I am not a morning person. When I had morning gym, a long time ago, I felt like a mess throughout the whole workout. That could more to do with the drinking and corn habit though now that I think about it.
So my summer hours start the week after Hangout (YAYY!!!) but the downside of summer hours is that I start my work day a half hour earlier. I currently wake up around 5:30-5:45 on gym mornings. So, I will be getting up at 5:00-5:15. This just occurred to me and I REALLY hope that I can still make the morning gym happen.
Bonz, you can do it! I'm also up at 5-5:15 for workouts right now, and that was going from NO working out, and getting up between 7 and 8. So if you only have to move it back 30 min - I have faith in youuuuu!!!!

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I haven't checked in in a while but I've lost 8 lbs in a little over a month. I started using this app my friend told me about called myfitnesspal and it's very motivating for me. You enter in all your stuff and it will tell you what you need to do to meet your goal (which I put Bonnaroo) and how many calories you need and then you just keep track of everything.
I think it makes me feel held accountable or something when I can see it all in black and white and that way I can see how to adjust things if we do want to go out to eat. I've also been keeping up on going to the gym 3x a week, sometimes 4. Hubby is down about 10 lbs as well but wants to try to lose another 6 before Roo so he's at the same weight he was at Roo last year. I'm trying to lose another 7 but as long as I'm pretty close to my goal number I'll be happy.
You should definitely check out that app though if you aren't using anything like that.
YOU GUYS. EPIC morning - so last week, you know I was 0.2 lbs away from the next "decade" as they say. Well I went home this weekend, had some 'rents time, booze time, etc. Much fun with my lovely fam. Didnt deprive myself, but made good choices and compromises (i.e. fish tacos no sauce at the mex place, bc I was DEF having a 1/2 pitcher of top shelf margs. I mean, duh). Got home last night, was still 0.2 away. So no gain! woo!
But then this morning, I did workout - again, it was JUST me, so we did an ass of core work, and I sweat a lot. Got in the shower, got dressed, did my hair, gather up my bag to leave - and as Im walking out of the gym, realize that my jeans are HANGING OFF me. ...Like I got to my car, and thought, "Jeez Christine, you should have remembered a belt..." Then I get to the office, and I go to the kitchen for my coffee... Thought, "These pants are falling off." No joke, I gave the jeans a little tug to see how low they'd go - and I pretty much almost pantsed myself. FOR REALZ. THEY WENT OVER MY HIPS! WITH the button and fly done! I could have been busted for being in my underwear in my office kitchen.
This is an epic day. It has been a really really really long time since I thought to myself, "My these jeans are too big." Usually it's, "how long can i get away with these too small jeans until I force myself to go up a size bc I dont have any shirts to cover my waistline."
We are 3.5 weeks away my fellow Losers and Get Fitters! Keep it up, keep training. Think about the heat and feeling GOOD walking around the farm. If you are so inclined, think about LOOKING GOOD too! Almost there!

Best pantsing ever!! Congrats Mayo!!! It always sounds like you're killing yourself, so it's nice to see you getting some rewards!!!!!!!!!
hahaha! Thanks, chico! I've never been so happy to be pantsed before!
btw, when are we gonna see you again so I can see you all cut up?! Nashville Color Run? Maybe JHo can take us to a dive bar to drink a thousand ciders as we did at your dive in Chicago. Maybe we can also find a fancy chocolate store so JHo can NOT eat the cinnamon chocolate and almost pass away.

Maybe I will take ya'll to a chocolate store that LABELS their chocolate so I don't accidentally eat cinnamon chocolate and cause a scene.

Yeah, I think the next time you'll see me is the Color Run, unless y'all come to Chicago. I'll post a pic in a couple of weeks when I'm doing my 10 miler. So you can get a little preview.
And you know JHo will cause a scene regardless of cinnamon!
Yeah, Mayo!! Awesome!! It's mornings like this that really make it all worth it, huh? All the pants that were in my regular rotation are now shelved (And soon to be out of the house!). They are all way too big. I didn't try to pants myself, but I am pretty sure that I could! I bought two basic pairs of work pants a month or two ago and rely on those, leggings, and dresses. I don't want to spend too much money on clothes before I reach my goal.
I went for my first real run this weekend (I realized that my first 5K is in two weeks and I haven't done ANY training!! It went pretty decent. 17 minutes for just under 1.75 miles and it wasn't for the last hill, I could have easily gone further. It was Saturday morning and i am STILL sore! I am going to keep to my elliptical this week because I don't want to be sore for Hangout (I leave early Thursday!!). I also fell off of a bike yesterday (yeah.. I am that good), so my knee is all torn up. Between the cuts, abrasions and sore muscles... my legs are not in good condition right now!
EDIT: This is a photo taken of me at a show this weekend (it was at the casino, so we went the LBD route!). This is the first pic taken of more than just my face since I started losing. I am on my way!

Nice work Mayo and Bonnie and everyone else! Mayo, I did the same thing, but thankfully in the privacy of my home! I had on Shorts I bought 2 years ago at my former "OK" weight that were too tight to wear last summer with a belt at the furthest notch, and I was constantly picking them up. Finally I just gave them a tug and they came right off! I am down to pants I have not worn in 8 years and shirts that I have not worn since I played rugby regularly! Once I am past roo, I am going to get back into it and work to the last goals. If that all works out, then Christmas for me will be new wardrobe time!
Hooray for Mayo!!! ( the person, not the condiment...) keep up the good work. Amy and I have decided to lose weight, prob not before roo, but it's about time...

