Any Roo vets use a privacy tent for showers, changing clothes and/or for a camp toilet? If so, recommendations on a decent one at a good price. And does the shower bag hang without falling in there?
If you don't use this, other suggestions? Thanks.
I've never used the privacy tent for showers, I tend to just bring jugs of water specifically for showering/washing off. You can buy jugs of water almost anywhere for like $1 or $2. I'll duck off and wash and clean up. Usually while my commrads are still asleep. Mostly just wash my face, hair, arms etc. Also baby wipes work great too. Those shower lines are just too long - Ain't no one got time fo dat! - and there's already enough scheduling conflicts as it is!
We are definitely bring a shower/changing tent with a wee loo in it for middle of the night "gotta go"s. There's one at Walmart for about $40. I'm hoping it will hold the 5 gallon shower bag, though. I'll let you know when we test it out.

yes'm.
i initially constructed my shower shelter out of some scavenged pvc and hung a tarp around it using shower curtain rings, but the people two cars down from us abandoned theirs in the rain last year. so i took it and, having bleached the bejeezus out of it, plan to use it this year instead. like the poster above said, you can grab one for $40 or so; i wouldn't bother spending more - just make sure you get one that stands on its own, as you won't have a tree or the like to hang it from most likely.
you can get a camp shower bag to hang in it for pretty cheap. i grabbed this battery operated pump shower several years ago and it's been awesome - just drop the pump in the bucket and you can turn the water on and off for a quick navy shower.
it's true that you can get by totally fine with baby wipes and ho baths, but even a 2 min shower really refreshes me after a long night. in our first year before we bought all the fancy shit, we just kept our beer coolers as clean as possible and took turns showering each other with the icy runoff. hurts so good!

I posted in Best Shoes as well, but I think it's worth worth repeating. CVS has all Dr. Scholl's gel inserts on sale for $10. Added some to my Sanuks and I'm very happy with the results!
Best tent for under 60 bucks? I have a pretty large tent that im sure my future neighbors wouldnt appreciate, so im trying to downgrade. I wanna be able to use this thing after roo and on camping trips. Do the walmart coleman tents hold up well?
so i bought some battery powered chinese lantern things last year and enjoyed them. one got wet , but the others situated more inside the camp were fine. not a huge amount of light but i thought they were nice. one i bought from amazon was cheaper (and flimsier) than the ones i got from this site but if anyone else uses lamps like this in their camps let me know i'm interested in shopping around

Read back a few pages in this thread, and there is a tent thread that has had some activity lately. I like my $50 Coleman from Walmart.

i bought a few of them at ac moore a few weeks ago. I think they were on sale for $2 when I got them. I imagine in addition to my string lights, that I'll be able to light up my campsite nicely!

I use a solar shower and a privacy tent but it doesnt have anything I can hang the solar shower on. If we're lucky we have it set up so I can hang it on my ez up but sometimes we dont have space to have them side by side. Anyone have any recommendations?
Be careful with the cheap privacy tents. A lot of them won't hold a heavy shower bag. I just throw mine on the roof of the car and clean up out in the open in a bathing suit.

I did that in 2012, and it worked out fine. My car is a regular car, and I'm well over 3' tall, so I sat next to it on a cooler and enjoyed the hot shower. On a hot sunny day they only take an hour or so to heat up nicely.
Last year I paid for 2-3 showers but will probably bring the solar bag again if I find a way to make it this year. I've got a bunch of PVC pipe and other things and might get around to rigging up a DIY shower. Maybe.

I just left academy, and they don't only have the $49 canopies, but they also have some amazingly cheap inflatable ground bedding. There was a personal sized blow up mat for $8, and twin-queen sizes under $20. All made by intex. This is the brand of blow up mattress/couch that I purchased and used last year for Roo and didn't have any issues with. Hope others can take advantage of these deals.
Dollar Tree here has battery powered string lights with choices of flowers, leaves or butterflies. They're about 3 feet long and run on two AA batteries. You can use them for whatever you want, I'm going to use them to pimp my ride/scooter.
Anyone have experience using this tent, or one similar? Goin solo, and not looking to break the bank, or take up too much space.
While I don't know the price, that doesn't look bad at all. I haven't owned a Eureka tent for a while, but we used the ever living bejebus out of them with a Boy Scout troop and they held up to the love and gentle care of twelve year old boys.
Does the foot-end area have a mesh window? Ventilation is the only thing I was thinking when lookin at that picture.
