Which brand do you like? I tried some but it was too salty for me.
It shouldn't be salty it actually has a lower sodium count than gatorade. Try a few different brands. Vito is good and you can always put lime or strawberries in it too.
Do the camelbaks do anything to keep the water semi-cool? I hate drinking warm water!
In my experience they do. The best is to fill it with as much ice as possible, then a little water. Between the thick bladder and the padding of the bag, mine stayed cool for at least a few hours. I bet you could further insulate it and increase that time.
Mine was always cold. The bladder pocket is insulated. The only bad thing is the first sip is warm from sitting in the tube. They do sell insulated tube covers, though. www.amazon.com/dp/B00437RREI
$39.44 shipped. Specifically designed for women. Holds a TON of stuff. There's a great video review. I shopped around quite a bit and for the storage space and price (and camelbak brand specifically) it was the best deal. This same pack is on zappos for $65.
My first camelbak! YAY!!
Thank you so much for posting this!! I bought one as well, in the brown/cream color scheme. I've been hemming and hawing over getting a small Camelbak + hip bag or a big one and this is the perfect size. Plus I had a $13 Amazon credit so I only paid $27 out of pocket! HOORAY!!

Thanks for the ideas y'all! This was more for when I'm going for long runs. I'd rather drink coconut water than pickle juice or gatorade. I'll test them out.

i bought that one last year and LOVED it. it held everything i needed for a full day in centeroo. and as for coconut water, someone on the boards told me about it last year so i took a few. they're very refreshing in the morning and i found them very hydrating. i've learned so much on this board!
I mentioned this in another thread but fits better here...OfficeMax has 24ct cases of water on sale for $3...next week is a bag sale (get the bag in the sunday paper or sign up for their rewards program, and get 20% off your purchase)...it brings the price to $2.40...thats 10 cents a bottle, not bad. and you can buy as many cases as you want at that price...
So what's relatively cheap and will allow me to charge my droid incredible phone while at Roo? Something that doesn't need a wall outlet.
American Spirit tent. As long as your phone fits one of their chargers (they won't plug yours in, but they have all the most popular models) you can charge it there for free and usually without having to wait like at the centeroo charging station. AND it's air-conditioned and you get a coupon for free cigs every time you go in. Win.

Really? How long will they charge it for? Like just the time you are in there or until it's fully charged (and you come back for it later)?

I'm looking for stuff that won't make me have to wait around in centeroo. That's certainly an option but I feel like i've seen things that run on batteries or can be charged up ahead of time or something. Not going to have a car so that's not an option either.

I have a Camelbak Scorpion that works really well. 70oz capacity, 2 pockets and an insulated hose. I've never had the water go warm on me, always stays cool. I highly recommend one with an insulated hose. The water in the hose doesn't really absorb the heat which in turn can warm up the water in the pack. Plus nobody likes the first swig to be hot....not exactly refreshing.

= $23 and 5 pre-charged batteries for Roo. I did this out of necessity when the prongs in my charging port broke and I was too cheap to spend the $99 to replace it with my insurance. I did it for about 2 months until I broke down and replaced the whole thing; 4-5 days would definitelty be doable.
I just picked up a portable charger for cell phones at Target today. It's the Energizer XP4001 brand and it was regularly $56.99 marked down to $39.88. It wasn't on the end caps where they usually put their sale stuff, it was in the regular spot with the sale sticker on it.
I looked up the reviews on Amazon before I bought it and they are all pretty good.
Here it is on Amazon if anyone wants to check for it while at their Target. It's $50 on Amazon.

You're the best. Thanks so much. I'll definitely be doing this.

Just the time you are in there. I mean, I suppose you probably could come back for it later, but it's set up differently than the charging station in centeroo. You don't give it to a human being; you just plug it into the charging station on your own. The 2-3 employees there don't watch the phones. You have to watch your own phone to make sure it doesn't walk off.
Usually I'd just stop in once a day to juice my phone up enough to call my husband, then keep my phone turned off the rest of the time.
