Sad that Ultra was announced before Langerado. Some great names on here,Should be a fun weekend.
March 26th & 27th Miami Fl
Bloc Party Busy P Carl Cox Crystal Castles Cut Copy Deadmau5 Marcos Carnival Matt & Kim The Presets Roni Size Reprazent Rordigo Viera Santogold Simian Mobile Disco Tiësto The Ting Tings Hercules And Love Affair More artists TBA.
I don't know who most of those are, but that doesn't surprise me. I'm sure I'd still have a good time. I still haven't made it to Ultra, work always seems to get in the way. Maybe I'll make it for one day this year.
Well, I'm bumping this. Now that Langerado's lineup is out, how do the two compare?
Anybody in on Ultra for sure yet?
Ultra's lineup so far is a lot more exciting for me, Lang has some good acts, but most are repeats for me, or I can see in other places (like Girl Talk at a club show in Orlando that same weekend) Ultra has a lot more "Oh Wow!" artists for me.
and I am officialy in for Ultra now! I'll be buying my ticket this weekend. ;D Very excited.

Just got an email from Ultra a couple of days ago:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL 11 NORTH AMERICA'S PREMIERE ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL RETURNS TO BICENTENNIAL PARK IN MIAMI FRIDAY, MARCH 27 AND SATURDAY, MARCH 28 2009 THE INITIAL LINE-UP FOR UMF 11 INCLUDES EXCLUSIVE MIAMI PERFORMANCES FROM: TIËSTO · BLOC PARTY · THE TING TINGS · CARL COX · CUT COPY · DEADMAU5 · SANTOGOLD · HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR · & - FOR THEIR FIRST U.S. APPEARANCE IN SEVEN YEARS – RONI SIZE REPRAZENT The ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (UMF)--the world's leading two-day electronic music experience--has announced the dates for its 11th consecutive year: Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28, 2009. South Florida's favorite music festival, internationally renowned for its memorable live performances and DJ sets from the world's top electronic and alternative rock artists, will take place during the 24th annual Winter Music Conference at the beautiful waterfront location of Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami (the same grounds it has occupied since 2006). The initial line-up for the first night of the festival includes Miami exclusive performances from: Tiësto, Bloc Party, The Ting Tings, Santogold and--making their first US appearance as a full band in seven years--drum and bass legends Roni Size Reprazent. Miami exclusive Artists confirmed for the second night of the festival include, Cut Copy, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, The Presets, Hercules and Love Affair, Simian Mobile Disco, and Busy P. Carl Cox will also return to perform on both Friday and Saturday and will host the legendary Carl Cox and Friends arena with a full complement of special guests TBA. Many additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Last year over 55,000 dance music enthusiasts coming from the entire United States and over 50 countries around the world were in attendance, marking it as the largest ever UMF event and ranking at #14 on Pollstar's 2008 Mid Year Top 100 Concert Grosses. "The Ultra Music Festival, which started as an afterthought at the Winter Music Conference a decade ago but has now become its biggest event, more than lived up to expectations this weekend at downtown Miami's Bicentennial Park," wrote Miami Herald pop music critic Mike Hamersly in his review of last year's festival (March 30, 2008). Added the Los Angeles Times (via their blog) of the Winter Music Conference April 2, "...the highlight of the week of DJ-centric festivities was surely the massive Ultra Music Festival. Taking place...over two days at downtown Miami's Bicentennial Park, Ultra did not disappoint.”
In addition to the annual Miami festival, UMF has expanded internationally to include events in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, San Juan, Madrid and Ibiza. UMF recently added a January 2 festival in Cambriou exclusively featuring Tiësto’s only 2009 Brazilian performance.
So another announcement is coming soon. Please, please, please, The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers. Also Pendulum. and about 82937529837592873895 other acts I wanna see

I live 2 hours from Miami, so I might do one day of each, depending on my work schedule and who's playing the days I can go. I doubt I'll do the whole weekend for either fest.

that's a sweet starter line-up; and i have no doubt it will improve exponentially. ultra pretty much never disappoints. go back and look at previous ultra line-ups; it's practically a who's who list of dance artists you'd want at late-night bonnaroo.

Hm, The Prodigy is Ultra's number one friend on their myspace... good sign? ;D

Looks like I'll be missing Ultra again this year. My whole family is coming to visit that week. I never get to see my nephews, I can't bail on them to go to Ultra. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Bummer chef
I'm actually in for Ultra! The other night my boyfriend and I went to an underground party in Atlanta, and the next night he was like, "We HAVE to go to Ultra again!"
Oh, I also wanted to ad that if this is a flyer, it may have credibility. Ultra always advertises with flyers and posters before they make official announcements.
