I'm using these last 60 or so days before 'Roo to get into "festival shape", like Rocky training for a title fight! I'm doing some push-ups, sit-ups, a little running. I'm also trying to get my mind clear, clean and focused (I had a tough breakup recently). But once I'm at 'Roo, it's anything goes! Can't wait. Anybody else in "training"?

Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one... I'm deffinetly going to cut back on my cagarette intake and going to make it a point to walk/jog (not drive) to the pool everyday A) to get in shape for the roo and B) to attempt to get a tan for the roo, because it doesnt matter if it is the hight of georgia heat I dont wear shorts, therefore my arms* are about ten shades darker than my legs... I must say it does look a little funny ... I'm hoping i can pull back the difference to about 5 shades by June
i actually do try and get some exercise in the weeks leading up to 'roo to build stamina, as i always spend a ton of time dancing and get a little sore the next day.
it helps if you can spend some time out in the heat/sun too so you're not caught totally by surprise. and i try and reverse-train (by abstaining) my tolerance levels to a few things to promote additional craziness at 'roo
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I've been walking a mile or two a few nights a week. I wish I had done that before last year's Roo because I was exahusted from the 45 minute walk from our tent. I have always resisted exercise but I finally admit that as I get older I need it And of course it helps with the tan! Oh and I also need to lose about 10lbs before getting married next year so I have lots of incentive.

Yes, I am in my Bonnaroo work out mode (no different than my usual work out mode I guess). I walk 45 minutes 4 times a week and do an additional 15 minutes of some light weights, crunches, stretches each workout. I'm more motivated now because of Bonnaroo and wanting to lose some weight...plus if I end up in BFE I'll be ready to walk!!
I'm betting Bonnaroo is the ultimate "diet" experience...sweating and walking all day has got to make you lose some weight!
I'm glad to see I'm not alone in thr "training" mentality. My husband thinks it's silly but he always putters out, HA!
Careful though, Year before last I was "training" and ended up doing damage to my ankles, I was trying to strengthen my legs by running, the poor things barely made it through the 'roo without snapping. So go easy people, LOW impact is the key.

I've begun bike riding everyday in an attempt to boost my endurance for Roo. after getting a two-day calf cramp after a full day at Disneyland earlier this month, I realized I would need to be a bit more in shape if I wanted to enjoy this year as much as years past. I find this a little odd since I HATE exercising for the sake of excersise, and Roo is the only thing to motivate me to get into better shape.

Me and my friend have actually started a strict training regimen for two reasons. Well, I have two reasons, my friend only has one. But, I'm getting in shape for Roo, and then, we both wanna be the spartans for Halloween, so we're trying to get like Leonitus, ha! Good luck I know, but we've been going strong for aboug 4 weeks now, it's been paying off.
It is definitely a good idea to workout some before roo. If it is as hot as it was last year, its going to be a real killer to be out in that sun during the day.
I usually go for the reverse tolerance as well, because I want to be ready for liftoff in June!

I run year-round. But in late May til 'Roo I do more. This my my temperature gets even hotter than it is at 'Roo, so I'm a little bit more ready for that TN sun.
I've been upping my workouts a bit too...but never thought about doing it for Roo. I walk about 4 miles a day to and from class and around campus / to work (and whatnot)...plus I play drums in two bands, and I hit the pool every morning before class...
i'm gonna get back into running again when the weather breaks and hopefully i'll be down to 160 from my current 170ish before Roo.
trying to get my work out in too. Time to start getting in shape again anayway and might as well may Roo an excuse. It is hard righ tnow though, lost my lifting buddy due to illness so I havnt gone in the past couple days since no one else wants to go. I guess I gotta try and get myself to keep goin no matter what

Been working out cause I gain weight after spending a week at New orleans eating a lot of yummy food. So far lost one pant size and been trying to get toned and a bit of abs. Trying to loost more weight since going to walk around in a bikini top at Roo most of the time. Been walking a lot to and from my FSU classes, taking some dance classes (pole dance aerobics and chair teasers so much fun!), crunches, playing Wii sports (work up a sweat), eating healthier (more protein and veggies less carbs), and more sex... Ha! I should look awesome for Roo.
I am working on working on a workout routine. Guess there's no better time than the present. Frisbee golf sounds good. Need to find some courses up here in MD. NC had some good ones. Miss that.

About the only training I'm going to aim for is trying to eat 3 healthy meals a day by avoiding fast food and detoxing(abstaining) my system about a month out. A week before I'm going to make sure I get more than enough sleep every night.
I've put on like 60 pounds over the past couple years (yeah, I know, I know -- it's awful). Being in a good, long term relationship for the first time ever will do that to you, I suppose. It's kind of like I took the 'comfort pounds' thing to a whole new level. Anyway, I'll be using the fests as markers to various goals of weight loss. I hope to have 12 pounds off by McDowell Mountain in a couple of weeks and then an additional 30 (or more) by the time of Roo. Come the fall fests, I wanna be back to where I was in 2005, before meeting the gf. ;D
I was embarrassed to tell people Bonnaroo was why I was working out more and drinking less beer. (Don't worry, I replaced it with whiskey) But now, there's a whole board of people just as crazy as I am. Woopeeee!
By the way, If you want to lose some weight before roo, cut out all soda from your diet. Im serious, I dropped 8 pounds just by not drinking anything but water. It actually freaking works.
I go to the gym 5 times a week and run for about an hour. I'm praying to the heavens I don't get stuck in BFE again this year. Regardless of your physical prowess, that walk will get you.
i already do an hour of cardio 5x a week, plus weight training 3x a week, so i'm not too worried about my physical conditioning...i haven't been drinking as much lately (by lately i mean in the last week) so i'll prolly do some "alcohol training" to build up my tolerance.....i should prolly start that tonight....

I'm relatively new to inforoo. What is bfe? I've seen it referred to many times and I'm pretty sure It must be where I was camped last year, but don't know what it means.
