I cant wait until Bonnaroo, Thursday i am getting drunk on sweetwater Blue and 420 all night. God I love those beers. I plan on buying all of it I see at any store in Tennessee on the way back.
Unfortunately Ive never had Fat Tire. I hear nothing but good things though. And they dont sell any Oskar Blues products here. Nor do they sell....anything good in cans.
Although I did just recently have Newcastle in a can. Very impressive.
Last year I brought a case of Yuengling (cans) which I got from Pennsylvania, a 6 pack of Leinenkugel Sunset wheat and a 6 pack of Mackeson XXX Stout (both bottles). I found that to be a pretty good combination. Id love to be able to find a good IPA in a can though.
Generally when i roo i go with cheap light beer ie. pbr, highlife and bud, because when youve been partying in the sun any cold beer is the best beer. But in centeroo and at home im a total beer snob...love my IPAs.
I prefer my local brews. If I can manage to get some Amber into minikegs, I'll be set for the summer. Otherwise, I'll probably stick to a mix of Heineken for me and Bud Light for the girl. Although, she'll probably drink the BL even if I DO bring the Amber.

I'm hoping the Abita Strawberry is out by then! Yuummm....

Good Topic here. We also like to try different kinds of beers. I just started a set on Flickr last week. I am going to try to find different beers at our local liquor stores and post pictures of them. There is also a group on Flickr for beer.
We also enjoy all the above mentioned.
Here are some links. Please post some of you pictures to the group. Gene's Beer Collection
Here's a list of available, tasty canned beers (no use of the words "lite" or "ice" in their names...) ;D
Old Speckled Hen Wexford Tetley Boddington's Abbot McAndrew's Scotch Ale Fuller's London Pride Guiness Bass Ale Newcastle Beamish Young's Double Chocolate Stout Pilsner Urquell Bitburger Henniger Heineken Bavik: Wittekirk and Belgian OK (Polish) Sapporo Surly: Bender and Furious Oskar Blues: Dale's Pale Ale, Old Chub, Ten Fidy, Gordon IPA New England: Elm City Lager and Sea Hag IPA Fosters New Belgium: Fat Tire Amber Ale Caldera: IPA and Pale Ale Brooklyn Lager Big Sky:Scape Goat Pale Ale 21st Amendment: IPA and Wheat Sly Fox: Pikeland Pils, Pale Ale or Royal Weisse Butternut: Wheat Beer, IPA, Pale Ale, and Stout
I am kind of a beer geek... and am VERY happy that there is now quality beer coming out in cans. There's a brewery in Colorado called 'Oscar Blues Brewery' that makes 'Dales Pale Ale' and other excellent canned beers. Also, in NY, there's the 'Butternuts Beer & Ale' Co., which makes great canned Hefeweizen as well as their 'Pork Slap Pale Ale'. I will be bringing some of that stuff...
Never thought I'd see the porkslap anywhere else in the world!!lol,

It's really tough finding a lot of these here in this teeny tiny town! There was a hole-in-the-wall local (or semi-local, where i actually live is a dry county, boo) mom and pop place where the owner would special order anything for free (which is how I first got my Sweetwater) but a mega-huge package store opened up RIGHT BESIDE them and they shutdown a month after the new place opened They have a decent selection of bottled goods but not anything too far out of the norm canned-wise.
As much as I like Sweetwater Blue and Hummer I think i'd like to try:
Last year, the only glass we smuggled in was our home brew - a Bock that we called "Bockaroo"
But yes - there are tons and tons of good beers coming out in cans. My favorite for a morning pre noon drink on the Farm is an icey cold Strongbow (cider) which comes in a tallboy. We also brought Guiness, Dale's, and also the same makers of Dales make an ale called Ten Fifty... not too shabby. The other beer we brought which was great for mid day was Pilsner Urquell. Super for sippin on the way to Centeroo, then chuggin at the gate
Another that i HIGHLY recommend for everyone - if you're into stouts - is the Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Comes in a tall boy, and is the perfect beer for when the sun goes down, you don your jeans and hoodie for the late night shows.
Karma for the Strongbow reference. I cannot find the tall boys ANYWHERE...well other than online which is how I got them for last year. I all but lived off of the stuff in the UK.
Another favorite of mine is Sea Dog Blueberry Ale and Lancaster Brewing Company Strawberry Wheat, however both of those only come in bottles...may be worth it if for nothing more than to share the LBC goodness with those who live outside of Lancaster, PA!
ill probably just end up bringing the old standard, PBR.
There's a lot of fantastic local brews in western MA but none come in cans, unfortunately.
the only MA beer I know of in cans is sherwood forest brewing from scenic marlborough ma. they have archers ale in cans, but the other varieties are in bottles.
as for me, i will be stopping somewhere to pick up some youngling. possibly one of those giant Heineken keg cans (but of Rogue) and whoever suggested the youngs chocolate in a can - hell yes.
i was at a beet tasting recently - tried the youngs from a bottle and from a can. can was far superior due to the nitrous cartridge in it making all those tiny tiny bubbles.

what about the mini 5L kegs that a bunch of breweries put out. I know here in Philly/Jersey i'd be looking to pick up some the Bells Oberon in one of those...One of my all time favorites...i guess the only real problem would be keeping it cold because of the size of it....
yeah, its a beast. we bought one of the henieken cans like that at wally world, a disposable styrofoam cooler, and a shit-ton of ice. it was good in the short term, but not really a long term solution. you really dont want that in your cooler, since its massive.

A guy stumbled into my camp last year with a 12 pack of Yuengling, offered me one and I have been turned on ever since. I only wish it was sold here in MS. Some of these other brews I assume are only sold north of MS which sucks, although I have noticed selections slowly growing. I do search around as often as I can though for new brews.

it would be sweet if we could organize some sort of meet up and exchange some of the beers that we could get in our area...i can get plenty of Yuengling, some Dales and Fat Tire...it would be interesting to see what everyone would be able to bring..

I'm going to leave Colorado with 3-4 cases of Fat Tire, some will disappear at Wakarusa, more will likely vanish in Northern Alabama where I am meeting up with my fellow campers, I hope to have two left for Roo. Not that I'd drink it all, but nice to have something from 'home' to share with people from around the country.
I tried like heck to get Fat Tire last May-June. I thought things were set until they realized it was the end of May and I was talking about driving to the "Mothership" to pick up a couple cases the next Saturday as I left for Roo.
Rachel, from NBB, was suddenly aware - You mean this Saturday? Oh, I am sorry, we are just not ready to release it yet......
That Bass Ale is another than I've seen in cans - once. I'll have to hit all the big Denver liquor stores searching again for cans - like some homeless guy - rooting through liquor stores for cans of beer. In may case, I prefer them full and am willing to pay for them.

The only thing with the mini-kegs is that they generate alot of head...especially after a long drive that ends with stone gravel paths leading into Roo.
We clean out 2 grocery stores worth of Guiness before we come down for the day, tequila for sunset and vodka for night. Always have enough to share, since we can never finish that much ourselves
For convenience and efficiency, there are always some nice rest stops on I-40 that sell the Budweiser Select in the sexy skinny black cans. They fit tighter into the cooler.
