Good vibes.......lots of helpful people. Sometimes the people having the biggest parties can be rude at shows (pushing through others, bumping into others when dancing too hard) but for the most part it's all gravy. Good times, Great music.
Pre heat oven to 95 degrees. Take 2 parts GD/Phish Lot-Scene, Mix in a pinch of frat party and state fair. Bake for 2 days. Remove from oven, splash with water and beer, mix in remaining ingredients: Camping, live music, epic roadtrip, and tailgate party. Add Corn to taste, Bake for 2 more days.

Like Float trip atmosphere.. My friends and I are pretty rowdie, pretty much like to get hammered drunk as early and as often as possiable, will we be accepted or shunned by the average roo goer?

It won't be shunned necessarily, but it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Bonnaroo will exhaust you, and getting drunk as early as possible will only exhaust you even more-- and you might end up missing out on the whole point of Bonnaroo.. all the music. Moderation, my friend. :] Don't get hammered drunk as early and as often as possible.. it might not be the smartest option
Edit: And as long as hammered drunk doesn't hinder other people's good times, roo-goers aren't going to shun you. Just don't act crazy and out of hand.

Just a piece of advice from someone who made a huge mistake my first year.....do NOT get hammered early in the Tennessee heat unless you have found the cure for dehydration. I dont care what your tolerance/past drinking experiences are....its a whole new ballgame out on the farm

I love me a breakfast Guinness or three at Roo....... but, like already said, AS drunk AS early as possible is not a good idea.... not that your neighbors will mind....
wait a second..... PIERCY????? put down the vodka man.... put it down.

Thats awesome advice, thanks. It's acctually the weekend after my 21st birthday so its gonna be hard not to be wasted the whole time, I'm kinda looking foward to the camp as much as the music, can't wait to see the Boss... whats camp atmosphere like once everyone is parked and settled in, say like saturday afternoon??

If you plan on being there three or more days and you plan on actually going to a bunch of the shows, pace yer-damn-self. Start easy on Thursday, and get exponentially crunker each day. If you start out the gate to hard tho, you will end up sleeping in a mud ditch by Saturday afternoon.

You're going to have the time of your life.....if you pace yourself. You're going to wanna just go all out as soon as you get your tent set up and settled in (well probably as soon as you hop out the car) if you take one thing from this board and only one thing please let it be pace yourself.

last year was my first, and it happened to be 3 weeks after my 21st. i brought a rack of PBR figuring that sitting around camp i would drink a few beers, but i ended up bring atleast half the rack back with me. My friend whos 3x my size and drinks a lot more did the same thing. You say its gonna be hard to not stay wasted the whole time but i think youll have more trouble drinking enough to get really drunk (you may sweat the booze out as fast as you can take them in) i also didnt drink in centeroo except for in btw Metallica/MMJ to check out the B'rooers Lounge (a must do) and even that was just to taste the beer.
the crowd is definitely a big party but its not exactly a sloppy drunk party, if you know what i mean, it is a lot more mellow for various reasons
I'm going to echo what some others have said; when the sun's up, stick to beer. Maybe a couple brunch-time mimosas or bloody marys, but don't go crazy until the sun is setting. And make sure to also drink lots of non-alcoholic drinks as well. Remember, even though it'll still be late spring, it's going to be hot as hell during the day. Think high 80s or so. Alcohol dehydrates you, and so does being in the sun constantly. Factor in some sweaty, sweaty dancing and it's easy to get heat stroke.
Ordinarily, when people tell me to drink a glass of water for every alcoholic drink I have, I usually just tell them to piss off (in the nicest way possible) - but this is the best advice I could give you if you plan to drink during the day. At that hour, it's really just too damn hot to be hitting the sauce hard.
Plus, if you do decide to get drunk early, you may wear yourself out and miss the late-night shows - and that's the best part of Roo.

Same thing happened with me, just replace 3 weeks with 3 months and it's the same story. I brought a 30 rack of Coors for the weekend, thinking I would easily go through 7-8 beers a day. Well, not so much (though part of that is because on Thursday and Sunday I stuck to mostly just corn). I had a bunch of beer left over on Sunday night, so I just went around handing out freebies to my neighbors.

yes take it from an old-timer. You will not be able to hang if you drink as much as possible all day everyday. Like Clarity says you'll be passed out by sundown and miss out on the best part of the fest..night and late night thats when thing really start to get crazy. You'll want to be a part of it believe me. Alcohol and sun and heat are a terrible mix and will wear you down quicker than you might imagine.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
I like to stick to corn during the day then have some drinks once the sun goes down and it gets bearable. But pretty much follow the advice of the previous posters and try not to act rude to your fellow roosters and you will be accepted. You can even offer your neighbors a drink when you get down there or atleast to drink with you to start off on the right foot.
Whats the whole roo party atmoshphere like, is like a 4 day Mardi Gras
No it's nothing like Mardi Gras...well, it's similar in a few aspects I suppose. At bonnaroo everyone is there to have a good time, like Mardi Gras, but at the same time everyone there generally has a positive attitude towards each other. Unlike Mardi Gras where there's an abundance of belligerently drunk assholes who are just waiting to fight someone.
You won't get shunned at bonnaroo for being drunk. You'll be shunned if you're not being courteous to others.
please pleaseeeeeeee don't the bunch of rowdy frat boys who yelled U S A U S AAAAAAAAA while i was trying to enjoy jackjohnson last year... they proceeded to all urinate in cups and then somewhat splash it on me and my crew of pretty respectable girls... then went even further to insult my country (canada) and yell degrading comments at us... they were nothing short of awful, and that would get you shunned... people tend to be fairly chill during the day, and then get more heavily into everything and anything when the sun goes down....
fucking Jack Johnson, always bringin' those rabble-rousing hoodlums...
No, seriously though, that sucks that you had to encounter those d-bags. I guess you'll get them anywhere. And for the record... Canada freakin' rocks!
I promise the only time all weekend I'll be shouting USA is when I'm singing along with Born in the USA at the top of my lungs.

Eww. I hate it when people get like that. I'm all for having fun. But there is no reason to be rude.

this would be exactly what I was talking about. I have no tolerance for that kind of thing. Those boys are why I seldom go to fests. and concerts and bars anymore
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
To the op, while you're worrying about not being a frat guy, you should also make sure you aren't like the old hippie in the top hat with the hunched back in the crowd to the right of the soundboard at Phil and Friends, who kept yelling in a horrible, raspy voice,
"Alright, any'a you got tha headies, get yer ass over here! This is the zone! If you don't got em stay your ass where you are!"
"Who's got the headies, get yer ass over here!" (We heard this one a lot)
And when he saw someone he knew way up ahead, "HEY! GET YER ASS OVER HERE!"
Like yeah, that guy wants to leave his spot five people from the front to come sit with you and hear you yell at everyone to share their headies with you, which everyone will surely want to do.
So we just moved back ten feet, and it was much more tolerable, and much less audible.
