I've been hearing the Rocky theme in the back of my head the past couple weeks too. My regiment consists of jogging two miles a few days a week and training with Wii Sports on the off days. It's weird how I feel more sore playing Wii Sports than I do jogging. It's quite the workout and fun too [=

I've been running over three miles 4 or 5 times a week. Started playing tennis on a regular basis, lifting weights more and more as the weather improves. Its funny, i was talking to my friends about getting in "Bonnaroo Shape" and to us that meant trying to get our alcohol tolerances up so we could drink as much as possible. Hopefully in this method of training stupidity we can get back in drinking shape and diminish the hangover as much as possible. As for the heat, i have already given up on that battle; if i have learned anything from past roos it is that it is idiotic to attempt to take on the heat.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I usually just drink alot more in an effort to increase my tolerance. Maybe I should start hitting the gym. It's right next door.

I started working out again at the start of the year, one of those New Year's resolution things. I wasn't planning on the 'Roo until a month ago. Now I have more of a reason to stay in the gym. Thus far, I'm down from 165 to 148 and have stayed right there for the last three weeks. I've been pushing 4 days a week on cardio and my wife has also bribed me into a few spin classes. Let me tell you, they are 1hr of pure hell!!!!!!
I am pushing up the amount of 12 oz curls and extended waking periods. I have also reduced (in 4 day installments) to only eat jerky and power bars. All in all, not really changing much from my normal routine.

around here it always referred to "bum fuck east," but it's nice to learn the different dialects
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

i work early in the morning, so i figure 2 weeks before roo, ill start training by staying up later and later, that way im not tired by 11pm like i am now

My stocking job kills two birds with one stone as far as strength and cardio with all the walking/lifting for 9 hours. I also lift free weights at home 3x a week in attempt to beef up. Being 6'0 and 145 lbs. soaking wet sucks. My metabolism is such that I have to stuff my face every day so I don't wither away. Not so good for gaining muscle.
More so than gaining muscle, I'm aiming for the unquenchable alchohol tolerance and energy to stay up to ungodly hours of the morning as well.
Any suggestions on how to intergrate all these into one regiment?
So can someone share the appeal of an extremely high alcohol tolerance? Wouldn't this just mean you spend more money on alcohol and end up less buzzed/drunk? Maybe I'm missing something...
I work as a ski patroller, river guide, and mtn bike guide, so I'm in good shape and used to a lack of sleep from working full time in college and having too much fun sometimes. I'm more worried about dehydration than being unfit. It's going to take some control to balance alcohol and water in the heat. gotta stay hydrated.

Impossible, alcohol inhibits gaining muscle because it several hurts protein synthesis. Its impossible to pack on muscle and build up your alcohol tolerance at the same time.
My training consists of lying in the sun, breaking in my hammock. No working out for me, I've already got the body of a god (Buddha).

My boyfriend and I are going to start actually walking once the weather breaks a bit here in ohio. walking, situps, pushups. something to do in the evening and should help us feel ready for roo

true, but without a high tolerance you are much more likely to overdo it and end up passed out somewhere. granted its not a problem that a little self-control won't fix, but the whole point of getting drunk is to lose that, no? a high alcohol tolerance enables you to continue drnking all day/night if thats your bag.

Walking is a good idea as you will need to do a lot at Roo. Though I'm fat (yes, I admit it) I can walk miles without tiring. I'll spend a some time in the heat to acclimatize but that's it.
gtwrecded: As for building up alcohol tolerance, it helps so you don't accidentally over do it and pass out too early. The heat and alcohol can sneak up on ya. Drink LOTS of water.
