Are we going to do an inforoo my fitness pal group? Or if anyone wants to partner, pm me. I dont know about all of you but I do better with a group
I'm still down with doing a MFP group. I can set one up, it's super easy to do. Even if it's just 3 or 4 of us, it's still a circle with a common goal for support and motivation. I'll make one as soon as I can think of a decent name for it, my brain's wiped out tonight.
Sign me up. This is just more motivation for everyone. JOIN!

You can use MyFitnessPal to log a food diary (for calories and/or nutrition), track your weight loss or your fitness goals. It doesn't require anything from you on a daily basis so you don't have to be consistent if you don't want to be.
If you're not already using the site and want to join in, set up your profile (it's quick and painless) then click on the link below. I've got the InfoFit group set up and ready to roll. Thanks to Holls for the group name!

Thanks chicken!! I think 1.5 hours of yoga is FANTASTIC. if you can manage a run after that, then SUPER good for you!!
Chico, that sounds like something we'd do too, well done sir. Yipes. Allegedly, tomorrow is "arms".... That means I'll be doing 5 million pushups and things that have me using my shoulders (mountain climbers, burpees, bear crawls... OH MY!) I'm dying just thinking about it.
Mayo sounds like they're going to kick your butt! Do you still get ridiculously sore afterwards or are you the master of it now?
So, yes, butt kicked. We did a kettle-bell relay for about forever, then it was "all on the mat"... you think that'd be nice to be on your yoga mat for the whole hour, but it's not. I usually have wrinkle lines on the backs of my wrists from being in some sort of plank the whole time. Did you even KNOW the backs of your hands can sweat???
And chico, no, I dont get ridiculously sore afterwards anymore, only the first 2-3 weeks. I asked the trainer about it, and he said it's bc my body has gone through the "break-down" phase, and now im in the building phase. Now, don't get me wrong, we'll have a day of like, "legs" and my ASSSSS muscles will kill the next day, but not my whole bod. Or like the "arms" day, the next day (today) I feel a little twinge in my delts, but that's it. I wouldnt say im a master... but maybe more than just a lowly apprentice?
Krunchykat! You CAN do it. It took me a solid 2 weeks of 1 hour/3 days a week to get over the "im gonna throw up any minute" feeling. And another solid 2-3 weeks of the "Im breathing so hard im going to heave up a lung" feeling. But you CAN CAN CAN do it. I feel like everytime Im there and I'M the one everyone is trying to keep up with, I can't believe I've made it this far. But then I remember I've been at it for 5 months, steadily. I absolutely felt like I would keel over and literally pass away many many times. And there are STILL some exercises that make me want to die before we even start (boxes. eff those effing boxes.) But I keep going. Just like p90X - keep pushing play. Then do the best you can. eventually you get better, and your best gets better. But you know you've done all you can do. and it's WORTH it. and YOU'RE worth it.

Half way through my rest week. Which isn't really a rest considering some of the excercises they have you do. I try not to step on a scale becaus i don't like that measurement as much as just looking at body comparisons. But.... down 7lbs to 183. If i can hit 170 by roo i'll be ecstatic. It'll be tough beacause i don't have that much to lose but still. So far so good
Congrats man! I am down another 6 lbs to 244 as of this morning. Had to add a week to the cycle since I missed most of last week. Keep up the hard work and you will get there!
So I umm.. umm.. I ummm... am signing up for the gym! Completely nervous about it but a friend who goes is meeting me there tonight to hold my hand and show me the ropes of the place. It's absurdly expensive and has the worst hours imaginable, but it's the best option for me. Besides that my best friend, who is also on a weight-loss journey, goes there, it's location, location, location. 4 blocks from my apartment, and one block from job number two. Fingers crossed that I am not wasting 60 a month!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Good job everyone. I'm hitting low carb today. I've been getting Dave to get me snickers or some other form of sweet every night. As a result of that and quitting smoking I've gained 5lbs and I'm craving sugar things all the time. I know it's a cycle, eat more sugar, want more sugar. So I'm trying to cut it out.
Congrats Bonzai! Going is the hardest thing. Once you step foot put the door, it is all downhill from there, but your mind will fight you the whole way. You have to get on autopilot till you make it.
My mind has me pinned to the floor right now so I dont hit the play button. I am working up the energy to do it. This thread helps give me the energy to get up and do it.

