I started a thread for this but I thought I'd mention it here. So it looks like Deer Tick is a real likely addition. I was reading Rolling Stone and it says in the Tour Brief section Jenny Lewis will be touring with Bon Iver, Heartless B@stards, and Deer Tick May 27th- July 9th. I think this is a pretty likely addition.
I think the final additions to Roo's lineup will be making it 5 across the board for Which Stage, This Tent, That Tent, and the Other Tent on Saturday, Deer Tick and the Dead Weather will be added and of course as already stated Phoenix and maybe Cage the Elephant for Thursday.

thanks so much for doing this but omg saturday is gonna be hell. Snoop vs del mccoury, rod y gab vs mule, and ben harper vs moe. Just shoot myself in the head haha. Its all good tho I definetly know if i was put in the position that snoop rod y gab and moe would win hands down.

Sangreal, awesome new mock. I think the Which Stage on Friday could definately end up that way. I know I would be there for Ani, Yeah Yeahs, and Erykah.

yea, that will be awesome if it works out that way. previously i had no one on which stage vs. phish. but they keep adding bands to fri. so i had to do some moving around. i think it could be either yyy or tvotr in that spot. that would be great. i even thought of putting david byrne there, or him headlining which stage. but there wouldn't be anyone big enough to put on the what stage pre-headliner. i guess it could be erykah badu/al green, but i don't think so.

Yeah Raphael Saadiq is the only thing throwing all the mocks off. I don't know if Galactic will be late night or not either, I could definately see Toubab Krewe into Galactic. I still think its possible that Saadiq opens the What Stage, just because I have no idea where else he would fit in (could be the Africa tent)
Do you think that TV on the Radio could end up paired with Crystal Castles in a tent? I know TV on the Radio has a large fan base but against Paul Oakenfold/Girl Talk, Femi Kuti/King Sunny Ade, and Phish, I think its possible.
Your Saturday and Sunday mocks look perfect, I wouldn't change anything unless we get additions.
i'm wondering if maybe we already have the somethin' else acts. maybe it will be a different theme each night. fri.-african artists, sat.-bluegrass- sun.-singer/songwriter types. this would make room for everything else fri. and sat. but on sun. it wouldn't make sense, because there aren't enough artists to fill all the tents.

I don't think Raphael Saadiq is popular enough to play the What stage, the only acts I can see opening the What stage are Galactic, Tv On the Radio, Gomez.

That's what I've been thinking for some time. It does make a lot of sense for it to be african themed. Bela Fleck's myspace said a "Special Late night set in a tent" i think.
Also, huge props to you guys for staying on topic in here.
Galactic has opened the What stage in the past, I think they are a great act to be the first act of the day on What.
true, but they would be even better as one of the last bands to play inside a tent! but if them opening WHAT is fine with me i would possilbly miss them friday latenight..

I was trying to figure out Friday and I think I got it (earliest first)
What Stage
Yeah Yeah Yeahs TV on the Radio David Byrne Beastie Boys Phish (LN)
Which Stage
The Itals Raphael Saadiq The Wailing Souls Al Green Erykah Badu (possibly 1.5 to 2 hours)
This Tent
Okkervil River Grizzly Bear Phoenix Santigold Gomez Pretty Lights (LN) Girl Talk (LN) Paul Oakenfold (LN)
That Tent
Viuex Farka Toure Bela Fleck and Toumani Diabete Amadou and Mariam Toubab Krewe Galactic King Sunny Ade (LN) Femi Kuti and the Positive Force (LN)
The Other Tent
Tift Merritt Kaki King Ani DiFranco St. Vincent Luicinda Williams Crystal Castles (LN) Animal Collective (LN)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs opening the What Stage makes sense because they are big enough to do it and YYYs, TV, Byrne make sense as a theme before Beasties and Phish. I think the biggest thing is that the themes fit. Also, Ani playing earlier in the day is a stretch but the Bluegrass Superjam was earlier in the day last year and it should have be a preheadliner (in theory). I think Gomez could close out a tent as well. A bit of stretch but it all fits themewise.
Heymann I dont like your new mock, I think your other one was better. I really doubt YYYs & TVOTR are both on the what stage, maybe one but I really doubt they both are. I think if Rapheal Sadiq was playing Which Stage he would be opening it, I dont see him mid afternoon on the Which stage. Toubab will be earlier in the day as well as well as St. Vincent. Why do you think they would be after Ani Difranco? I also dont know about Gomez in the slot you have them in. It does all work out thematicly but I dont think it works out scheduling wise. Late night looks pretty good but I doubt Late night electronic will be in The Other Tent. Girl Talk and Oakenfold are going to be packed as hell I doubt they would put them in the smallest tent.
About your karma there are people who smite people for no reason really, probably because it makes them feel powerful or something who knows. I got rid of my karma a long time ago.
if memory serves me correctly it was in 2002 but wasn't officially on the schedule, and in 2003 they played the what stage at 3pm.
This is driving me crazy now...I could have sworn I remembered Galactic playing a daytime What Stage set in 02, but its not on the calender at bonnaroo.com. If someone could confirm I'd appreciate.
On the mocks, I don't see Wailing Souls and Itals playing back to back on the same stage like a lot of people have. Just seems to be too redundant and not the way they usually schedule. Someone's mock a while back had the Itals opening Which around noon and then Wailing Souls opening What in the 3:00 slot. I thought that seemed likely.

