I wish they'd give us 3 names whether big names or small names just to get a little taste of whats to come, ill get it anyways because Roo is Roo and nothing can compare.. i've spent money on food before I got to eat it so I suppose I can do this
So if the pre-sale does really well, all the 1st tier and possibly the 2nd tier tickets could be sold leaving only 3rd tier tickets for after the line-up is released?
Sounds to me like they have a certain number of early bird - then when tickets go on sale for real - they will be 224.50 for a certain number and when they sell out - the next tier price and so on.
the payment plan is also a little more than you think.....
per bonnaroo.com
Payment Plan Schedule* Payment 1 $90.90 including all fees DATE OF PURCHASE Payment 2 $50.00 Tuesday, February 10, 2009 Payment 3 $50.00 Tuesday, March 3, 2009 Payment 4 $50.00 Tuesday, April 7, 2009 Payment 5 $50.00 Tuesday, May 5, 2009 *Based on the purchase of one ticket.
Looks like you'll be right at $290.90 with the payment plan once it's all said and done.
Even if you get a regular ticket at the highest tier, it's still cheaper.... (249.50 + 23.10 (ticket fee for every ticket) + 10.00 (cheapest you can get for S&H) = $282.60 still cheaper than the payment plan)
I think these are not really Early birds per se just the first tier tickets. There are never many, but maybe this way people who have been saving can get a tier one a little cheaper this year.

Man I wish I had known about this ahead of time. Can't swing the duckets this month. I wish I knew if we were getting a holiday bonus this year. That would make it a no brainer, but with current economy it's not a sure thing.
btw are people still seriously discussing phish at roo??? lol
seriously?
if they were to play a fest besides their own i doubt it will be roo. they can throw a fest twice thew size of roo 08 with just them. not only will they have their own fest becasue it makes for a different fest. everyone there for one reason. one band. also there is always the money from not paying other bands and what not. and the most important reason of all is that roo cant have phish. it would be far too big. maybe if phish headlined all 3 nights to keep everyone but phish phans from coming they could get away with it but its never gonna happen... atleast not at roo. it wouldnt surprise me too much to see a phish fest on the farm. but it wont be bonnaroo

I'm going to have to wait till after christmas to buy my ticket. I'm broke and need to buy presents, so all the money I get for Christmas will be going straight to my bonnaroo ticket. I just hope the first tier of tickets don't get sold out by then.

Yeah seriously, if you think they wont go play a show for a couple Million bucks you are still living in LaLa land from your last trip, to a festival.

This is the first year in my Bonnaroo history that I am not willing to buy an early bird ticket. I'm not buying anything without seeing a line-up . . . especially not when the headliners could be Staind, Nickleback, and Papa Roach.

its not that i dont think phish wouldnt do it for a large amount of money its that phish alone would max out the farm. you would have to do away with the "diversity" that roo has become known for. phish at roo would sell it out very wuickly and thousands would show up with out tickets. its just not possible at roo. im positive of this. a phish phest on the roo farm in september as part of the phish tour sounds more reasonable and could be within the capacity of the farm.

since phish is doing an entire summer tour, would so many people really flock to bonnaroo to see them? They would have other chances throughout the summer, and they wouldn't have to pay all the extra money to attend a festival as opposed to a phish show... Hell, i'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a 10,000 lakes phestival, i mean, is it completely impossible? Maybe i just don't realize how huge their fan base really is.
But if they can sell a bunch of tickets in this presale before they announce the line up, it could cut down on the amount of Phish fans that can get in... which could keep the festival from being overrun (not that Phish fans are anything bad, just saying).

But if phish is there, will you be there Keith?
hmmmm... thats a helluva a question. i just might have to sneak in. im 99 percent sure that phish will not play roo. but i wouldnt even want to give my money to superfly for a phish phest either. id just have to sneakl in i guess ;D im pretty sure i could convince them my wristband fell off.
That's what I was thinking^. If Phish does do a big tour and Bonnaroo just happens to be the only festival they play, Roo will sell out quickly. I know many, many Phish fans would jump all over the opportunity to see their favorite band in a festival setting.
However, only if Bonnaroo is the only fest they play, would I be wary of tickets selling out quickly.
But, we don't even have the slightest inkling of an idea as to whether Phish is even going to play Roo. Maybe Roo knows the rumors, and this is them trying to capitalize on it, even if the whole "Roo/Phish|" thing is false. I don't have difficulty seeing Roo do something like that.
since phish is doing an entire summer tour, would so many people really flock to bonnaroo to see them?
I went to my first Roo in 2006 with the sole purpose of seeing Radiohead. I was with three other people who went there with the sole purpose of seeing Radiohead and we met about two dozen other people who went for the sole purpose of seeing Radiohead. Everything else was an awesome bonus. So, yeah, I think Phish fans would do the same considering that many of them go to Roo anyway.
But on topic, I'm considering going the payment plan route. I have a feeling that even though it'll be more expensive than the most expensive tix this past year, it'll probably be cheaper than the tix for next year. I don't know. I might see if I can scrounge up 200 or so dollars in the next few days
I just know the VIP tix can go screw themselves. There aren't enough perks. I want a BJ from the headliner of my choice for that price.

Of course there is also a possibility of both A & B if they announced a Phish fest at the farm, then it would take the pressure of Bonnaroo if Phish headlined. Personally I don't think it would be as world ending as you even without a phish fest. Not a lot of the Phish Phans are going to shell out 300 bucks for a festival. Personally I would like to see them at 'roo, but I WILL see them at deer creek in July. If it is All Good weekend though I am gonna scream.
