it seems like Lewis Black got his copy a month ago, so where's mine? I hate the fact that Superfly feels the need to give us the least amount of information possible. "The DVD is delayed, you will get it in January" OK, great. Why? At least tell me why. Like, "oh, we are taking extra special care to make it kick-ass" or "we are making a 'Kanye Sucks' montage". Or at least tell me the dates the DVD will ship. How can you not know that by now? The festival ended almost 7 months ago. Every time Superfly screws something up, they barely acknowledge that it happened. I want an open and transparent administration, not this Geroge Bush s.hit.
I know I've complained about this already, but like I said, I ordered one as a Christmas present. They don't have much of an excuse for this delay.

I'd be pissed off too if they pitched it as an excellent holiday gift and it still hadn't arrived. I also would've emailed them and asked what they plan to do to fix that situation for me, since presumably a close friend or family member's christmas gift did not arrive on time when ordered 7 months prior to the day.

Strum, what happened to your karma?!? Every time I used to go to Exalt you I would leave it alone (because it was at 420). Now I find it at 424 . . . what should I do?
And yea, I e-mailed them yesterday, although I doubt they will do much to appease me. I will gauge my actual level of frustration based on when the DVD arrives, and how good it is. If it is worth the wait, I'll shut my mouth.
But seriously, last time we got something this late it was Kanye West . . . and he sucked.
I had a similar situation happen to me from Warner Bros. I ordered a DVD for a Christmas gift on 12/18 and paid for the express shipping (arriving in 2-3 business days). 23rd - nothing. 24th - nothing.
Finally on the 30th I sent them an email and they emailed me back saying it was backordered and it might be an additional 30 days but they offered to refund the purchase and cancel the order. I told them that I was bummed that they failed to contact me since it should have been pretty likely that theis was a gift and there was no indication that the product was out of stock. I cancelled the order.
On the 2nd I got an email saying that the product had shipped on the 30th. No indication that we there had been any previous communication. No apology for the delay.
Worse yet, if they did ship it it went to work. Now I've got to go to work (I'm on vacation until next week) to get a DVD that I needed a week and a half ago and have cancelled!!!!
(This is a long way of saying that I feel your pain, BonarooDetective!)

dude I have no idea what's going on with that... I saw it the other day at 421, and then it jumped up to 424. I mean, I guess I shouldn't complain too much... Apparently others have problems with being smited, whereas my problems seem to be the exact opposite.

The track listing on the DVD should be an indication that NONE of us would have ever given it as a gift. I am excited about seeing The Lee Boys however, how many people would rather have someone else (prob. alot)?

Does anyone know of any other DVD's of Bonnaroo 08? I'd definitely be interested in an "unofficial" DVD since it would probably be a lot better footage.

Damn you nice people that like what I say!
uh-oh, you're up to 426. This is getting out of hand.

I agree. After seeing the track listing, I am less excited about giving this DVD as a belated present.
As I mentioned earlier, The Lee Boys have already released their own 'Live From Bonnaroo' DVD. So if you are interested in seeing them, you can get their whole show on DVD. That is part of the reason for my frustration. Why include someone on the DVD who already has their own? And yes, I would much rather have Randolph than the Lee Boys. The Lee Boys are RR lite.