Yeah, in 03 they played What on Sunday and were like the 3rd band on What that day.
I don't remember Galactic ever opening What Stage (maybe in 02, but if so I missed it). I'll look for my 02 schedule thingy and see if they opened What on Sunday that year.

I don't know I think TV on the Radio and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are a package deal. I think they make sense on the What Stage. Last year they had Stephen Marley and the Raconteurs on the main stage before Metallica (makes sense because they didn't really fit else where. I think it's the same concept. Also, with the schedule as packed as it is, I think they both will play the What Stage. The only reason Raphael is third on the Which Stage he is much more well known than the Wailing Souls or the Itals (I think) but I suppose he could be in between those two. As far as st. Vincent and Toubab and Ani go, that's according to their most likely non generic MySpace times and I think it works that well.
With the DJs not playing the smallest tent. you are probably right, i just didn't even think of it.
If you look at the 2007 and 2008 schedules, the biggest thing that is obvious is theme, the themes always form the best match possible (or from what I saw) with respect to capacity for filling the stage or tent. I think it matchs on the mock, I would say Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, and David Byrne will draw a larger crowd than Raphael Saadiq, Al Green, and Erykah Badu (with all due respect to the artists). All though you are definately right about the DJ Tent.

Yeah I agree, that Wailing Souls and The Itals back to back is pretty redundant but I don't see either one going on the What Stage. What they might do is through Raphael Saadiq in the middle of those two to kinda break it up a bit. I think the What Stage is going to be Yeah Yeah Yeahs into TV on the Radio into David Byrne then Beasties and Phish.

2002 was Galactic Late Night but I think I remember hearing somewhere that they played a bonus unannounced set to open the day on the What Stage that year. I remember hearing that somewhere, I just don't remember where.

They did play the unannouced set to open the what stage on sunday of 2002 I was at the show I was walking by and thinking nobody is scheduled on and somebody told me thats Galactic and I though geez they just played a 4 hour midnight show like 8 hours ago, I was at Moe so I watched the show and enjoyed it, by the way I'm going to see Galactic for FREE tomorrow night at the variety playhouse in atlanta getting a ticket through volunteering for Green Apple festival.

I dont know about TVOTR & YYYs being a bigger draw then Al Green & Erykah Badu, I think thats up to debate. Al Green & Badu are higher up on the lineup then TVOTR & YYYs. I dont think those two are necessarily a package deal. I could very much see one playing What Stage and one playing Which Stage. I personally feel that neither one will be playing the What Stage but thats just me. We will see in just over a month when the schedule comes out, and about toubab and st. vincent I will just say that I dont put any stock in anything on Myspace. I still think they will both be early afternoon sets.
I hope that neither YYY or TVOTR play on the What stage. I think they would both put on better shows on the which stage. I'm really hoping for YYY into TVOTR to close out the which stage.
