Hello everyone! I'm new to the board, but this site helped me enjoy my first Bonnaroo this year so I wanted to say thanks. I'm debating on VIP or regular tickets for 2009. How many people are buying VIP tix on Thursday, Dec. 4th?

Just saw the post on myspace. Really excited. I really want to, but money is tight. It's such a good deal though. I mean you don't save that much from last years ticket ('08 229.00?), but it's the thought of knowing you have secured your place.

Money is definitely tight this year, might have to wait till after the holidays to get my tickets. One way or another, I will be back in Manchester in June. The whole Bonnaroo experience is just too much fun to miss, regardless of who is playing.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
What a nice way to wake up. I'm seriuosly considering the VIP payment plan. If not then I am sure we will get them GA ... either way. I'm in for thursday.
Oh welcome to the board metrocknroll. Karma for the info.
The girlfriend and I are definitely buying GA tickets on Thursday... it's not a huge price drop from last year, but just knowing that our spots are secured will help keep our heads from exploding. We're seriously too excited about getting back on the farm for it to only be December.

Anyone else notice that they did away with including the food for VIP..now they have some sort of food upgrade.
Also, if the Phish rumors are true, this return to earlybirds before the holiday could have a lot to do with Bonnaroo giving the diehards a chance to get their ticket before the soon to be Phisharoo hullabaloo (especially for the VIPs which are sure to sellout quickly).

That's way too heavy of an early bird price for me. Blow me away with the line up, then I'll see how much I can scrounge up. I just hope by then tickets aren't near the $300 mark
Yeah, with the sort-of-steep price of these early birds, I've got a sinking suspension that when tickets go on sale next year, they'll be significantly more expensive.
By the by, I can't remember; how much did Early Birds for 07 cost as opposed to the normal price for 07?

"A limited allotment of general admission tickets for the 2009 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will be available through a special holiday pre-sale starting on Thursday, December 4th, 2008 at 12:00 PM eastern for $209.50 plus applicable fees. After these specially priced tickets are sold out, tickets will continue to be sold at the regular 2009 festival ticket prices of $224.50, then $234.50, and finally $249.50. Tickets will only be available at each price range while supplies last; all price ranges may not be available during our regular on-sale in late January/early February."
I'm pretty sure these are the exact same prices as last year... or at least, I paid $209.50 for my 1st tier ticket
... and,
"VIP tickets for the 2009 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will be available through our special holiday pre-sale starting on Thursday, December 4th, 2008 at 12:00 PM eastern for $1,349.50 per pair plus applicable fees"

I dont remember the exact dollar amount of what I paid...maybe $125ish..or $140..it was an awesome price though and saved me probably $100 off the 3rd tier of tickets for 2007.
Also, if the Phish rumors are true, this return to earlybirds before the holiday could have a lot to do with Bonnaroo giving the diehards a chance to get their ticket before the soon to be Phisharoo hullabaloo (especially for the VIPs which are sure to sellout quickly).
This is exactly what I was thinking when I saw that they were doing the early birds... release some tickets before the lineup hits so they can make sure to get the hardcore 'rooers before a mass fan base realizes they need tickets for the festival as well.
Yikes, VIP tix are $150 higher and they're doing away with food? There better be some major improvements to camp size, bathrooms, and showers to make that more appealing.
I'm just not willing to make a commitment to blind-buy tickets to Roo so I can save (at most) $40, especially since money is tight at the moment. Besides, it's not like buying tickets early will get me a better seat, like it would at an ordinary concert.
Does this mean Lewis Black will be back this year?
I really hope so, I think it's an extremely good possibility given the video. Lewis Black is one of a very small handful of comedians who could draw me away from a band I really wanted to see.
