I'm pretty sure I remember people talking about this at some point in the thread, but now I can't find it..
Anyone have some suggestions for a cot? It would really only be used for roo.
I really want to be off the ground and see if it helps me sleep a little longer in the morning, and possibly skip sleeping in the tent all together.
It will absolutely help. Put something other than a tent together that protects you from the rain but doesn't hold air capitve and you're sleep will improve. Especially if you have a solid pair of ear plugs and an even better sleep mask.
The biggest problem I see with the shade vs tarp is when it starts to rain and you want to stay dry at your camp, outside of the tent.
Yeah they're definitely not weather proof "With its breathable design it will also allow water to filter through." I was thinking about fastening to the side or front of a pop-up tent.
I put my $18 and $40 LED lanterns side-by-side, and they provided the same amount of light, that is, enough to comfortably light an EZ-up. My only complaint with the Ever model is that it takes a while to figure out how to close the battery compartment (line up the arrow stickers).

Thanks for the tip - After trying to borrow a good tent/Ezy-up type canopy, then looking at a zillion tents, I caved last night and ordered both of these. Happy I can do free pick up at a local store when they come in. If they're crappy, I'm blaming jsukracker lol. J/K!!! Thanks again.

Nothing in particular in this post but check when your local REI has a "garage sale." Nashville's was today and I got super lucky finding two chairs that just needed a little TLC. They were originally $100 a piece and I got for $10 each!
Yea, a couple of times. If you've got more than 1 vehicle it will help tremendously. If not, you can try to connect a tarp from one side of the sun tent to the car with your regular tent somewhere in between.

haha, my thoughts exactly. i just use it to help shield from some sun and it really seems to help keep me cooler at roo. take it off every now and then and shake it around in the air (thats what she said). they only work if the water in them is evaporating, which is why it won't help much in the really high humidity. so living in Louisiana is pretty much literally what you are doing wrong.
Does this have a hook for a shower bag? It doesn't specify & the price makes me weary. If you can, let me know when you get it if it has one and how much weight it can hold. Thanks!!!

Well yeah. I guess my point is that Roo is pretty freaking humid too. Not Louisiana humid, but pretty freaking humid. I always figured it would have the same affect on the frog tog. Guess I was wrong.
