BONZ is gonna be my fellow wagon-getter-oner as soon as she's back home safe too! Damn you Sandy!!! *shakes fist in air*
Ugh Wagon?!? What’s that? Where do I find it? I ate a cookie at our employee benefits fair yesterday… and it was HUGE. The worst part about it? I don’t even really like cookies. I didn’t enjoy it at all.
I am a huge cheese person. I looooove cheese, but what I realized is that I don’t need it on my sandwich. I can barely tell it’s even there. Cheese is almost wasted on a sandwich. When I want my cheese, I eat it on my salad or alone… a way that I can enjoy it- make it worthwhile.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I am an absolute fiend for cheese, crave it all the time, but I very rarely put cheese on my sandwiches.
Weighed myself for the first time in weeks yesterday, I'm exactly where I was when I weighed myself last time (164 lbs). This is good because:
a)I assumed I'd gained a few pounds from my long Moogfest weekend (which pretty much ended up turning into a whole week thanks in part to Sandy) full of drinking and relatively unhealthy eating.
and, b) Because I'm 6'0 and have fat genes, 160/165 definitely seems to be the lowest I can get, so at this point I'm just trying to stay the same, not lose more weight.
What's bad though is that I hadn't worked out in a few weeks, so I've definitely lost some muscle mass over the last few weeks. If I've stayed the same weight, that means I've gained some fat. So my BMI probably isn't as good as it was a few weeks ago, and I might go up as I start working out more regularly again. Working on getting that BMI back where it needs to be starting this week

Hey...good work on the weight loss. But you might not have lost as much muscle mass as you think. Here's a Livestrong article on that subject:
Also: that period of inactivity may very well have been good for you -- sometimes people train too hard and get worn down, so when they come back to the gym they come back stronger. At the very least you ought to come back close to where you left off.

Yeah, I dont skip all cheese it just has to be good cheese something that isnt dried out nasty provolone from subway or whatever. Give me a ripe old swiss, gorgonzola or bleu cheese or something. Make it count.

This may sound crazy...but I put avocado on my sandwich now instead of cheese. It gives a nice creamy filling and helps me not notice the delicious delicious delicious cheese isn't there.
Edit: Nice creamy filling. Didn't think that one through.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Another thing: (I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I don't have time right now to read through everything.) Pay the most attention to sugars. Your body turns bad surgars into fat quicker than bad fats. For instance: If you're debating on cheese fries or a "pop," eat the cheese fries.
If anyone needs an amazing work out just PM me your email address, and I can forward it to you. I didn't need to lose weight, but did the routine as a guinea pig for my friend who is an officier in the Army and had to come up with something for his troops. It only takes 20-30 minutes a day and I lost 20 pounds in three weeks. There's also a very good reference guide to how you should and shouldn't eat. It's great!
That is all.
I am so intrigued by this. And is it healthy to lose 20 lbs that quickly if you don't really have it to lose? Can you share the method publicly or is it top secret shiz?

I checked with the doctors I work with (I have a heart condition so I wanted to be extra careful), and they said as long as I'm not working out for hours/exhausting myself, and I'm eating healthy, it's fine. It isn't top secret... I just don't know how to share it on here, because it's an attachment in an email that he sent to me. If you want to see it just PM me your email address!
Just wanted to drop in and say it's good to see people still using this thread. I've lost 50 lbs since March to 170! I can now fit into clothes I wore my freshman year of college 20 years ago! It hasn't really been that hard, just changing some bad eating habits by being more aware. -Eating more fruits, veggies, meats, wheat bread. -Trying to avoiding processed foods, sugars, etc. -Weights a couple times a week. -Running a couple of times a week. (Didn't start until around 190 though.) -Drinking as much beer as ever
Winter time has always been tough on me so hopefully I can keep my activity level up. Good luck to everyone!

Bumping this because I'm sure this is some people's new years resolution. Last year I wanted to be at a certain weight for 'Roo and I came short and have been slowly losing since then. Time to kick it into gear though.
160 days is plenty of time to shrink the gut, build some muscle or just get healthier in general.
Roo is just around the corner and I've signed up for a half marathon on June 2nd. Guess it's time to get ready!
When you bumped this, I was super glad to see that you weren't bumping it fore resolution reasons. Also SUPER glad that you decided against that Roo weekend race You go, boy!!
I'll be keeping my eyes open for something to sign up for. I'm not exactly the competitive type, so I need to wait for one that involves costumes/ bright colors/ etc..

My resolution for 2013 is to EGOT. This is going to be my year I can taste it.

I think you're a solid contender for a Tony for your role in the Lion King as Rafiki.

I am doing P90X in preperation for roo. I consider myself lucky that I am not trying to drop lbs but trying to tone and build stamina. The nutrition plan for it is good enough on its own to lose weight if you feel your not ready to begin the workouts(which are pretty effin exhausting). I did the nutrition plan for 2 weeks before I started. If anyone wants details on the nutrition plan I can email you. PM me