Daym Bonnie! You are smoking hott! Good work lady!
Thanks everyone! Now i have a reason to go through my closet. I've been putting it off for a year. It's a disaster in there, and while I STILL don't want to do it, at least I'll be putting on littler sizes instead of bigger
AND DAYYYYYM BONNIE is right! Girl you are lookin' hot! Well done!!!
Great jobs everyone! KEEP working hard and feel good about it!!! <3

3 straight days of 90-min workouts, <800 daytime cals (tradeoff: PM vino!), and AT LEAST 2 gallons of water daily = watch out world! Yay for core-toning yoga! Sculpted rock-hard abs: we will meet again by year's end. It's on like Donkey Kong.

^^^NICE!!!!!!
I've been going to the gym pretty regularly, but I decided I needed to see the Dr about my knee. I've got a week before the 10 mile race and I want to break 90 minutes. I just want to make certain I dont make a small injury turn into a large injury. Booo injury. >:-(
Sorry to hear about your knee, Chico! Boo, indeed.
I don't weigh myself often, but I can tell by the way I feel that I've got about five pounds I'd like to shed before the big trip to TN! I'm getting excited, but I've been eating like s.h.i.t. lately.
I tried kicking this week off right by going for a 40 minute run and I felt fantastic after. I'm trying to make sure all of my eating/drinking/exercise choices are made with Bonnaroo in mind.

Ah poops! The excessive squats and lunges not helping yet, eh? Im super glad you've decided to see the doc though - maybe he can give you some solid advice on how to keep it strong for the race you know? Can you run with a brace? Something like that? UGH - hate that for you dude. Hopefully it works it self out - gets fixed, etc - I need you to run with me in Nashville in Oct!
Update - 2 lbs into the next decade. So last decade - SEE YAAAAA. I'm well on my way to the NEXT decade. I seriously haven't weighed this weight since... hmm... 2008? SO EXCITED. You guys I even have on my ring that I have worn every day since I was 16... I had to take it off last summer bc it was threatening to cut off circulation to my finger. ITS ON AGAIN! woo!
And HOlls - 90 minutes! GET IT LADY! And Bonz, I can't keep lookin' at your hotness in that pic. I may be touching YOUR ass at roo

I have the right knee of an elderly man, so I feel the pain. I blew it out in high school, then again in college...twice.
Negatives: It randomly throbs, it creaks, it pops & cracks, it can be easily tweaked/twisted, I went from being able to dunk a basketball as a 5'9" white boy to barely grabbing a fistful of net, it hurts to run uphill for more than 5 or 10 minutes, I do one-legged squats with less weight than women do it with.
Positives: I can tell when it's going to rain or snow.
I think that's a fair trade off.
At least I'm back to being able to run consistently, but between my knee, two ankles that have been tattered by breaks/fractures/high sprains (and are dainty little girly sh*ts that roll over all the time on me), and two torn rotator cuffs, working out is a chore. I mainly do water and resistance workouts so the stress on those joints is relieved. Gotta keep up my appearance fo' the ladies. Nawmean?
Yeah, as if the magnificent Mayo wasn't enough of an inspiration...there's the babetastic, Brigitte Bardot-channeling Bonzai rockin' the LBD like it's her job! Yowza, girl! You are smooooookin' in that dress! Can't wait to see your pics from Hangout where you're probably getting that hot bod all bronzed up just in time for Brunch!
Chico: if the doc decides your knee needs a break in October, you can power walk (no: STRUT!!!) w/Druid, JHo and me. You'll fit right in with your swagger. We're gon' be so badass that day. I can.not.wait.
Positives: I can tell when it's going to rain or snow.
Me too! My left knee is messed up. I fell on it in a very embarrassing incident a few years ago, and I think I damaged it somehow. Never got it checked out though.

But it's useful at Roo when rain is coming! ;D
Yeah, it's cool in a sense, but then I realize that it's going to suckkkk in another 20-30 years and the novelty wears off.
Just had to chime in that I have the worst knees ever, so I empathize with y'all. It makes me feel like an old lady. Unfortunately once you have a knee injury, it will usually be problematic for life. Knees are very complex and really hard to fix.
Hollie - you go girl! You looked SO good the last time I saw you, and from the sound of it you aren't stopping any time soon!

^ Awww, thanks sweetie!!! I'm feeling great, too, which is key to staying focused. (yeah, I know: ME? Focused?)
I'm actually on the treadmill now, about to finish my first full hour of cardio (elliptical & stairmonster for the first :30!) then I'll do another :30 of free weights & yoga.
This is when I'm most proud of my Irish/German genes: not only can I drink like a pro, I've got the steel resolve of a bulldog on speed! BOOOYAH! Take THAT, sedentary apathy tendencies!!! ;D
Thanks for all the knee support kiddos!! I should probably tell you that though it's my knee that hurts I'm 90% certain it has to do with me twisting slightly when I run and irritating muscles that surround my knee. I just dont want to do something stupid and pay for it for years, better safe that sorry.
Holls - I may just go in for a little swag anyways!
Holls, Im so proud of you ma'am. For realz, you are really killin' it, and making those excellent trade offs ("I WILL workout for noms, I WILL work out for noms"), and staying motivated! It's the key.
I had a pretty hard day on Monday morning - it was just me and the trainer, so I got rocked in a very non-cardio-all-core way. Then jumped around for an hour at the M83 show that night. I was super sore T and W, so I didnt go to workout. I haven't slept well the past couple nights and then Thursday, needed the sleep so skipped again. Soooo I went in today and we did legs legs legs. Woo! It was rough. But everyday when there's about a 0.5 lb diff on the scale, I remind myself that it took me 6 months to lose anything really - and now that my body is FINALLY in drop-the-lbs-fast mode, I should take advantage.
Tomorrow is the weekly Saturday morning 5-miler. Preeeeetty stoked.
