Dollar Tree! Packs of Panasonic AA batteries for $1. Plus I bought a totally kickin' sombrero for $1 too. I love that store.
I can't tell you how much money I've spent at Dollar Tree on camping supplies. A short list will include sunscreen spray, a cutting board, super duper clothespins, plastic wine glasses, small snack containers, dog chain ties for extra hold stakes, a small cable lock, a small knife, paper plates, plastic cups, an inflatable pink flamingo for my flag, D batteries, bungie cords, travel sewing kit, ponchos, etc, etc, etc...

I dont know if anyone posted this but yesterday I was in Stop N Shop and they had tabletop propane grills for $19.99. I was skeptical so I bought it, assembled it...and eventually had a delicious grilled burger on it DEF go buy it if you are looking for a CHEAP propane grill!!!

I prefer to not go chincy when purchasing and EZ up! The superior, Ez Up or First Up, brands can be found around the $100 mark and provide excellent protection from strong storms that produce heavy rain, hail and high wind due to their telescoping metal framing and reasonably durable fabric top. Anticipating a nasty at Langerado 08 we moved the EZ UP over our large tent and secured the tent to the EZ Up and then both to the ground. The nasty came and went! We woke up with everything dry and upright. Others were less fortunate! Tents had been blown away in the night and those that had not were swamped in side (floating flip flops, sunscreen bottles, air beds.)
I've already started to buy stuff for next year. Purchased a 3-liter Camelbak from Steep and Cheap for 35 bucks this morning. I've been to 3 Bonnaroos and only this year did I wish I had one. Of course, I drank more this year than in the past.

i just bought a queen size air matress at target today for 12$! it wasn't coleman, but i really won't use it that often, so it doesn't matter to me if it's some off brand.

^^ I dont know if I could take sleeping on the ground for 4 days. Since I'll prob go solo this year, I think I'll just bring some kind of bedroll. Trying to do the minimal thing this year.

I have to tell you, air mattress can make a huge difference! If you do it though, get an electric pump that you can plug into your cigarette lighter. It's full in minutes and they run under 15 bucks.
Craigslist people, Craigslist. I bought an EZ UP today for $40. Used - yes. But it works. And I'll probably just re-pawn it back on Craigslist after Roo and do it again next year.

i buy a lot of things off of sierra trading post. once you start buyiing from then they give you this thing called "dealfinder" where they send you 30% off and free shipping or something. i got some emergency blankets, two water canteens that are cool leather type things with straps, a camelback, and this neat thing to heat water with your car (like for soup or coffee - heats in 20 seconds). i also get a lot of clothing. NICE name brand stuff marked waaaaaaaay down. if anyone is looking for anything specific let me know and ill keep an eye on it for you. they have different stuff marked down almost every day so you kinda have to keep your eye on things.

also..aldi grocery store often has tents and shade tents, sleeping bags, chairs..you just have to keep an eye out for the stuff because their inventory changes.
Just returned from Target with a brand new tent. Coleman, 4 person, only $40 (originally 79.99)!!! A LOT of items in their camping section are on clearance, such as: - camping chairs (I also got one of those, only $5) - Coleman LED lanterns, $14 and some change - camping stoves (can't remember the price on these) - queen air mattresses, $20 - air mattress pumps, only $14 and some change - ponchos, $.78
I recently found this website. It's all used or scratch and dent stuff. Pretty cheap stuff and a lot of it is just stuff that got returned to the store with a scratched box or something. www.geartrade.com/

I need a bigger tent and am giving my daughter my old one, so I am thinking about getting this one. I don't ever camp except for Bonnaroo so it doesn't need to be a high quality tent. It looks like a pretty good deal:
