Guys, forget torrents. Go to Google Blog Search and type in "Grizzly Bear Veckatimest mediafire". Look for results hosted on blogspot.com. It's that easy.
Like the new album alot, probably the best album ive heard so far this year. Its got alot of layers so its only going to get better the more you listen to it, cant believe I skipped them at Lolla last year. ): Not gonna make the same mistake at Roo.
So yeah, we are kind of bummed this leaked so early. We know it's not the 90's anymore and times have changed, and we're super grateful for all the support people have shown us on the blogs and internet, but we were kind of hoping it wouldn't happen this soon.
Leaking is a tricky subject; as we all know, I've had my run ins with the law O__o (Hi, Mr. Sheriff!) I have conflicting opinions about it, as it's really complicated, but ultimately it saddens me that a bummer-quality version of Veckatimest is going around. Please consider putting your energies into a pre-order or into waiting till May 26 for the album the way we intend it to be presented.

The album is amazing and it grows on me after every listen. I can't even imagine how amazing it will sound when I buy the vinyl, but for now this will do.
On the first few listens the album seems better than Yellow House, which despite my best intentions and frequent listens I couldn't get into. Yea so, can't wait to see them at Roo.

I enjoyed Yellow House and particularly Knife, but I think this album far surpasses the last one. I am really pumped for their show and it seems like all of the bands I am really excited for have put out some of their best work early. I feel like a lot of great bands are starting, including Grizzly Bear, to come into their prime or at least drastically improving.
I could never get into Yellow House, saw them (couple songs) at Pitchfork a few years ago and thought they were interesting, but a little low key for where I was at, and skipped them at Lollapalooza. This album is just a revelation. Just sounds beautiful and classic. Excited for their Roo set.
This is looking like a pretty amazing year for new releases so far with this, Animal Collective, Akron Family etc.

On more listens, this tops Animal Collective for best record of the year. The whole thing just seems beautifully put together, and the more times you listen to the album, the better it gets. "Two Weeks" and "Ready Able" are both amazing, the rest of the album is too, but so far these stick out. "Ready Able" is a slow burn, building from the heavy reverb guitars and the sparse lyrics to the spacey synth gooey center. Just amazing.
Yes. Been listening to Veckamtimest for about a week now. So good. I am excited for their show. I just hope they don't conflict with Portugal. The Man or Yeasayer on Thursday.
