its not that i dont think phish wouldnt do it for a large amount of money its that phish alone would max out the farm. you would have to do away with the "diversity" that roo has become known for. phish at roo would sell it out very quickly and thousands would show up with out tickets. its just not possible at roo. im positive of this. a phish phest on the roo farm in september as part of the phish tour sounds more reasonable and could be within the capacity of the farm.
Of course there is also a possibility of both A & B if they announced a Phish fest at the farm, then it would take the pressure of Bonnaroo if Phish headlined. Personally I don't think it would be as world ending as you even without a phish fest. Not a lot of the Phish Phans are going to shell out 300 bucks for a festival. Personally I would like to see them at 'roo, but I WILL see them at deer creek in July. If it is All Good weekend though I am gonna scream.
well if they did both it would help a little bit with the phish draw. but not a whole lot. i just dont think it will ever happen. logistically its just not something they would do. it would be a crazy scene. phish mashed with the "diversity" new roo is all about. they just wont do it. but hey they would never have tool or metallica at roo either. if the world didnt end when they shut down phil lesh for kanye then i guess anything is possible.

hmm, this is kinda tough. i'm definitely going to roo '09, but for me, the holiday season isn't the best time financially to buy a ticket. and $210 is barely any incentive at all to buy an early-bird. if it was something like $170, then i'd do it for sure.
i have faith that the line-up will be good, but if i can wait until late january/early february and only pay $225 vs $210 right now, then i may very well do that. but then again, there's the warm fuzzy feeling knowing i have my ticket secured. hmm....
I myself am going to try to grab the next tier, only because I'm currently in between jobs. I will however keep a closer eye on the rumors for a must buy to rope me in. Can't wait for RooTwo for me

Mannn, I really was not expecting them to sell tickets this early after they didn't do it last year. I'm not going to be buying mine now - I have no idea what I'll be doing next summer. I'm a senior this year, so I'll be graduating shortly before broo and I have no idea if I'll have a job yet and if I do I don't know if I'll be able to take the time off or whatever. And after all the money I lost on my ticket last year, I'm not buying another one if I'm not sure I can go!

this is interesting. i have to find out who else is going this year just because theres of course now all this talk of what other festivals are good and such. the idea of phish playing again, even if its not roo, is intriguing because they are bound to do something in vermont/maine if not closer, not that either are very far.
hahahah i just emailed the page to my dad saying it was a good idea for an xmas gift. he wouldnt be opposed probably because roo isnt on fathers day this year. if i get a ticket for xmas that means itd be the 3rd time (out of 4) i got a roo ticket for free. i swear i'm not spoiled i'm just reaaaaally luckey. 06 my very wealthy friend took me with him after graduating high school. 07 my dad bought me one because he felt bad he never got me a graduation gift the year before. last year i actually had to work and save money for one.

I think it sounds like just the one price level for early birds, and once they're gone they're gone. I don't know if it would be quite as small as last year's first tier since that would be sort of ridiculous.

I think the email said they can go up to other tiers in the early birds.

i wonder if there's a limit on how many you can buy? maybe i can ask someone else to buy one for me, if not! i definitely can't do it from work, they're watching our internet usage like hawks lately...

The way I understand it is they will sell early bird, 1st, 2nd, then 3rd tier tickets during the presale. I'm afraid that the 1st tiers and possibly the 2nd tiers could even sell out during this presale with all the rumors going about and that would only leave the 3rd tier for after the line-up. I don't know if they will start back at the 1st tier when the line-up is released but I doubt it.
ahhhhhhhhhhh, should i go into work a couple hours late to buy my tickets??
decisions decisions...... being a grown up can kind of suck sometimes ;D
I hear there's this crazy illness that just leaves people bedridden on the first Thursday in December until around noon or so, and then suddenly like clockwork they're well enough to go to work. I think you're coming down with that.