I know that feeling man. Just think to youself though. All you're doing is hitting a button... the rest will follow
I've lost 5 lbs since starting back up at the gym & my "diet" a few weeks ago. My husband is down about 5 lbs also. We aren't really dieting per se but more just watching our portions and not eating any junk at all.
The next several days are going to be challenging. Today is the start of the kids spring break and we are heading down to Asheville & Pigeon Forge for a few days. It's hard to eat well when traveling! I mean, what the heck am I supposed to get when we stop at a McDonalds or other fast food place? ugh
I was a bit depressed yesterday because I pulled out my bin of summer clothes from the attic and I can really tell I've gained too much from last summer. All my stuff is really tight. And then to top it off we were showing the kids this old video when we went out to San Francisco 15 yrs ago this month and I just looked so ridiculously skinny compared to now! I must be at least 15-20 lbs heavier. But then again I was 21 in the video and this was before kids. *sigh*

Coming to my neck of the woods, have fun in Pigeon forge!

Congrats on your progress! Let's talk about traveling and eating.
You can always pre-make meals and bring them in a small portable cooler such as sandwiches or salads that will beat the hell out of a Big Mac and those fries...no one can resist Mickey D's fries.
For 'Roo I am making a bunch of sandwiches and snacks for the 18 hour road trip and I'll splurge myself at Bonnaroo.
If you must get fast food there are always healthy choices. A McD grilled chicken sandwich isn't that bad for you, just cut out the bacon and keep the veggies. There are always choices even at chain restaurants.
swole.me/ is a great website for everyone to use. It will give you percentages for you to eat throughout the day.

I actually have a bunch of stuff packed and we'll have a fridge in our hotel but I just know that we'll be eating out several times. That's probably our biggest weakness and the problem all fall/winter season is that we ate out way too much. I wish I liked salad more because that would help with choices at dining out. I just need to suck it up and start eating them!
I lost my first 30lbs eating McDonald's on a regular basis. Couldn't do it now but it worked then!
Remember, all that matters for just dropping poundage is calories in v. calories out. What I did was work out a couple of different FF options that were 600 calories, and stuck to choosing from only those options.
If you're eating 1500-1800 calories a day, which is where most people are when losing weight, a 600 cal meal is totally reasonable, won't break the bank and keeps you from feeling deprived.
For 600 cals you can get:
a plain double hamburger & small fry cheeseburger & small fry 6-pc nuggets & small fry & 1 sauce 4-pc nugget & medium fry 1 snack wrap & small fry 1 plain grilled or crispy chicken sandwich & side salad (low-cal dressing)
Mayo is killer... avoid the mayo! Of course, those are smaller portions and healthier choices will get you bigger portions but if you're on the road and need a choice, or craving some fried goodness, these will keep you in check
Remember, all that matters for just dropping poundage is calories in v. calories out.
^ TRUTH!
Last summer after Roo, I lost 21lbs in 6wks by dropping just below 1,000 cal/day (under my endocrinologist's supervision, not just a whim!)
You really don't have hunger pangs if you hydrate (I was drinking at least 96oz per day!) and have plenty of lean protein at regular intervals. Too many people sabotage their "health plan" (see? no "D" word here! ) by going too long without food. I found that I could lose more by eating less, just more often.
Oh, and speaking of hydration...
The only thing I hate more than drinking plain water is drinking water using those artificially-sweetened flavor pouches. Fortunately, the new Crystal Light Pure is sweetened naturally w/Stevia so it doesn't leave an icky aftertaste. This stuff rocks! (Best flavors: Mixed Berry & Tropical Fruit)
And FYI: for low-cal cocktails, this stuff mixes really well w/vodka...just sayin'

That stuff really works, and knocks back any cravings for sodas and sweet food. I have been using it for a while!
Luckily, I LOVE water, so as long as I remember to drink, I have no problem getting my water in! Although I don't mind the sucralose (I put a little splenda in my coffee), the crystal light gives me heart burn. Anyone had any idea if a drink made with stevia would be any better for that?
So my weight is UP for the first time since I started all this. I guess my streak couldn't stay forever! And luckily it's only up .8 so it could be worse... After the week I had, which I have already mentioned, I knew I would be so I am kinda ok with it. The thought of picking up the gym (I already paid for it online!) also makes me feel a-ok because I know next week's weigh-in will rock!

^ I used to get heartburn from the fake stuff. It might be from the aspartame and xylitol (or whatever it is) - and I haven't had ANY heartburn from the Pure since I started drinking it about 3 months ago. So far, so good!
And CONGRATS on your gym going, Bonz! Paying for it will be an incentive, believe me! I was a member of one that's $82/mo for just the gym & another $21/mo for parking. Now I can use the on-campus one for $25/mo for everything. You have motivated me to actually start going again!
YOU ROCK, GIRL! Keep up the great work! And don't sweat the 0.8lb increase: it's probably just last night's sushi!
Most margaritas an lemonades give it to me too. All lemonades really. Some margaritas are ok. Maybe I'll try it, though!
I can go to the gym here for free, but there is nothing pushing me to do it. And technically it's pay to park at this gym too, but A. they validate, so you can max at 3 bucks B. free street parking until 9 AM and C. I can walk there.
