2009 Bonnaroo Schedule Discussion Thread

Decemberists on Saturday???? Odd. Anyone think Which Stage may be jam oriented on Saturday similar to Friday last year? If so, I think Saadiq, Rodrigo, Booker T, Mule and Costello are good bets for the Which Stage. I think if that ends up being true, Decemberists into Wilco could be the main stage. Odd but logical I suppose. Anyone else think this may be the case?

^ I second that thought on the Decemberists; don't really see them on the What Stage, unless it's early on in the day.

Yeah, moe is late night for sure (per their site). As for Harper, he could get bummed but I doubt it. A Wilco late night is extremely unlikely, they just don't seem a late night band plus they are by far and wide the most logical opener for Bruce other than maybe Costello. I agree Decemberists seem like a Which Stage style act compared to Mule but I think they may play all of Hazards of Love, it may be more for the What Stage plus it'd be hard to get a theme going using Decemberists on the Which Stage.

No Decemberists on Sunday??? Good god Sunday is just sooooooooo weak. There has to be some people listed for Fri/Sat playing Sunday because unless you love metal or like rap (assuming PE is Sunay) then Sunday is going to blow for you. (Except for Phish.)

Hopefully the Somethin Else tent will make a reappearance as well. And there's usually finals basketball on that day in the Cinema.

Great work, but do you really think that Byrne will conflict with an act on the Byrne stage? Maybe we will get Byrne late night on the Byrne stage?

Sangreal I like your mock but do you really think TMV & Of Montreal would conflict on Saturday? Seems like they would have alot of overlapping fanbase. I def. think it will be Of Monteral>TMV in a tent on Saturday.

that's why i don't have times listed on fri. i have no idea if it's really a new stage or if it's happening on a existing stage. we know byrne is playing during the day, according to djjd and the byrne stage is supposed to be evening.

Yeah I agree, another reason I think Animal Collective will be late night to give the indie kids something to see. I have a feeling Galactic will open What Stage, or play afternoon Which Stage like Umphreys last year. I dont think they are playing late night this year.

I've been to the comedy tent the past 2 or 3 years.....usually only once a year, but sometimes i'll go back.

The thing about the line......it USED to be horrible. Think of a HUGE winding row of people waiting to get in. To get a great seat you would have to sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes (but more likely an hour) before the show you wanted to see started. you could always just walk in right as the show was starting but you were guaranteed a seat in the back. it wasn't that appealing the first few years. i only really went if there was no wait.

last year however......they changed everything about waiting in line. now you could just go stop by the comedy tent before the show you want to see and pick up a "Comedy Tent Pass" which basically is just a guarantee that you will get in.

so what we did was watch some music, stroll over to comedy tent, grab a pass, and walk right back to the tent (whichever one is closest to movie tent) to watch more music. the whole thing took 2 minutes.

then you arrive at the comedy tent when the shows about to start and walk right in....giving your "pass" to the worker at the front.


if there's nothing going on......i suggest checking out the comedy tent. there's usually 2 comedians per set (one that's well known and one that's the "opener") and it's air conditioned. plus you can leave at any point you want (though you may get made fun of depending on the comedian)

Both shows should be fun.

Yeah if Phish was not playing I would probably be leaving early this year.
