If you're not opposed to spending a bit more money on a higher-end canopy, Amazon is currently selling a 10' x 10' Coleman Instant Canopy w/ LED Lighting for $129 and free shipping. Considering that the regular Amazon list price is $210, this is a fantastic deal. I'm definitely going to purchase one for festivals and other outdoor activities.
So I keep coming back to this canopy but haven't pulled the trigger quite yet. Do you know if it comes with a carrying bag? I haven't been able to find anything supporting the idea that it might. If it doesn't do you or someone know if Coleman or somewhere else sells a bag that would fit?

From my limited experience (1 screen shelter, 1 kids soccer shelter, 1 tent) coleman supplies a carrying bag with each of various types of shelter gear. I'd pull the trigger, it is a great price it has guy lines and looks like it can stand up to the elements.
I bought a cot last year after going through countless air mattresses and it was a god send. Unlike the air mattress that doesn't allow the best air circulation the cot does and the material on the cot didn't get nearly as hot as the air mattress come 8am when the sun is already raping your tent.

Yes, it comes with a carrying bag. When the canopy is completely folded down, it's a little more than 4' long. The legs must be quite sturdy because it weighs about 45 lbs.
edit: yes i'm 6'4" but this would be better than the shitty foam pads i have right now
Yeah, I bought my cot with the intent of using it under the canopy as opposed to in a tent.
For my last Roo (2013), I did something similar... for all of my previous Roo's I always went with an air mattress inside a camping tent... I was never able to sleep past sunrise. In 2013 I bought one of those cheap 3 way folding lounge chairs, set it under a canopy tent that had mesh walls, and just slept on it in the open... best couple hours of sleep I ever had on the farm (even slept after 8AM!)... I imagine with a cot it would be even better...

Yes. I have this one without the LED lights. Comes in a bag with wheels. It's the best canopy I've ever used. They used to sell this at Target (not sure if they still do) if you want to check it out in person.

It does come with a case with wheels, which is great 'cause this sumbitch is heavy.. By the way, this canopy has now been marked down to $103.99 on Amazon! I'm almost considering buying a third one!

I'm thinking about buying this one too. Is this a good price for it, do you remember around how much you paid for yours?

I paid $200 for my first one back in February, and $129 a couple weeks ago for my second. The new price at Amazon of $103.99 is a friggin' steal!

I got mine on crazy clearance for $50. Still pretty sure someone screwed up on that one. Deal of a lifetime!
I have something very similar to this hammock. It is by far my favorite item ever purchased for Bonnaroo. I have put mine in a tent and just let my feet hang out but usually I just set it outside of my friends tent under the EZ up and buy a sleep mask to keep the sun out of my eyes and earplugs to drown the earlybird noise out. Lets me sleep in until 9 or 10 instead of 7 every morning!
No idea on the quality of what I posted, and it says it holds up to 260. On first glance mine is a little higher quality and has lasted 4 Bonnaroos and counting! Mine also cost twice as much though sooooo yeah

I popped and ordered one this morning. Came out to $110.49 after tax w/ free shipping. Considering a regular 10x10 straight legged EZ up is going for $150+ this is a pretty damn good deal.
Speaking of good deals, have any of y'all sold any stuff (no, not drugs at Bonnaroo? How "illegal" is this, or is it just highly frowned upon? I have two tents that have only been used once or twice that I want to take and try to sell there...is there a good way to do this?

I think you'd do better trying to sell these on Craigslist or Roo Facebook, etc before the fest. By the time folks get there, they will already have their tent situation figured out.
Thanks! I was thinking maybe some people who flew in and wanted to buy tents when they got there might want them. I hear stories of people that fly buy gear and just abandon it on the farm when they leave.

Yes, they do that, but by the time they arrive on the farm Wed or Thu, they will most likely already have a tent. So I wouldn't count on there being someone who shows up at the farm looking to buy a tent. Maybe if you set it up with someone beforehand, via Craigslist or the Inforoo FB page for example...

My friends girlfriend made a bunch of hemp necklaces in 2012 and sold a good number of them before losing the rest. Every year I've gone there have been at least one or two people walking through the campsites selling fake shirts/posters or some fine glass TOBACCO pipes

I was looking at that today, does yours also fold up and have a carrying bag?
I'm debating if I'm going to buy this one and haul it over there to T.O.

They do, but they'll pick it up at walmart or somewhere before entering the farm. I bet you can find someone online that needs one and meet up with them before going in.

Yeah mine does fold up and has a carrying bag, as well as a rain fly sort of thing designed to provide shade. That is a POS though and I rarely even attempt to set it up!
It is haulable, much more so than the one you are considering, but it isn't light at all. I'd guess over 50 lbs but I can weigh myself with and without it this weekend and get back to you. The best part about that is, especially in tent only, you would take up virtually no room. You could fold your hammock up during the day and spread it out between two tents or in any roughly 3x8 foot space you can find

I have a wagon I use so can just toss it in there. I think I'll have to buy one similar to the style you have. Thanks for the info!
Don't forget about the Coleman family store. Go to coleman.com /family and enter the code 'family' for the discount. I think it's 20% off! Plus free shipping if you spend over $99.
